Great place ❤️

Unique, with beautiful views! very short path, but worth the stop for sure.

Beautiful, easy walk. Swimming, biking, and dog walking.

Beautiful view of the river, places to swim.

Very nice. Just exactly what our family of four needs for an afternoon of exercise.

loop has to be done as 2 semicircles because some beavers damned up part of the loop. its pretty cool to see their work and get a little wet explore some wetlands. nice and quiet, didnt see anyone else.

Enjoyed all the interconnecting trails

Great easy hike. Wonderful views! It does sneak up on you as you are driving. Very easy to pass right by it. The parking is a little iffy

easy trail, walked this with 2 young children many times. nice representation of NH forest plants. nice loop which turns at an old stone foundation where you have great views of the lake. very busy on weekends. very buggy April through July. it's ok for an easy hike or serene walk. not much exercise if you're looking for a real hike.

There are all kinds of trails in this area that neither AllTrails nor the paper map you can get at the trailhead show. As is typical for a suburban trial system, several different groups appear to have created their own trails for their own purposes in hiking, biking, or snowmobiling. A decent hiking trail, mostly flat, some water crossings and a watering hole and low-level waterfall to take in over lunch. A much better mountain-biking, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing series of trails. Watch for bikers; we had to step off the trail and let some by. Incredibly well-maintained bridges. We got "lost" in the network of trails several times, but then again I was looking to explore the trails not shown on the maps. I did not start marking waypoints until we were well into the hike, so I omitted marking a yellow trail we took and a green one we did not.

Nice loop trail. Lots of roots near the trailhead makes for looking down a lot. Trail goes down to Royal River which loses about 120ft of elevation and then comes back up afterwards. The uphill portion will leave you a little winded but besides that it's an easy trail. Takes less than an hour.

Great trail leading to fun waterfalls. Very kid and dog friendly.

This park provides a nice combination of tall woodlands, farmland views and riverside vistas. The River Run and Bridal Loop trails will give you a full sweep of the park, but there are multiple short trails running east-and-west between them if you want to cut the hike short. There are a couple of small climbs but it’s mostly flat trekking. A nice afternoon getaway.

I must be old. My Yorkie and I were exhausted! Great place.

Great trails. Have gone a couple times now. Some of them are very family friendly

Nice little hike. The trails are wide and well groomed. Perfect little place to get some fresh air that’s close to home. Not challenging at all, but pleasant.

Question...there are named some trails marked at entrances on Rt 28 bypass...one is marked Brown's Island. Can anyone tell me how this trail is and if it is one of the Fire Road's listed on this map. Looking for good lake views for photography. thanks

perfect little hike for kids. and adults!

Favorite best kept Portland secret. Dogs can run off leash and swim in the river.

It's a beautiful area. Short trail. I have walked this trail many times, and I'm sure there will be many more trips there

The trails were well kept and marked. There are a lot or crossover trails but they basically all connect from what I could gather. Some parts were pretty steep but my 7 year old managed pretty well. I will definitely go again and now see you can avoid the steep sections if you choose. We wanted to see Meredith camp. Was a little bit tough to find but a passer by helped us.

Dog loves it, we love it, and it was right in our own backyard the whole time! Will certainly go again.

Half of trail is flooded and angry hornets nest at entrance

Nice trail for dogs, kids, running and winter walks. Well nice year round walks. Very well maintained and even has story book kiosks along the way with pages of real paper books under plexiglass along the trail for kids. We do this hike regularly as we live nearby. They do change the book often. The trails are very wide, flat and accessible.

There are a couple benches along the way but so far not much wildlife. Many plants are labeled though. Otherwise there is nothing dramatic to see.

Beautiful, easy and peaceful stroll.

beautiful trail, beautiful view, nice and easy

Entrance is in the cemetery.

Bring you’re rain boots for this trail as one of the bridges is flooded.

Walked the yellow trail and it was fun. Very buggy. Found one nice view of the lake and the rest was beautiful forest. I’d probably only do it again if I brought a bike.

Excellent easy to moderate hike. 360-degree views from fire tower during peak autumn are stunning.
