beautiful hike all the way through and the prize at the end the waterfall perfect.

I agree with Chris, this is more of a moderate trail. By the end my friend and I were very sore. The pain was well worth seeing the falls. Take lots of water!

fun destination hike with a great payoff. falls were amazing. most of the trail is fairly ez, but there are a couple of steep sections.
took the whole family, my 9 year old struggled just a bit.
took 2 hours.
GPS had it at 4.3 miles.

Great trail. It's well covered and stays pretty cool. The slightly steeper parts are well staggered, good exercise but not too difficult. Very beautiful location.

This is my favorite hike of the season. I’ve done Cecret Lake, Big Baldy, Silver Lake and Battle Creek Falls. I’d give it a 5* if it wasn’t for the amateurs hiking on the trail. If you see a trail runner, move over and let them pass. Falls were refreshing and great to cool off under before I headed back down.

It’s cool. Not much of a destination, just a cool hike. Power lines following the trail are the reason for 4/5 stars.

This hike was a nice surprise. We couldn't do our originally planned hike because of a forest fire, so we chose this one instead because it was close. The trail started off pretty steep for a short time then transitioned into the dirt road portion... loose rock section, then BAM! Beautiful views! There appears to be many small trails you can explore up to the mine. I would do this hike again just explore the other trails that come off of this trail.

Loved it! Lake Mary is stunning.

Great hike. A little steep at places.

This trail is marked “easy” but it is not!! It is definitely “moderate” and if you are an inexperienced hiker, possibly even “difficult “. There are rocks and tree roots to navigate especially along the last section leading to the falls. And it is a challenge for small children. Most kids under 7 that I saw on the trail were not happy. One 3 year old was afraid of how high up we were along part of the trail and cried for a good part of it

Now all that being said, it is a beautiful hike!! Lots of shade, wildflowers (even in dry July), scenic views across the mountains and the waterfall did not disappoint!! Just be prepared with water and snacks, especially if you have kids with you.

I completely agree that this hike should not be categorized as ‘easy’. However, it was well worth the hike. Beautiful falls.

Absolutely gorgeous. Should not be rated easy but it depends on which parts you hike.

AllTrails rates it as easy. I’d say more moderate between easy and intermediate at 3.9 miles with 650 feet altitude gain, lots of up and down, dusty portions with a couple of tricky rock fields. Mostly not too tough but not for young children (saw lots of parents carrying little ones) or older adults.

This hike is actually 4 miles round trip. Had a blast going under the waterfall even though it was so cold it took my breath away. We hit the trail just before 8AM on Pioneer Day and it wasn't very busy and we arrived at the falls within an hour. By the time we decided to leave the falls it was a different story! The trail became very crowded with both people and dogs (mostly off leash). I would call this trail Moderate. There is quite a bit uphill. But it is doable. The waterfall is beautiful as well.

The hike is pretty easy overall. The first 2/3 going in isn’t anything special. The last bit is a lot more fun. The destination is what makes this hike well worth the journey.

Very heavily trafficked when I was up there, but so beautiful! Will definitely get your heart pumping, but it really isn't too hard of a climb. Saw tons of little kids and, really, people of all ages. Great hike! (Even better views)

Dusty and crowded but the views were awesome. Some steeper sections but still pretty doable.

Great hike. 7 Lakes. Started at Silver lake , Solitude, up and over to Twin Lakes, over to Lake Mary, Martha, Cathrine, and Dog Lake. Caught the tail end of the flowers.

Not 3.4 miles! It’s 2 up and 2 down, so be prepared! My kids 5 & 3 walked the entire time and it took us about 4 hours (including the stay at the waterfall).

Then hike was perfect, just longer than I expected. Also dusty and a lot of rocks. Otherwise one of the best longer hikes I’ve been on. Totally worth it!

Beautiful hike! Easy to moderate, with some steep and rocky parts. It is dusty! The falls are beautiful.

The hike was nice and relatively easy. Lots of little kids on the trail who seemed to do just fine. Although it was a hot day, there is plenty of shade along the trail. The trail is filled with a very fine dust, so be ready to get dirty!

Beautiful trail. Fairly high traffic but still a great hike. Strenuous enough but manageable. Wildflowers everywhere. There was a big bull moose about 30 yds from the trail. Had a blast!

Fun hike. Wildflowers were still in full bloom. Intermittent shade. We saw 3 bull moose. They were right on the trail but we were able go around them.

Beautiful hike!!!!

Beautiful fun trail. Very easy, good for kids.

Great Moderate hike though first mile is steep. The first mile is highly trafficked. Past that it gets more sparse with people till the end then your are back in crowds. Fun, beautiful.

Of all the trails I’ve done in the past, this may be the hardest and boring trail I’ve been on. I didn’t quite make it to the end because the narrow ridge scared me. I probably only had about a 1/2 mile left of hiking, but I was done after hiking uphill for 2 hours. The wild flowers are cool, but I like the flowers better at Stewart Falls. I won’t do this hike again. It wasn’t fun nor was it exciting. I’m also the person that chases waterfalls, so don’t trust me with this review. I’m also a slow hiker so that’s probably why it took 2 hours and I still didn’t finish.

I love the aspens along the trail and there are some beautiful look outs, especially at the end. We went on a Saturday morning in the summer and there were a lot of other hikers of all ages out on the trail. We went at a slow/leisurely pace and it took us about 2.5ish hours total.

the trail gets really rocky. my four year old kept tripping but she kept going. the end with the river and waterfall is worth the hike specially on a hot day. beautiful hike and mostly shaded.
