I went there for the sunset, it's the best for the light (I even saw a rainbow!) and I was almost alone. The smoke is not a problem there even though it was all around.
The view from look out is as beautiful as from the foot of the waterfall.

Great views despite the fog. Went on a weekday to avoid heavy traffic. The descent to the beach is steep.

Great trails!

Lovely place. The view was so worth it, would highly recommend hiking here!

Forest is amazing, some great views of ocean on the route back. Check out trail profile a workout up hill

Super popular trail, seriously the foot traffic.
I'm glad I did it at least once but that will be the last time.
Not a good first starter trail if you're not use to hills.
It only flattens out once you're almost to the smaller, clear lake itself.
Well kept up with trash&the maintenance but like I said-heavy traffic.

Beautiful views! Very busy trail and lots of tree roots to walk over. Inclines were not bad at all. Get there early because the parking gets full.

Fun hike. Great for kids and puppies

Short easy-moderate hike with breathtaking views. Great for kids and lots of shady spots on top for picnics. Well worth the morning.

I hiked this with my husband and my three-year-old dog in August. It was an easy hike, and flat. We chose to start the loop on the bay side. The first 3.5 miles along the bay were on a gravel road. In hot weather this would be difficult for dogs. About the last mile of the gravel road our dog was seeking shade. The rocks were also a little sharp for her paws. She managed. The bay side of the walk was comfortably warm. The ocean side was windy and we used our sweatshirts and wind breakers. The last 4 miles were on the beach and most of the time we were the only ones on the beach. Toward the end we saw a few people. It was beautiful and I would recommend this hike. I’d say it’s more like a long walk (8 miles for us). Bring a lunch and rest on the beach for a bit!

Great hike. planned on a 2 day 1 night trip. but things happened and I had to get out of there did the whole loop one day. proved its doable but not recommended unless you're in the condition for it. Apparently didn't get the memo on the dead elk and I refilled my water at the creek below no name and again at green lakes (another creek). I guess that means either I got lucky or my inline water filter worked well. clockwise or counter clockwise I can see it being good, just depends on if you want to get the climb out of the way earlier or not.

Stunning views, pretty steep at times. I started in Seaside and only saw one person for the first four miles. Got pretty crowded the closer I got to Indian Beach. Large portion of trail is very muddy. Definitely wear hiking boots (not shoes) as the mud is ankle deep in many places. So worth the effort.

Absolutely stunning. But pretty packed. Parking is tough so get an early start.

Fairly easy hike that is mostly shaded which makes it pleasant. The waterfall is beautiful and not too many hikers around 4:00. It’s peaceful and serene.

Panoramic view at the top was spectacular and only took about an hour to hike up. Definitely a good way to spend some time.

I packed our one year old in the front pack, and our five, seven, and nine year olds hiked it. It is easy to go down, a little more difficult on the way up, our five year old complained the whole way back up. I would borderline suggest changing the difficulty level to a moderate just because of the uphill. The waterfalls were pretty small this time of year, it wasn’t a spectacular finish to the hike down but pretty. We had lunch at the picnic table at the end. We only passed a handful of people up and down, which made for a private hike which we did enjoy. I used the location set on this app to map the directions to the trail and it took us down some narrow old logging road. We finally were able to turn around and head back up the gravel road to turn on to the correct marked road to the Forest Service trail signs. There is no bathroom or any sort of station here, also we didn’t have any cell service, so plan accordingly.

the water was amazing, best to go when the day is hot and best to get there early. also bring $5 cash to pay for the parking permit, they don't take card.

Headed up early. Nice quiet trail.

Awesome quick trail. Great views of the ocean from some of the spots. The beginning is steep, but after you conquer that part its pretty smooth sailing.

Beautiful! Not very muddy, and what mud was there was firm. Recommend getting here early though, parking filled up fast! Only 3 other cars in the lot when we arrived at 9am, completely full when we left at around 12:30. Bathrooms are past the trailhead, across the street.

Road is open and some snow on parts of trail. Extremely muddy in the meadow. Wildflowers are just starting to bloom.

Love it and the view is amazing! I made the mistake of going without having eaten (hypoglycemic) and got lightheaded and a bit sick with the elevation increase. It's not an easy trail but it is not at all impossible. Beautiful!

Absolutely serene, gorgeous, and amazing. Great trail, lots to see, songbirds, and amazing water sights and sounds.

This is a great walk to do with young teens and people new to hiking. It’s not too long and there is elevation to get your heart rate up for anyone wanting a challenge. The view is spectacular and there are places to rest and have lunch. I cannot wait to bring more family members to enjoy this hike with.

First, I would not rate this as moderate. It is most definitely easy. It’s just about 2 miles in. It’s a steady incline so you don’t really feel it. The devastation from
the Eagle Creek fire is heartbreaking, but at least there is some green coming back by way of ground cover. There are some loose rocky spots but nothing difficult. The fall is beautiful just Ike all the PNW falls.

Pleasant hike but very crowded. The drive up after turning off the highway was quite a bit longer than I expected and very winding, with some potholes and most of it being single lane it was a little nerve wracking for me. I arrived right after 11am on a Thursday and the lot was completely full. About ten cars showed up right behind me and all just parked along the side of the road. Seems to be one of our local “hotspots” with need for permits in the near future. Bathrooms at the parking lot were indescribably filthy. I’m a nurse and I dry heaved... then practically bathed in hand sani. Would not recommend for a peaceful, quiet hike through nature due to the crowding. Great hike to go be out with friends/family, it’s not super hard, the bridge was cool, and some people were swimming around the waterfall at the end.

Casual stroll through the forest until you reach the falls, where there is a short, steep section. Little effort for large reward. Did this hike late evening so decided not to explore below the falls but there seems to be lots more trail to explore.

The lower falls is an excellent hike if you are looking for a fairly short and easy hike with high reward. Be sure to make your way to the base of the falls!
