very nice trail, the path is easy and full of trees.

This is a nice hike. There are many paths you can choose from. I enjoyed the quiet of this trail.

watch out for creepers

Awesome trail with multiple terrain options.

I live across the street from Busse Woods. Little crowded, specially on Sundays, but absolutely beautiful!!!
Will always recommend this one!!!

I grew up in the woods of Florida. I've travelled since, and wound up living in the city. Chicago is great. But instead of hating the suburbs when I moved out here to Arlington Heights, I've loved it. Largely thanks to amazing wooded trails like this one. There's pockets of shade here or there, and some segments of the trail definitely offer more than others. But there's tons of wildflowers, sweeping views, water, facilities all along the way. The trail is correctly rated as easy. There are a few sections with mild incline/decline, but mostly flat and easy to run or walk. And all along the way, it's beautiful. I highly recommend this trail to anyone nearby.

Great spot to get away from the busy life for a bit. Has both pavement and dirt hiking/biking trails with wooden areas and open fields. My favorite place in the area!

This is a well kept park ideal for bikes. My 7 year old and I stayed on the North side. There are some elevation changes, and a couple of bridges. In the city, a nice wooded getaway.

This has become one of my favorite place to go

Fun kayaking

nice paved trail for biking. light traffic for a sunday afternoon.

First time there. Travelled RED coarse 3 times. Nice trail. It was a little busy to my liking for a Thursday morning. I Actually saw an Elk 10 feet from the trail. Will return

Flat paved, good for biking or exercise, not really a hiking road

will do it again. busy but well maintained. easy to follow

my favorite place to jog or run!

nice ride on hot day

Fairly crowded with bikes and a lot of dogs. Well maintained path, Long enough for serious race training runs.

Nice trail for an easy hike.

Very nice bike and hike trail. Great for cross country skiing. Depending on the snow of course.

This place is beautiful. They do a great job managing for removal of invasive plants.

The trails get flooded in Spring and after rains. Mosquitoes can be intense especially near sections of the river.

There are historic settler cabins on the site.

Terrain is mostly flat with well maintained trails so it’s an easier hike.

In Autumn the sugar maples paint the sky yellow. In Spring the spring ephemerals paint the ground with varying waves of color.

This wooded preserve is beautiful since it’s now largely brushed out. It has rolling terrain with streams. The majority of the path is clear and wide if one doesn’t want to deal with ticks. The trail connects to the east side of the preserve which is wooded but also has a loop near Prairie. Plan for Mosquitoes in Summer. Lots of wildlife here. Pileated woodpeckers, Indigo Buntings, etc.

There are nice cabins and campsites for camping.

Trail surface: grass and mud, have had a lot of rain this year. Bugs: we did the three mile Outer Loop and almost turned back due to swarms of mosquitoes, also found ticks on me and my husband when we got home. Scenery: Really beautiful, but not much variation, wooded areas, grassy areas, wood bridges and river. Elevation gain: even though map claims some elevation feels essential flat. Amenities: Visitor Center very nice, restrooms very clean, staff very friendly, drinking fountain outside building, ample parking. Overall a lovely hike but mosquitoes a huge problem.

Hate to ever give a bad rating, but this place is a mosquito pit. Wanted to run 4-5 miles but cut it short due to the bugs.

This place is beautiful with lots of prairie plants. Cone flowers are everywhere. The trails are often shaded, my dogs appreciated that in the warm weather. Bathrooms are clean and well placed. Be sure to have bug spray.

be prepared. bug spray. long pants. long sleeved shirt. good shoes. very muddy. trail head not well marked but fairly easy to stay on path. trail app a great help when not sure. fun to hike on dirt path. worth a hike in to see the nature art. An escape in the middle of suburbia.

Beautiful BEAUTIFUL!!! spot at an convenient location

Great hike and natural beauty. There are a few trails to choose from. Just check for ticks!

Great loop trail. Takes about 2 hours to walk.

This is great loop for some warm up biking. Quite flat but on dirt road. A bit of chalange in one section which gets very muddy after rain. You can also find a nice "short cut" I bike along a small stream.
