What about these? Map

Great hike- open fields and tree cover. Also a cave. Warning, I thought this was a Hard hike, not moderate. Cows and plenty of their left behind obstacles. Watch where you step in some parts!

The trail was very well maintained and the route is clearly defined not much guess work to it which is nice. The first half of the trail could be jogged or walked dependent on your preference all around a good hike with out being to difficult. The viewpoints are excellent depending on the weather and amount of overcast.

Quintessential East Bay Hike - bald open face hills with oak shaded creek trails. Absolutely beautiful during the Spring months- very green with an abundance of wildflowers including poppies all over the place. Beautiful views of the bay. And COWS on the trail! Loved it.

WILDFLOWERS time for April! It is stunning view from trail end near Alta Vista Equestrian Center. 4.5 miles to and out from Garin Regional Park Gate. There are wild flower near the Jorden pond but most significant colorful patches is at the end!

Great after the recent rains, so green!

Boring till u each top but great for muscle training

Not exactly a loop but still a good hike with decent elevation and views. Watch for nettles and cow poop if you venture off the main trail.

Good start to a great day

Today was my first time hiking this trail. It was after a good rainfall, so it was a bit cold and windy. I wasn’t able to finish the full loop, but I was able to see some breathtaking views! I’m looking forward to doing the full loop and bringing my dog with me next time!

One of my favorite hikes. Be prepared for the WIND up there! And it’s STEEP. Do not underestimate this trail. :-) just a really good workout. Enjoyable. Benches and restrooms along the trail. The views up there will make you forget about the “meh” part of the trail. Worth your time! Expect 2-3 hours.

The 5 star rating is for the view and all the things that come around it. But me and my girls were physically unprepared and we were way too tired and winded that we went home depressed because al of our energy is gone lol!

Lovely hike- took us about an hour. Great views, close cow encounters and historical landmark. Beware cow poop all over the place. Want to return to picnic with views in the future.

forgotten but done a couple of times...

Breathtaking views, really light traffic once you get away from the trail heads. It’s definitely one of the hardest trails I’ve ever done, but also one I’ll never forget. Plenty of cute cows will stare at you as you make your way to the top, so prepare to have you heart stolen. Piece of advice though? Mind their poop!

Great hike, beautiful views. Will definitively do again.

Went for a jog on a Sunday afternoon in January. Very pleasant, barely anybody for most of the time. Once you pass the cattle gate, it could get muddy but the views are very nice. Sweeping view of hills and the bay, mostly in the sun with a couple short shades. Watch out for cow poops.

Very nice views plus fun and good work out

Love this trail. Easy enough for all levels. Great views, and the trail is maintained and easy to follow.

Moderately trafficked trail until meets w/ other trail at which point it turns into Disneyland. Uphill all the way to peak w/ maybe two flat sections. Not much shade. Very well maintained trail. Difficult to get lost.

Crows were circling at the top, presumably in anticipation of humans falling out. Winter is coming.

Doesn’t feel “gradual” but some great views if the bay and back at the Livermore valley make it a beautiful hike.

Nice and easy trail. Good views from the top. We stayed on Calaveras Ridge Trail the whole time. Recommend!

Nice trail for a chilly day. Rolling hills but minimal shade.

Great workout on Christmas day -- perfect sunny temps, lots of bovine friends -- highly recommended. Will definitely plan on connecting to Mission Peak next time.

Hiked this on New Year’s Eve. Tons of Parking at the college. Wear a good pair of hiking shoes! It can get a little slippery on certain parts of the trail and near the peak. Not too busy.

Love this hike but it is pretty crowded! There was actually a line at the top for getting picture taken! Whoa! Today was warm and not windy, but therefore limited views. Still a great hike!
