Weekend Hikes Map

It has a new entrance since the last time we were there. Cold at the top, a little foggy but great view and we did it in record time...for us...after a knee injury and a few years removed.

I didn’t find snow on my way to the view points today, make sure to hit the trail early

It was busy but enough space to spread out on the top, pretty views and well shaded for the hike.

Went on a Friday afternoon, not very crowded was a short hike to falls. Was a decent hike up the hill after the falls to the junction with the John Wayne trail. Will do more often as we cross the pass.

Pulled into the last parking spot of the trailhead around 9 am. Very busy hike so earlier the better. Had lunch at the less busy, first viewpoint overlooking big si. Great sunrise or morning hike when you don't have a full day available.

Mostly incline, but manageable. Nice tranquil hike, well maintained, well marked, no bathroom facilities. Parking off road.

This is a good first hike of the season. It’s steep from the start, then it’s flat for a while, then it’s steep at the end. Got a good workout without getting too sore the next day.

Ps, it’s definitely around 4.2 miles instead of 3.6.

Beautiful sunny, warm day for a beautiful hike. Tons of people and dogs. The trip was still gorgeous though. Good season opener.

Definitely a fun, manageable hike. Gets a little busy on the weekends so get there early if you don’t want to either get lucky, or wait for a parking space (we saw people had parked off-site from the trailhead and walked in). All and all it was a good time going up. A little muddy/slippery toward the top right now, so be careful!

good trail, very busy but the views we're with it.

Hiked up the ledge and to east point yesterday, spikes would have been helpful however I did it without. You can get by without just a little slippery towards the end. Great views and met some cool people along the way.

Great day for family hike. Busy so we parked on the road outside parking lot. Not muddy and river views were exceptional. A little up and down to get to falls but well worth the effort. Great for kids of all ages!

Fun for beginners like me, challenging hills but not too bad. Halfway through you get to the lake which is neat break

It was a gorgeous day to be up there. From Snowqualmie it’s about 10-11 miles round trip but it’s not too bad and the elevation gain is mostly gradual. Poles are extremely help and for the best view bring snowshoes because about a mile past the Grand viewpoint is a clear cut that you can explore, it has a view of Rainier as well.

Great trail be prepared for a hike. Uphill. The scenery is amazing when u get to the top!

Hiked this trail this morning with my dog. Great hike, definitely steep enough in some places to get your blood pumping. It’s a little slippery up at the top right now with some mud still in places. It’s busy on weekends but I didn’t have trouble finding a place to park.

Nice trail in the wilderness, very pleasant and challenging. No view at the top, only of the trees with a bench while you see nature come to life before your eyes. Enjoy

Beautiful day!!!

The perfect trail in my opinion. Good length and elevation for a casual challenge with a beautiful view at the top. A little overcrowded on weekends but that’s s good indication of how great it is!

I hiked yesterday so beautiful and a lot people along the way even get see group that were doing rock climbing . Little rock but beautiful valley between to walk the rock area. Stunning view on the top

Fun hike, go early to avoid massive crowding at the top..

amazing views, snow is still present at the top of the trail. I hiked it with plain boots and no spikes or poles we're needed.

Good hike, good view. Loved the snow and elevation.

I did this hike yesterday with my dog and 14 month old daughter in a carrier on my back. Some parts were difficult with rocks but for the most part it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t run into any snow or mud. Get there early if you want parking. I got there at 11am on a weekday and the parking lot was almost full.

Beautiful park with a multitude of challenge levels from mild, moderate, and difficult levels of trails to explore. In the heart of the city!

Awesome trail! Still very icy at the top, lots of opportunities to slip and fall, so be careful and bring poles and microspikes! View at the ledge is absolutely stunning, makes the trek up well worth it.

Mediocre hike with decent views of the waterfalls. May be better in the summer when you could walk down and enjoy sitting by the river. Not bad if you’re looking for a quick, short hike.

Beautiful waterfalls views.
Some mud, I would wear hiking shoes.
My puppy had a blast.
I would suggest going on a weekday, weekends seem to be packed with lots of people.

Beautiful waterfalls. Great river views. Able to go to water's edge.

Very rocky trail, but well worth it for the views at the top. Caught an amazing sunset at the summit!
