Hard at times to follow trail. Not as many trail signs as I would have liked. Great views!

Beautiful hike, a little too much elevation gain for my hiking partner.

Nice peaceful walk. Not many on the trail. A flock of ducks landed in the river not far from me. Free state parks day. Will take my three year old granddaughter when it warms up a bit

Nice short hike to get out into nature. Every skill level can enjoy this trail (my wife is 8 months pregnant and had no problem). Beautiful river and waterfalls!

Incredible views along the entire route! I brought my kids and they did great, though that steep climb at the beginning and end made me nervous with my 6yo, who does not have a lot of good self preservation sense and sometimes got closer to the edge than was safe. I'm not in great shape, so this was about as hard a hike as I'd be willing to do, but it was so beautiful I'd

The parking lot is closed for the season, snow I guess. We parked along the road and walked around the gate. The falls are very close so we were able to get a good view and took the trails along the river. The view is gorgeous! We will be back in the summertime.

We got a late start today so this hike/walk was a great fit into a dry, fall afternoon. I did download a park map but due to time (and never having down the trail system before) we utilized both the paved loop as well as the trails.

Hiked with two kids, aged 5 and 7, who had fun. They are experienced hikers so this was an easier outing for them.

Lots of lovely views and we even saw two black oyster catchers resting on rocks down by the water. A highlight!

Nice walk around the park

A nice walk with a lot of small creeklets and open spaces interspersed in the trees. Great for a short outing. There was a field full of lupines dried out for the fall. I bet it's amazing in the spring.

Where do I start. Following Maps to the trail head I ended up in paid parents lot. $5 for a public trail? Luckily I’m family with the area and found street parking just on the other side of 522 and used the Burke-Gilman trail to access the trail head which it adjoins to. The first part of this trail runs mostly along the UW Bothell campus before using pedestrian sidewalks to cross over the loud and busy 405 Freeway. Only a very small portion winds through protected wetlands. Next timeI will try starting out further north on trail.

beautiful falls, we stopped by after we did the iron goat trail, just gorgeous.

No Lighthouse!! But none the less a beautiful hike. Easy enough for the whole family. Tried to add on the moderate part of the hike and had to back out, not traveled enough and I am not experienced enough.

Pretty peaceful, easy to follow trail, scenic. Great for kids! My 3.5yr old loved the ducks.

From the parking lot, enter the loop at the left entrance. If you do, by the end of the loop you will understand why they call it Deception Falls! Well maintained trail, good to get out and stretch your legs.

The hike itself is beautiful, quiet and mostly clear trail full of big trees and wildflowers perfect for a small child or children. Easy hike not too long up to a wonderful lake with a few places to walk around and see the water, dragonflies, flowers and watch fish jump in scenic dark green lake.

Access to the lake is limited with just the view in between trees and a few places to get right down to the boggy green lush lake. There’s a small space to eat lunch and have the kids explore.

I’m not giving it 5 stars, I would love to but the road up to the trail head is horrible. It’s hard to enjoy the hike when you know you have to drive back down the road which happens to be about 7 miles of miserable damaged road with little space to pull over for cars coming the opposite way. It’s a bad start and finish to what really is an amazing little hike my son absolutely loved. Hope some maintenance to the road in the future could promote a happier hike all around!

The trail and lake were both nice, but there wasn’t much of a trail around the lake. It’s definitely a kid friendly hike, we went with our 4yr old and he enjoyed it.

I’m giving it a 2 star rating because how unbearable the drive to the trail head is. It’s about 6 miles of single lane road filled with large/very large pot holes and rocks... the entire way. We went in a good sized SUV and it was still a pretty uncomfortable drive.

short hike with beautiful views. no hiking required to see the falls!

Super Relaxing Trail!!! Really nice to relax by the mountain stream!!!

Beautiful trail around cascade Lake. We were able to run a lot of it and only have to hike a little of it. I highly recommend it for the runner who might be around 60!

Nice way to cool down walking along the river.

As a beginner to running I found the hills challenging but the trail was paved and simple for me to follow. Great views.

this could be stop and relax kind of trail, i would say. well maintained. I thought i was going to stop and continue my Monday adventure but i stayed longer than i planned because watching and listening while the water ranging is always makes me feel good. you should stop by if you're around.

Easy, plenty of places to wander! Beautiful views

Nice hike. Detoured to Cascades Falls and then to the other three falls and Mountain Lake. Lots of trails to connect to and go as far/long as you want to. Two lakes and four falls in less than 2 hours - totally worth it.

Beautiful Hike on a beautiful island!

Good with Kids. Not that crowded so group of 3-4 will make it fun.

beautiful trail. watch the offshoot on the lighthouse trail, this fork isn't obvious for which is the official trail and which lands you on a goat trail that's pretty gnarly

Okay trail and good for a decent walk and hike. View points aren’t that impressive.

Great views. Lots of cars today. We’d definitely go again.

Great hike! Starting from the day use area, you have the option to connect to the Cascade Falls trail, which offers a couple waterfalls and adds a little bit more distance. Lots of great views throughout.
