on Cascade Lake Trail

Nice hike, although the entire west section of the trail is within earshot of the main road on the island, so it’s not super peaceful. But the east side of the lake is really beautiful and has very nice views. Doable hike for almost anyone, not too much elevation gain.

Tried to go here today and the road was still snowed in. Will be back this summer.

My second review of this trail - simply put, convenient, enough trail routes and turns to do it monthly and keep your experience fresh, and a decent climb if you are parked at the west lot. All in all, can be easy and relaxing 2 mile loop or a mildly strenuous, mazey, 3 mile jaunt.

Super pretty too even on a cold January winter day

Cute little trail and waterfall. There is a loop that follows into the forest and along the river.

Great walk for families with young children. Brings you up close to the edge of the Skagit River. Also a bonus playground, bbq and toilet area located at the parking lot. If you wanted to make a day of it and have a picnic or bbq

We did this hike today and it was great! It was very easy and perfect for my 3year old and elderly dog! There was some snow on the trail but not too much.

The road getting up the the trailhead was pretty rough as there were many large pot holes so I would recommend a truck or SUV

Good easy hike but the best part are the wonderful swimming spots and fun rock jumping opportunities from the trail!

Not a good route for trail running. The path separates and just goes to random cliffs and leads to nowhere, hard to stay on the main trail. Pretty views on the water though.

I love this trail because it feels like a little slice of heaven within a residential area. It's close, convenient and beautiful. It doesn't boast any amazing views and is easy in the sense of the workout; however, very pleasurable to get out in nature and get some movement.

Easy access to falls

Beautiful year round.

Very pleasant trail

oh man I loved this trail! We stopped here on our way home from leavenworth, and it was seriously one of my favorite trails. It was so easy, which was perfect for us because we were very tired from our trip, but we love hiking, so we decided to stop real quick, and I'm so glad we did. There are some stairs, but very easy, no steep cliffs or anything. we brought our 9 year old and our dog and they both loved it. Very short distance and I would say there are atleast 5 spots to play in the river water or take pics. Choose to either take the short loop trail, (highly recommend) or go down some stairs and see the falls. must see forsure. we were there for about an hour, but we played in the water and climbed on the rocks alot.

Nice easy hike. Uphill first part but the fairly level. Amazing views!

Great little hike easy to see and get to the falls

The road in is long and bumpy but the lake is beautiful! Perfect first hike for my three year old to try out her new "pack pack".

A great, unexpected area! The trail is a nice stroll and has several view points. You can climb down to the river at several parts, go wading, and hang out. It is not closed, and parking is free. If you are driving through the area, it is a must see!

8/12/2017 (Saturday) - Cool, cloudy morning 62-66F, 2 hours, 3 miles, loop on the low flat land, up to rather steep sloppy woodland. Friendly hikers and dogs all the way. Dry trails, but creeks still flow.

A fun, short accessible trail!

very easy hike, GORGEOUS views!

Family favorite trail, bring the dog sometimes too. She loves seeing all the other dogs on the trail. Kids love that we can take a little different route every time!

Great views all over. Busy place in the summer. Good places to jump off rocks into the water as well. P.s. Don't touch the snail shells, they stink.

a nice, short walk along the water's edge. great for little ones

Well kept. great hike with kids.

Lovey trail! Scenic, well maintained with ample signage. Leashed animals allowed.

Awesome for a short walk. Very well maintained

Fun quick stroll in a gorgeous forest. Almost nobody there on a nice saturday! Not difficult by any means but very pretty spot.

Great family hike. We did this hike with a five year old and a 4 year old. We suggest you take the side trail to the point where the view of the sound was great.

Good trail, Really easy hike. Good for little kids. The road leading up to it is horrible though.
