I’ve lived in the area most of my 26 years and never knew about this place. Definitely one of my new favorite watkins glen spots
The waterfalls are beautiful. Very peaceful, no one to be seen the whole time I was out. Might have to get into some risky spots to get good views, worth it though!
Park says it’s closed for the season. No one stopped me. Mostly dry today but could be super icy depending on the weather.
I followed this route - part of the FLT, but could only view the falls from afar. You would have to creekwalk up from 414 to get to the falls, which I wasn’t going to attempt in winter.
Beautiful falls ! Very careful down by water , a lots of ice.
Very short, but beautiful falls!
Nice trail at the back of a great little park. Beautiful views of falling water all the way back to Eagle Cliff. The water was low enough that I was able to walk across some rocks to get behind the falls. Probably a great place to cool off on a hot summer day. ** Heads up to folks with their dogs... there are two flights of metal stairs... easy for a dog to climb but coming down can be tricky. I had my 50’ AmStaff with me and I had to use the handle on her harness to guide her down.
Trail heads into woods and starts off easy but gets steep and tricky when wet. Side trails to get closer to water are just as tricky when wet. The falls can be viewed from the trail before it gets steep but the payoff comes after the climb. Doesn’t take long so definitely worth a quick stop.
Loved the very short hike. Beautiful views!
Not worth it. Pluses: short and well-marked Minuses: walk isn’t that interesting and the payoff is a stream bed with a small waterfall - vaguely pretty but given the area not worth the walk. I did the trail as outlined here. There’s a dotted line that goes down the creek to the highway that based on comments and my observations does not exist. If it does it’s likely not blazed and literally walking up the creek. I saw it from the highway but no pull-off or signage or blaze from the head that I could see.
Buyer beware on this one. It’s basically a scramble on a muddy, slippery bank up the side of the stream. Not long and waterfalls are really pretty but be careful!! Also there are no trespassing signs all over the place to right of the trail but given there are signs, a parking area and a trash can at the start I’m guessing that means to not wander off to the right.
This hike should be done during the spring of after heavy rain, the falls dry up fast. The first waterfall is very close to the road and in my option the prettiest of the three. Once you reach the second waterfall cross the stream and scramble up the side, this will take you around the second falls. Creek walk to the third waterfall which is the tallest and most impressive because of it's height. There are lots of downed trees along the way but all are easy to get over or around. You have to be a little adventurous but this route will take you to the base of all three waterfalls.
Very pretty waterfall with very little effort to get to.
Short but beautiful
Short easy trail. Beautiful natural setting. Would have given a higher rating if it were not for the unruly teenagers
Easy to access. The falls are dry as we have not gotten a lot of rain lately. Overall an nice easy hike and well marked.
Hidden gem, easy yet beautiful and simple
its really one waterfall but it cascades into 3
Quick little climb to an awesome waterfall
Trail is short; it only goes to the foundation of what was probably a mill. Then you have to take the social trail up and back down to get to the best falls. Lots of water despite the drought. Beautiful with the fall leaves!
Plenty of water even with the drought, but I'd love to come back when the falls are fuller. No swimming due to COVID. We didn't see anyone the whole time we were on the trail. Well worth the $2 if you're going to picnic, swim, etc., not so much if you're just going to see the falls. We biked in, so we didn't have to park.
It was absolutely beautiful! We ended up having the waterfall to ourselves for about 10-15 minutes before we saw other people. Also a beautiful proposal happened!
Just OK. Easy and not much water running.
