Make sure to go clockwise for easier hike. We hiked counterclockwise and it was tough but still manageable. Love everything this hike offers.

really nice hike beautiful Lush Green Hills and plenty of pretty views including the waterfall!

Great hike, dog and kid friendly, went in the winter and it seemed really easy. The water was cold but you have a lot of places you can get into. I know our lab loved it.

Very good and easy hike. The first time we went in the summer and it was super hot so we took lots of breaks. This time it was a breeze and our 6 month old Lab loved it. Def a lot better in the winter than the summer. Great spots at the falls for a picnic and very kid and dog friendly. The upper and middle trail isn’t good for strollers so stick to the lower falls trail. We love Beale Falls because it’s super duper close to base and makes a great family day. If your from Cali or Stationed here like us. This is a must for Beale.

Hiked the day after a big rain so the trails were suuuuper muddy and slippery. Water was also a little too high so tough to get into the cave. Would recommend it for a dry day though! Very quiet tail on January Thursday.

Easy hike overall with rock scramble right when you get to the top. Beautiful views from the top. Lightly trafficked throughout.

The trail to the falls is very clean and well taken care and the falls are amazing when you see them. Only problem is people with dogs running loose. We were almost bitten today by a off leash dog when we were on the trail to the falls. Have a watchful eye for loose dogs but worth the hike.

I love this trail! I’ve been down it several times with a mountain bike and onfoot. Great views, nice distance for a good work out, you could bring a snack or some water in the light as it takes 2.5 hrs at a good clip. The distance on this seem to be off base of my apple series 4 watch with GPS. I will attach a screenshot of my route.

My husband and I attempted this hike about five years ago in the middle of July. Needless to say, we didn't make it very far without feeling overheated. We decided to try it out New Year's Day. It was a perfect day to go see the falls. I would definitely say it's much easier in the wintertime, but if you go early enough in the summer you should be good and you'll find great spots for swimming. It is quite a bit of a drive from Yuba City or Grass Valley, but I like that because less people are apt to go there. Some pretty views if you like the rolling hills.

Very nice California wintertime hike. I love the waterfalls and and the beautiful rolling foothills

Best hike. I have been doing this hike since I was a kid and now get to explore it with my boyfriend and dog. Tiny section with rock climbing but amazing areas where you can jump into the river

did this trail over the summer, everything was dried up. So summer time is not the time to go! would bet spring time would be best!

Hiked this trail years ago, great experience for a new hiker. It was my first hike. Hiked the shorter trail up to the falls, it was challenging for my first time. Worth it though when we made it to the falls. Took the longer route back, much easier for beginners.

Awesome!!!! Nobody was there. (on a Sunday afternoon). Keep in mind it's a dirt path off the main road and there's a lot of ditches. When you park, you walk for about a quarter off a mile, then you start going down hill.

December on this trail is awesome. No one around, but still able to make out the path. Waterfall is iced over but scrambling up it wasn’t too bad. Really enjoyed the peace and different falls you hit as you climb.

Hiked this back in September. Took the lower trail to the falls and the upper trail returning. The lower trail needed some upkeep. There were parts that were washed out and fallen trees that required maneuvering to get around. The insects were constant and my husband and I spent the entire hike out there madly swatting at buzzing creatures. The falls were gorgeous. Hike back was longer but fewer flying friends. About 4 hours total.

Trail was easy to follow. The waterfall was running nice due to the recent snow/rain fall. Had a couple decent photo ops. Overall, if you’re a beginner, you won’t find this trail too difficult.

Great hike, the rock scramble by the waterfall is terrible. Once you get through it evens out a lot and is so much better.

On the way down you can crab walk or butt scoot next to the waterfall for the first portion. Its a little dangerous and I only recommend it for advanced hikers. You get down a lot faster and its so much more fun than the rock scramble. Be safe and watch out for smooth granite. This hike is great and is really pretty. Goodluck and have fun!

You’ll definitely loose the trail a bit. Great swimming holes to explore near Ropi.

Super fun hike with my mom, my 8 year old, and carrying my 4 month old. We went only about 1.8 in before turning back. I didn’t know what to expect with the “falls” and found it to be jaw dropping. Look for trail markers on trees to stay on trail. Beautiful views of lake as well.

wow robert york sounds like a real dbag.

this was an easy well maintained trail. Enjoyed lunch while cooling off in one of the many fresh water holes

This has been my favorite hike so far. Beautiful scenery!

We did this trail mid October and the fall colors were spectacular! There were spots where the trial was not so clear, the sights were surely worth it. The falls and swimming holes looked so inviting and beautiful. I would suggest just keeping your eyes open for rock stacking, ribbon, and tree markers if you choose to do this hike.

Just did this hike today and was nice little hike. Only about 5 miles. Falls was beautiful. No people and free parking. Dirt road driving is rough so take proper vehicle.

We hiked this last April and it was gorgeous. At the time lots of poison oak and the trails were washed out on lower section.

The water in the cave is never warm, regardless of the time of year. But very beautiful if you are brave enough to go through. Bring water shoes! This is not a running trail unless you want to bust an ankle.

Like many have said there are trees down on both sides of the loop, not to hard to climb over though. On the lower sections how ever one of the gorges that had a small stream running across that path got blocked debris and diverted the street down along the trail. So roughly 15 yards or so of the trail is washed out. In addition to some other erosion further along at another point that makes the trail very narrow on a pretty steep hill. If you’re thinking of doing the loop it’s advisable that you stay on the upper part.
Took about four hours to complete. Beautiful view at the end and along the way.

The water in the cave was numbingly cold mid-October but me and my 5 yr old still dared to jump in. It was an easy hike and a nice time down in the cave. Very fun, family friendly hike. Take towels and a floating device if you plan to brave the waters.
