The trail was nice, kinda spooky and quiet, we went on a rainy day. I was thinking we would see a bear with all the warning signs. It was pretty.

Follow the instructions for getting to the trail- it’s not just off HWY 64 like everything else. Also, bring cash - even your National Parks senior pass won’t pay the bill here- $2 I think. The trail had some steep spots, but not too many. Thick mats of roots made for some questionable footing and the recent rains created squishy/muddy spots. We didn’t see anyone on the trail.

I consider this a fairly easy-moderate trail which is well marked. Accessible from both Flat Mountain Road and Cliffside it is not heavily traveled. This year, due to all the rain, the falls have more water than I have seen before, the numerous creek crossings are wet and parts of the trail are fairly muddy. Hiking slowly with a dog in training it takes an hour. Moving a a i encumbered pace it can be done in 45 mins without stopping. Mostly wooded, lots of rhododendrons it’s a lovely undulating hike.

This was my favorite trail so far. Yes it takes a while to get to the waterfall but it was worth it. The waterfall was so beautiful.

Gorgeous trail. Has some steep difficult parts to get down to the falls, but well worth it! Loved the trail.

My husband and I walked the trail from end to beginning and enjoyed every aspect of it. We already have fishing licenses so that wasn’t an issue. The river was lovely and the trail was a nice hike, not very long but not too short. It just needs a little bit of maintenance in some spots but we will definitely come back. During the week it is a place to go for a quick quiet hike.

Gorgeous, powerful falls. Short paved hike and stairs but you are able to go behind this majestic beauty.

WalkingGreat!

Excellent trail. The falls at the end are beautiful. There is a very nice overlook platform if you stay to the right and don't cross the bridge. I attached photos of these features. The trail head has ample parking and a restroom. Parking is generally $5 but in mid September was being waved due to Covid. The trail is rated moderate due to the roots and uneven conditions IMHO. I think it would be a great trail for kids, dogs, and the majority of hikers.

Nature trips

Beautiful narrow trail weaving through the mountain sides. Took the kids and grandparents and everyone enjoyed the hike. We’re able to play in the falls which were easy to access with all the moss growing on the rocks. Saw a few snacks on the rocks in the water, harmless water snakes. Great day and hike.

Nice, easy, kid friendly trail. We wouldn’t rate this as moderate. We feel it is easy and we aren’t hard core hikers. We passed several older couples who weren’t even breathing hard. We identified a lot of mushrooms on our Seek app, even one that was dangerously poisonous. It was upsetting that some dog owners left their poop bags and poop itself on the trail but other than that we enjoyed it.

I frequent this trail. It is well maintained and can be pretty popular. I recommend arriving early and getting in your hiking before too many other show up. If you go down to the falls, you'll run into a lot of people, but the true beauty of this trail is going around and down all the other bits of trail, not just the main loop. The trail is mostly covered and there's some deer that regular hang out in the woods. One thing to know, the parking is super limited.

For Labor Day weekend, the trail was great!! It wasn’t too crowded. The trail was shaded and nice to hike! The waterfall was a little crowded, but not bad. The trail was easy to follow with maps periodically on the trail. It was a great hike and a great day!!!

Nice shaded trail for a warmer Atlanta day. Very popular / busy on a Holiday weekend. Followed the 3.5 mile loop with the waterfall near the halfway point. The waterfall was definitely the highlight. Enjoyed it and will do again.
