Quick trail! The steps are harder than they look though! Gorgeous falls. I personally enjoyed Makestic falls better of the 2. Will definitely do again in the summer time!

Such a beautiful hike on a crisp winter morning I recommend this hike to anyone! So many beautiful waterfalls

It was a beautiful and relaxing hike! I highly recommend hitting the trail later in the morning, when the sun shines through the trees and the morning dew begins to burn off.

great family hike. can be muddy at times and slippery in some spots. still a great and beautiful hike.

Beautiful and scenic hike to do in the winter time; but the difficulty level goes from easy to moderate when there’s snow and ice.
A “must try” hike, when snow has fallen!
Micro spikes or something similar highly suggested!

easy hike with a wonderful ending!!!

Didn’t make it to the falls, vehicle was not sufficiently equipped for snow. The road leading to the falls is paved and narrow, and currently has a decent layer of ice and snow. Vehicles without snow tires or chains should proceed with extreme caution.

You absolutely need traction devices on your boots. We passed person who fell and possibly broke a arm. It's a ice trail over rocks and tree roots so I recommend two treking poles to help prevent tripping, snow shoes that don't have a aggressive track on the side won't get a good bite over rocks. There was a back up at the boulder field from unprepared hikers without traction devices. My wife used micro spikes by Kahtoola I used ice trekkers diamond grippers by yaktraks. If cost if a factor check and for kids check out Stabilgear brand of microspikes at P-rkrose hardware for $19.

Did this during a wind storm on 7 December 2018. Reversing the route gave a much steeper ascent and is not recommend. Some of the trail is still beautiful, some waterfalls are amazing, but the essential beauty of several segments was lost to the fire.

Nice walk and a beautiful waterfall!

Not a fan of the road getting there, but the falls are amazing and totally worth it all.

Beautiful forestry and an amazing waterfall.

Nice and easy walk. Nice and clean trail with a few falls. It's cool to be able to go behind the last one and just listen.

Got there later in the afternoon so thankfully we missed all the tourist hikers.
Great for my 2 year old but again just too popular of a site to go more than once every few years.

pretty falls

My first Oregon trail to hike. Really pretty Hike with a gorgeous waterfall at the end. Hiked this trail in September. Perfect weather that day

Very interesting how the water flows out of the rocks.

Plenty of parking, pretty muddy. But pretty

Great hike, tons of waterfalls. Beautiful scenery despite scorched landscape at certain points.

This is a great winter-time hike! We took our 5 month old puppy to experience her first snow and we couldn’t be happier. The views were amazing and there was plenty of snow to play around in.

Gorgeous hike but microspikes are a must if you go during this time of year.

beautiful even in the winter. highly recommend microspikes.

Beautiful view of the waterfall and Lake. Did this hike a few years back. I would do it again.
For such a short hike it seemed like we were so far away when we got to the lake and falls. We were tempted to keep going on another trail we saw at the lake but since we were on our way back home we decided it wouldn’t be a good idea not knowing how far and how long it would take.

Went and hiked out to the waterfall with my wife on 4 Jan. Trail was muddy is some spots, but nothing severe. The suspension bridge was fun to cross and I enjoyed the lower view of the fall, which is going strong this time of year.

The hike was short and easy, even with the optional North Loop trail. Boots recommended.

a little soggy, but i dont mind that in a trail. the falls are so full right now, the best part of the trail is listening to the flowing water of the river or a fall in front or behind ya. will definitely hike this again!

Beautiful beautiful hike!

Really short but well worth the trip. The wife and kids, ages 5 & 6, made it through with ease. I actually carried my one year old through the hike.

Beautiful easy hike. The elevation is gradually and comes on at a steady pace. Took my wife and kids. Ages 5 and 6. My one year old went into my Phil and teds carrier and onto my back. Highly recommended.

Hiked today (Jan-5, Sat), arrived around 11am, there is not much parking but was plenty of space today, not a high season. Trail is easy and in a pretty good condition, muddy sometimes, but nothing bad. Main challenge was the Hannan Creek crossing near the falls. There is a fork and loop on the second part of the trail, you can go left or right, both trails go to the falls. I took the left trail and that was a mistake, creek crossing on the left side was worse than on the right, it was not easy to cross without getting wet. There are some logs and rocks but pretty slippery and you have to jump. I wish I had my poles with me just for this crossing, left mine in the car for this easy hike.

My suggestion - take the right trail, there is a crashed car right after the fork, so you will know what place I am talking about. Creek crossing is smaller on this side and there is a big tree over it, which you can use for easy crossing. Then after the falls you can try the other side of the trail to go back, if you can’t make the crossing there, it’s not far at all to return and go back the same way. And, as I mentioned, poles will be helpful for creek crossing. Unless you are fine with wading through the creek and get wet.
