Waterfall at the trail head is beautiful, however the gorge trail is closed for the winter.

Wear metal crampons if hiking in the winter. This trail is extremely slick with ice. Wear warm clothes and proper hiking attire. Stay away from the edges as there is ice under the snow and it is very easy to slip. It’s a long way to the bottom.

I was really excited to try this hike, but unfortunately the reserve was closed. Yellow tape and the like. There were signs saying when they would reopen.

Will try again when I am back in that part of the state.

It was a very challenging trail, it took 4 hours to get up in 3 hours to get down. Snow shoes are a must with the snowy and icy conditions. Over all it was a great hike and I would definitely do it again.

Strenuous hike, but not too much so. Was my friend's first high peak! Took us about 6 hours round trip.

Took my sister here in spring and the falls were great. Easy walk though very muddy.

Nice trail and well maintained. Very end of the red loop has a blue loop not worth adding- takes you to a gravel pit and a culvert. Along the ridges entirely flat, with some up and downs at the ends.

Did this yesterday...Lots of ice but so fun. This hike was not for the faint of heart though.

A nice walk. Great for kids and beginners. Very busy, don’t come looking for solitude.

Very nice hike. Some challenging parts. Climbs up and down the ravine and a few creek crossings which were a bit tricky because there was some ice on the rocks. Beautiful waterfalls. Dogs on and off leash. Easy to get off the trail...watch the markers.

not the easiest with icy conditions , beautiful waterfalls on the way up to the main trail.

Loved this trail! The lake was gorgeous and so peaceful. Very easy and would be a great hike for kids.

Interestingly, I used this trailhead by accident...I was actually aiming for the primary trailhead and the ridge trail. About 2/3 of the way up, I'm asking my wife and daughter "Where are the views that were supposed to be all along this route?" But, even so, we weren't disappointed. And yes, the last .7 mi is a killer. But well worth the views at the top!

Amazing hike! Rocky, technical, amazing views at the top. We had three dogs with us some hard parts to do w a dog but not impossible! Windy at the top make sure to bring a jacket if you want to stay up there for awhile.

Great for tween boys who love to explore. Really a gem in @syracuse

Definitely not moderate. Very easy trail. Easy enough for all ages. Great little water fall. You can even jump from behind the water fall & go for a swim (although there are no swimming signs). Great spot to picknick or just hang with family/friends on a summer day. My boyfriend & I actually met here.

Super easy hike & the falls here are absolutely beautiful !

Super easy short hike but worth it the waterfall is breath taking it should be on everyone’s bucket list

Lots of falls, each one better than the last

nice place for a family day ,waterfalls are beautiful

The falls are very close to parking. You just go down a bunch of stairs. But there are great trails that are really well marked. Easy hiking, I went on a rainy, cold fall day and no one else was out there! Awesome!

Beware that no dogs are allowed and this restriction is strictly enforced. The parking is across the highway from the Roaring Brook access to Giant Mt. and is at the southerly of the two junctions of Rt. 73 and Ausable Rd. (not "Ausable Club Rd.") On a busy weekend, you will likely have to park on the highway. From the parking area, walk 1/2-mile up the road past a golf course. Just before reaching he large clubhouse, turn left and down between two tennis courts to the gate house and trail register.

if your not from the area be warned it is on private property, but the family doesn't seem to mind people use it.

It's a great hike with spectacular views but you really have to look for the blue trail markers in some spots, especially near the brook. What a great view at the summit!!
