Really pretty trail. The autumn leaves truly made this hike seem yellow. A few easy stream crossings, I was glad to have a hiking pole though. The waterfall at the end is beautiful. About a 200 foot elevation gain on the way back from the falls. The hike from the falls back to the car took us 35 minutes.

Decent hike! Far away view from the falls, but nice overlook spot to picnic

Marginal at best.......not the greatest or the most beautiful falls but easy for all family members to accomplish. The trail is marked well.

Easy walk to viewing area. We didn't have any issues with downed trees at all. Beautiful falls!

Super fun! Pretty easy hike and we saw a few people camping

Yes, better views than Clingman's Dome!

Short Jaunt to the viewing platform...nice waterfall. We did not go down below the falls, looks rather difficult if conditions are wet.

We had a great time making this a two day trip and camping. Only negative experience was since a recent rain a lot of the trail was swampy.. but that is my only complaint! had a great time.. even in 36 degree wet weather! thanks! I would have a map for a couple areas, we hit a couple different trails to see things.

Not too long, not too short to Yellow Branch Falls with a few creek crossings. Easy hike on the way to the falls, and easy/moderate on way back (due to elevation gain from climbing back out of the valley). There are flats along the way to recover. I hiked it on a cooler/dry day with my 22 month old son strapped to me in our Osprey carrier and there were a few ares where I had some slightly elevated breathing and some burning quads, but not too bad. Pack a lunch because there is ample space near the falls to relax, enjoy the view, and refuel. I also passed about 5 other hiking groups along the way (on a Wednesday afternoon) so it does see some traffic. The trails is also well maintained.

Went on a hike with my wife and six and seven year old girls on 10/19/2018. The hike was pretty easy and quite enjoyable but we were disappointed in the view of the waterfall. Be aware that when you actually get close to the waterfall, you’re pretty much just hiking parallel to the falls and gradually making your way down the mountain and never actually heading to the base of the falls. We started at the Bad Creek parking lot and didn’t even complete the entire hike. Maybe about 80-90% of the hike as marked on this app. On the way back, we took the gravel road instead because we were in a hurry to head back due to losing daylight with my two young girls. Overall, the difficulty of the hike was easy. No climbing involved and the trail doesn’t get too steep at all. The trail is marked well enough and maintained. Easy enough for six and seven year old girls. Like I mentioned, the only reason we didn’t make it was due to losing light.

love this one!

Parking is at camp ground parking. Walk down gravel road a ways until you see the trail.head sign for the falls. The walk to the falls was beautiful. Very wooded, lots of ferns, roots to walk over, under canopy all the way with small creek running alongside part of the way. The falls were more than we anticipated. Nice short walk for a beautiful fall.

We didn’t go to the end of trail but saw it from the top. We parked where the Falls restaurant is and took a path down a little way. Would have gave a Better rating if I wouldn’t have been lazy and went to the bottom.

This waterfall is breathtaking! We couldn’t find the trailhead so we went down the gravel road about .3 mile to where the campground is... then the trail will be on the left a little passed the map sign...It is a awesome hike under trees from that point..Some places on trail are slick and narrow so be careful with children . We came only to hike to waterfall but ended up camping at their walk in campsites. They are first come first serve and free! They have fire pits and bear hangs for food so bears cannot get your food! There is a pit restroom which is very gross.. but everyone has to go sometime. Loved this Falls and the free campsite!

The reason I only gave this hike 3 stars is because I enjoy being close to the waterfalls instead of seeing them far away.. It’s not a long hike but it is downhill the whole way and then you have to hike back up. I wouldn’t do this one again.

STAY RIGHT!! The trail wasn't marked very well and the roadside parking was a little sketchy. However, the falls were very pretty and worth the hike! There is an upper and lower section of the falls, so I would encourage you to check out both! The last little bit is pretty step, so be ready.

Great little day hike. More easy than moderate.

Beautiful hike! Just a little disappointed when the lower falls went to a overlook!! Does anybody know how to reach to the base of the whitewater falls?

Great hike with well marked trail. Waterfall is beautiful.

I love this trail but it is not for everyone .. first fall you must walk across tree to get there and the. Rest climb along tree roots and mountainsides .. I saw a lot of disappointed people that couldn’t get to the falls :(

Took the longer trail that connects with Mountain to see trail. It is an awesome hike.

From Oconee State Park the first mile and a half was extremely easy, after that was a little more up and down hill but still fairly easy. Beautiful waterfall at the end! Great place for a rest and picnic. Did this hike in about 2 hours.

Good hike but the view from observation deck was not very exciting. If your looking to get closer to a waterfall choose a different trail.

Great views at the top! Also very windy! Paved until close to the top, rocks could be a little slippery.

Cool trail as always!! Wish the leaves we're turning, but AWESOME anyway!!

Short walk to an absolutely beautiful fall! My Jeep Compass performed perfectly on the dirt drive to the location. Lots of mushrooms and pretty ferns to view along the walk. Overnight camping is permitted in select areas surrounding the waterfall if you wish. I cannot wait to walk this one again in the winter!

I love the view from this short hike. It is paved up most of the way. A little upward but go slow if you need to, not strenuous. I would suggest a clear day to see the wonderful views from here.

Fantastic hike to a beautiful waterfall! Not too difficult 1.5 mile one way. Creek crossings, wild flowers. Will be gorgeous in peak fall color season with all the hardwoods!

Easy to moderate hike. Well worth the time an energy. Waterfall was nice but you see it across the gorge. Nice half day hike.

Enjoyed the hike! Was just right for my 1st hike. Beautiful view!
