LOVED this hike. Took about 2.5 hours round trip and it was so worth it.

decent quick hike. hiked in, had lunch and enjoyed the falls. easy trail with a little elevation. saw toddlers having no issue.

This is an awesome trail for a quick hike.

Anyone giving this a bad review probably just has a bad attitude.

The falls are beautiful, and there are some great views.

Sunday afternoon was a great time to do this. I only ran into a few people.

beautiful hike all the way through and the prize at the end the waterfall perfect.

did this hike today. very steep in places very beautiful wooded hike with the sound of the river always near and the falls at the end was amazing. well worth the hike.

I agree with Chris, this is more of a moderate trail. By the end my friend and I were very sore. The pain was well worth seeing the falls. Take lots of water!

great hike with great views!! made for a nice escape from the smokey valley too. there is one spot that was a bit sketchy, but our dog did it no problem. you basically climb up some trees roots hanging over the trail. the falls were so cold, so I don't recommend standing under them. ;) and the flowers were beautiful too!!! I'd definitely do this one again.

fun destination hike with a great payoff. falls were amazing. most of the trail is fairly ez, but there are a couple of steep sections.
took the whole family, my 9 year old struggled just a bit.
took 2 hours.
GPS had it at 4.3 miles.

Great trail. It's well covered and stays pretty cool. The slightly steeper parts are well staggered, good exercise but not too difficult. Very beautiful location.

Pretty out of shape (trying to work my way into shape haha) and was worried about the reviews that mentioned how steep it was. It's more of a long gradual steep than a straight-up-the-mountain thing. I thought this was the perfect distance since right around when you start feeling exhausted from all the uphill you hear the falls and you know you're close. Agree with the other reviews that mention there's a bit of scrambling to get down to the base of the falls, though we were lucky enough to not encounter any stinging nettle like others mentioned. Really not bad at all. A good portion of the trail is actually paved which is nice on the way down so you aren't so worried about where you're stepping to avoid hitting a rock and rolling an ankle. We did this with our dog and only encountered a couple other people on the trail on a Sunday afternoon around 4:30-5 pm starting time. Super enjoyable, most hikes I do and then hate the whole way down and am likely to never return since I've done it once, but this is one I plan to do again, hopefully soon! Honestly couldn't recommend it more!

This is my favorite hike of the season. I’ve done Cecret Lake, Big Baldy, Silver Lake and Battle Creek Falls. I’d give it a 5* if it wasn’t for the amateurs hiking on the trail. If you see a trail runner, move over and let them pass. Falls were refreshing and great to cool off under before I headed back down.

Beautiful hike! Everything was green and lush on the trail. Lots of people coming down from seeing the sunrise on Timp but the trail wasn't too crowded. When we got to the falls there was only one other small group there so we got some peace and quiet and cooled off next to the water. Our little dog loved it too! Good hike for families and people of all ages!

We loved this trail! I went with my brother and 6 month baby in a carrier. We tried it once in the heat of the day and couldn’t make it with my daughter but tried again in the morning and it was perfect for all of us. Make sure you to take the right at the first fork. There is a part where you have to climb up some tree roots but it was not too bad. There were several elderly people who were hiking it just fine. In total it was about 2-2.5 hours round trip. (With lots of time enjoying the falls.)

Great hike. A little steep at places.

Fun hike! We went mid-day and we're grateful to have some occasional shade. I would recommend doing this hike in the morning when it is not as hot. The waterfall is definitely worth it when you get there!

This trail is marked “easy” but it is not!! It is definitely “moderate” and if you are an inexperienced hiker, possibly even “difficult “. There are rocks and tree roots to navigate especially along the last section leading to the falls. And it is a challenge for small children. Most kids under 7 that I saw on the trail were not happy. One 3 year old was afraid of how high up we were along part of the trail and cried for a good part of it

Now all that being said, it is a beautiful hike!! Lots of shade, wildflowers (even in dry July), scenic views across the mountains and the waterfall did not disappoint!! Just be prepared with water and snacks, especially if you have kids with you.

It was a pretty boring trail until you hit the creek which was a lot more fun. Pretty view of bridal veil but nothing you can’t see from the highway. No one else on the trail which was nice. The stone couch was a nice place for a picnic.

I completely agree that this hike should not be categorized as ‘easy’. However, it was well worth the hike. Beautiful falls.

Absolutely gorgeous. Should not be rated easy but it depends on which parts you hike.

Beautiful scenery.

Incredible views! Stunning evening hike, beautiful all around, with the perfect amount of challenge!

AllTrails rates it as easy. I’d say more moderate between easy and intermediate at 3.9 miles with 650 feet altitude gain, lots of up and down, dusty portions with a couple of tricky rock fields. Mostly not too tough but not for young children (saw lots of parents carrying little ones) or older adults.

I found a knife on the trail today. Post a review saying what color/brand it is if you’re the one that lost it.

This hike is actually 4 miles round trip. Had a blast going under the waterfall even though it was so cold it took my breath away. We hit the trail just before 8AM on Pioneer Day and it wasn't very busy and we arrived at the falls within an hour. By the time we decided to leave the falls it was a different story! The trail became very crowded with both people and dogs (mostly off leash). I would call this trail Moderate. There is quite a bit uphill. But it is doable. The waterfall is beautiful as well.

I'm fat and out of shape but I made it to the first falls. It was beautiful. You have to scramble up some rocks if you want to get in the little pool that the waterfall feeds. The trail had beautiful views of Timp with many wilflowers and we must have seen about 100 butterflies. There is some stinging nettle near the falls so just be careful. Someday when I'm in better shape I hope to go on to the second falls which I hear is a little further up the trail.

Short and sweet. A good, easy option for families if you just need to get out of the house for a bit.

Great trail with several different types of trails, the app says 5.6 Miles but it is more like 6.8. The views are great and the walk back is much easier than getting up there! Took about 4 hours and we spent time enjoying the scenes along the way.

Quick walk, no real ending destination, just weeping rocks along the river. You have to cross it to reach them.

Much nicer trail road compared with Battle Creek - better views also. Highly recommended. Maybe back in fall time.
