One of the best hikes I’ve been on. The view at the very top was definitely worth the climb. The hike was mostly uphill the whole way with ropes to help you climb the steep edges of the mountain near the top. Coming down from the hike was tough in running shoes due to the steepness and loose ground. We were the only group at the top so got to enjoy the scenic view to ourselves. Would definitely recommend!

Did this with my 8-year old granddaughter and son and we all had lots of fun!!

amazingly beautiful hike with lots to stop and take in. took our 3.5 year old and he did great. lots of steep edges to be aware of.

Probably would’ve given this 4 stars if it weren’t for the crowds. The trail is short and easy, so it’s hard to spread out from others, especially at the end. The trail is very pretty though, although we found the trail 7-8 miles before it off the road to be nicer just in terms of serenity as well the rainforest type scenery (the name escapes me).

one of the most beautiful trails when wildflowers are at their peak. downside...mosquitoes. Even with Deet, the bite through cloths

It was nice, very easy little hike out to the lookout decks.

Wow! That was up there with one of the scariest things I have ever done, this hike is not for the faint hearted but the views were spectacular! I only gave it four stars purely because of how scary some of the rope climbs were.

This is such a beautiful area. We loved wandering through the rainforest with our three kids: 6,4,2

easy short hike to beautiful falls, the mosquitos/flys were bad (use bug repellent or where long sleeves.) this is a very well maintained, very trafficked trail. visited during a Monday afternoon at the end of July and the trail / parking lot were packed.

It is muddy and slippery in some places, but the view points at the end are spectacular. We got to see nesting Murres and listen to their cute calls.

This is a fun hike and if you want a nice view of Lake Crescent and, further in the distance, Canada then definitely do it. I hiked it in a group of 7 people with a few that don’t hike too often and we stayed together just fine. Trail is extremely well maintained but is easy to get to so be prepared to be sharing your spot at the top with a couple other people (not a lot, but probably atleast 2 or 3). Took us about 1.5 hours to get up, stopped for half and hour at the top for lunch and to take in the view, and got down in a little over 45 minutes. Again, the trail is really well maintained so if you like going down hill jogging/running this is a good trail for it as visibility is completely clear and there was nothing blocking the trail at any point.
As many others suggested here, if you want a nice cool down after getting to the bottom, if you turn left instead of right to head back towards the lake you can meander over to the waterfall which is a completely flat “trail” with a couple nice bridges.
Overall would recommend. Not an astounding view but it was beautiful and made for a good morning. Kids could probably do it if they are used to hiking but it is a lot of switchbacks so they might tire out easy, especially in the heat.

Beautiful wildflowers! Reasonably even and not-too-steep trail. The bugs bit us up pretty badly, even with bug spray, so I recommend long sleeves. Quite busy parking lot (probably 8-10 people waiting in the bathroom line at any time), and lots of people and dogs on the trail.

This is awesome trail with excellent view. I agree with all the post that last portion with rope helps on step slippery slop but it's not that difficult. while coming down it was easier i position as if I am going up it helped.
View of lake and mountains was gorgeous, I did first thing in the morning as sun was coming up it lighten up the view.
I would definitely recommend this trail and would do it aging.

Beautiful beach to wander around. A few cool rock croppings to explore and climb on. There was also a giant pile of accumulated drift trees between trail end and beach we had to climb over - some areas easier than others.

looks like it dropped right out of a book. amazing place!!!

Gorgeous views!! Lots of mosquitos bring bug spray. Otherwise, perfect family hike :)

Not really a hike per se, but definitely worth a stop if you’re out this way.

Beautiful hike, especially if you go when the wildflowers are at their peak. Good for any level hiker and has beautiful views of Mt Rainer...when it’s not cloudy.

We had a wonderful day on the trail. 4.5 hours to do the full loop with 4 little kids with us ages 2,4,6 & 8. The youngest was carried in an ergo some of the way but walked most of it. We ended up going counter clockwise so the hard elevation was first. This is definitely the more challenging way to go. Stopped for an hour break for lunch at the top. Beautiful views.

Great views, and moderate level of difficulty if you’re not used to hiking. Easy otherwise and beautiful.

We hit the Naches Peak Loop trail today, it was beautiful, weather was perfect a slight breeze. traffic on the trail was pretty heavy for a Wednesday but not a problem. there are several small lakes on this trail that add to the beauty. I recommend, like others do, to hike the trail counterclockwise. after approx. 2 miles you will have incredible views of Rainier in front of you! Found some ripe blueberries just past the outlook over Dewey lake. Also saw a Fisher near lake Tipsoo! What a great Hike, God's creation is majestic!

Hiked on Sunday, July 29th. There are a few places to park to begin this trail, but we chose to park at the Tipsoo Lake parking lot. We arrived at 9:20AM and the parking lot was about 2/3rds full.

Trail is in good condition, with the only obstacle really being one downed tree near the start of the trail (if going clockwise). For concern of any hikers with unsteady footing, there are some limited sections where the trail is narrow with some drop-offs, but otherwise, quite safe and steady.

We hiked going counter-clockwise - if you choose to go this direction, you'll reach the peak early (about 1/3rd of the way) but that also means the elevation gain comes immediately.

You will encounter a lot of bugs throughout the entirety of the hike. That coupled with the hot weather in the sun, would recommend completely covering yourself (sleeves, long pants), wearing a hat. Do not forget your bug spray at home.

Hike is easy with Amazing views..
lots of mosquito so use bug spray a lot!

One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever been on! It’s a pretty easy hike to the falls. We were hoping to get married in front of the falls, but when we got there to check out the location around the end of June it was very very wet and muddy.
