Washington Hikes Map

What an amazing view!!!!! It was a great hike to the top!

Our favorite trail in seattle. Nice lake. It gets busy specially on weekends. Finding a parking spot is very challenging. Super dog friendly. Most of the dogs are off leash. Gets really muddy so wear proper footwear. Also you can hangout and chill on the cliffs. It has a few good spots.

I loved the hike and the view but it was very busy today and it's Monday

Such a beautiful hike! My friend and I love it!

Beautiful hike. We can hear the pleasant sound of water falls all along the hike. You’ll see lower falls, middle falls, and upper falls. We went up to middle falls and Valley overlook. There’s also a bike path all the way to upper falls.

Sunrise hike here is amazing!

Visited last summer and the views were UNREAL. We did the loop in a clockwise direction, heading left at the trailhead; if you hike this way, then all of the elevation gain is done in the first mile or so and there are views the rest of the hike as well as a downward slope the rest of the 6 or so miles. Conversely, if you hike the loop counterclockwise, there will be a lot more uphill hiking as the elevation gain is spread out over the miles.

A short, relatively easy hike with a big payoff! The views were better than we expected and Rattlesnake Lake was turquoise green from the top. Took us about 45 minutes up. Trail was in great condition, and there are pit toilets at the park below. The only negative part of the hike for me was the trial etiquette. Lots of music blaring (instead of enjoying the sounds of nature), litter on the trail, and loud hikers. People goof off at the top near the cliffs.

Beautiful Views, trafficked, good season opener.

It’s a long hike but the lake is beautiful. The water reflects the surroundings and it looks like a mirror.

Well maintained trail that pretty much is up switchbacks to the lake. Starts off up right away and then after the lookout is uphill. Lake is very pretty and a great place for lunch. The backside is beautiful with boulder towering over your head. Lots of people and dogs on a Saturday.

Super dog friendly! Just keep them leashed. Saw several today not leashed and owners not seeming to care that they disturbed other hikers. :/ The trail was clean, wide snd easy to navigate with a steady upward incline nearly 95% of the time. Great views from the ledge! A bit cloudy today with slight snow flurries, but it went away quickly leaving a partial view of Mt Si. Would certainly visit this trail again!

Like the others, watch for the tide schedule! It’s truly a beautiful scene and definitely worthwhile. I went with my grandfather who had no trouble walking down to the water! It’s a fairly easy trail and a popular one as well - we went on the weekend) and it was somewhat difficult to find parking. Definitely would return whenever i have the time to!

I didn’t find snow on my way to the view points today, make sure to hit the trail early

Road was closed when i got there. I had to walk extra 2 miles to the trail head, and it was covered with a lot of snow. Will come back when it has better condition.

Beautiful hike over the damn and you can hike up along the falls coming down. Was beautiful back on 1/7/2018

It’s been snowing all week and the full hike (from beginning of Denny Creek rd) was just beautiful. The falls were half way frozen and it was great to experience. I went alone so it was nice to see a decent amount of people there.

Went on a Friday afternoon, not very crowded was a short hike to falls. Was a decent hike up the hill after the falls to the junction with the John Wayne trail. Will do more often as we cross the pass.

It was an amazing hike with no snow until the DNR portion of the trail past Upper Falls.

Gorgeous trail! We did this on a sunny day in March and it was perfect, plenty of traffic but not enough that it felt crowded

Not breathtaking, but it's a fun day. My five year old was tired at the end but had so much fun. We will definitely do it again.

Hiked to Lake 22 on Saturday and the parking lot was full and slightly icy. Had to park across the street in the entrance of the second lot, as that was completely covered in snow and a car got stuck trying to go in. The hike is really pretty easy, definitely icy and lots of snow. The lake is starting to thaw and there was a high avalanche warning, but it seemed safe to me. Super beautiful!

Got to the parking lot around 2:00 pm and found a spot right in the main lot. Weather was gorgeous and the hike was amazing. We hiked all the way to the upper falls. No snow anywhere and not a ton of people since we went later in the afternoon. Hiking beside the river part way was refreshing and all views of the falls were breathtaking! Definitely will be going back.

Beautiful sunny, warm day for a beautiful hike. Tons of people and dogs. The trip was still gorgeous though. Good season opener.

Hiked this trail a number of times, and it is one that is relatively easy at most points but has a few rough spots if you're not careful. Great view of the Gorge.

Hiked up the ledge and to east point yesterday, spikes would have been helpful however I did it without. You can get by without just a little slippery towards the end. Great views and met some cool people along the way.

Great day for family hike. Busy so we parked on the road outside parking lot. Not muddy and river views were exceptional. A little up and down to get to falls but well worth the effort. Great for kids of all ages!

Beautiful hike! We started at 12:30, and had to park a half mile away from the parking lot (that’s what we get for sleeping in). Unusually warm day for March, so there wasn’t any snow to be seen. Pretty packed trail and there were lots of families and dogs. Beautiful forested views, with sounds from the falls as the day’s ambient noise. Worth the view when you get to the upper falls, but the lower falls view was actually our favorite.

Roads were closed on both sides. Ended up hiking a total of 8 gorgeous miles today. The wagon trail is not open, don't take that as a loop back as one of the signs suggests... you'll end up walking through very deep snow. TAKE ICE CLEATS! The whole main trail is compacted snow and ice. One hiker slid down the hill at the falls today but was able to get back up. The trail right at the water fall is steep and icy, be extremely cautious. GORGEOUS hike though!!!

It was a gorgeous day to be up there. From Snowqualmie it’s about 10-11 miles round trip but it’s not too bad and the elevation gain is mostly gradual. Poles are extremely help and for the best view bring snowshoes because about a mile past the Grand viewpoint is a clear cut that you can explore, it has a view of Rainier as well.
