Beautiful trails along river and streams with falls at checkpoints. Diverse trail keeps it interesting. Hike gains difficulty with distance due to elevation so it feels more moderate than easy. My favorite close to home hike but a very busy destination.

Didn’t make it to the falls, yet enjoyed the 3 mile hike, great one to start after two years away. Beautiful colors super scenic. Dog friendly, easy access from Salmon le Sac campground.

Very well maintained trail with beautiful waterfalls.

Very steep. Slippery in places and the plant life is almost like a jungle as you get close to the lake. If you have bad knees, the descent while annihilate them. My favorite part was Cub Peak. While your legs are burning and shaking and you just want off the trail, it’s worth the extra bit to ascend to Cub Peak. Far better than the lake.

The hike was a great challenge and the views at the end were beautiful. Throughout the hike there aren’t a ton of views and it’s VERY challenging. I probably won’t do it again.

Beautiful hike. Absolutely gorgeous!

Pretty good hike! Has some nice river views and the elevation gain was enough to break a sweat. The loop goes up first if you go clockwise from the campground. Follow all our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists

Excellent trail! We were able to hike this after leaving Mount Baker on our way back to the Seattle airport. Rained all day in Bellingham Sunday so we needed one more hike before hearing back to hot, humid Atlanta !

Did this trail in the pouring rain but was still absolutely beautiful!!

My dog and I went up this trail: and it does go up. Lol

we went during the week in the evening so it wasnt very busy, only saw 2 other couples. there was so many amazing views along the way! the falls were absolutely breathtaking! we just went to the 2nd level since we ran out of daylight but definitely want to go back! id say moderate is fitting for this one:)

Great hike and wasn't too busy for a Sunday. Definitely watch out for horse poop on the trail.

Great hike, nice creek/waterfall and awesome views at the top!

Hiked on 9/10/18.

I'm sure it's typically busy, but I went on a Thursday morning and basically had the whole trail to myself. Multiple view points along the way and they're all beautiful. The trail is extremely well maintained. I'll definitely be coming back here again.

great trail for running, decent foraging. unfortunately came back to my window smashed in after hike. Contrary to signage, there are no cameras over looking the parking lot. Still a beautiful trail though, just be conscientious.

This was pretty hard. I run marathons for fun and this was a good workout. My wife who does not, felt like dying and is still sore 2 days later. The view was good at the lake, I am not sure it was worth the effort.

My tracker indicated about 3.5 miles to the top. Heavily trafficked - likely due to holiday weekend - but no bikers or horses to work around. Unfortunate that a good portion has been clear cut by loggers, but definitely worth the view at the top. Great to also see the change in flora and fauna as you ascend.

Hiked on 8/5/2018

This is a great place to break in your trekking poles. I walk a bit faster than most but I'll be the first to admit that the elevation gain on this hike is a workout for newbies.

You have three lookout points on your hike: Lower; Mid: and Upper falls. Bring some extra water if you don't carry a pack. Watch out for loose rocks on the trails.

This is a popular location so arrive early.

Hiked on Labor Day Weekend Sunday 2018/09/02. Enjoyed the hike. Pretty good work out. Descent Water Falls View. Trail path is neat and well marked. Has parking lot. Requires Discovery pass. It took 1 hour 40 minutes to Lower falls and come back. Missed going to Middle Falls and Upper Falls because of time constraints. I would definitely go there again.

Great view of at Middle Falls.
Busy place:(

Was a nice hike, my family and I discussed that most of it felt easy with the exception of the one hill. It was picturesque but nothing extraordinary. I wouldn’t call this a destination hike but if you are in the area it certainly won’t disappoint you!

Nice trail and lovely fall. Got stung by a bee for the first time. Also great trail to get to Wallace Lake.

This was absolutely a gem. The waterfall is just beyond beautiful, and there is a total of 3 stops on the hike. Lower, middle, and upper falls. Lower falls is an easy hike and probably the most beautiful part of it all. There is a tiny trail down to the pools of the lower falls, it is not recommended to go off trail. But I think it’s well worth it if you are safe. It is very slippery and people have passed there. Just be carful and only do it if your comfortable. Middle Falls is a medium hike, pretty steep but can be done and only 0.3 miles from lower. Highly recommend at least tracking to middle. We didn’t get the chance to hike to upper falls, as we had to get back to Seattle for a meeting.

I've hiked Wallace Falls four times now and on my last attempt I pushed on to the top. Wallace Falls can be tough since it is high elevation gain in such a short distance. I pushed on and explored Wallace Lake. You can go beyond that and hike up to Jay Lake and Shaw Lake as well. Wallace Falls is a great beginner hike. Once you discover your abilities you can move farther into the Cascades and hit peaks like Beckler Peak.

We hike this trail about once a week, very peaceful. Not too much elevation change and the trails are well maintained except for horse and dog poop about every 5 feet.

wow.. u can c the lava dome up close n personal

my brother and I (both teenagers) did this on a Sat. morning. Not too hard and nice views of the falls and forest, but very crowded. We also continued up past the falls to Wallace Lake and then back down the Greg Ball trail, which I would recommend if you want to do a longer hike since there was little elevation gain after the top of the falls and the whole trail system is very well-marked and has signs at each intersection. Started ~9, finished our big loop ~1:30 with some breaks.

Great hiking/running trail! Not much traffic, only ran into 3 people, so nice to be able to run. It was an hour roundtrip. A little rocky!

Nice walk.we also took a left side and it was still up to the hill, but the way is very good maintained.you go along the creek.we think that way from other side would be little bit easier. Hiker from Czech republic.

The trail is very well maintained, lots of benches and break spots if ya need it! Did this hike early on a Monday and almost had the trail to myself! It was lovely!

Loved it, get there early to get a spot and bring your Discover Pass. You can purchase a day pass in the parking lot for $10. Recommend walking sticks for the descent. Beautiful views of river and falls.
Air quality was good but a bit of a haze still lingered.
