Fun hike on Saturday. We parked in the first parking lots, although the road leading to the closer parking lot has been repaired since last time I was there, and I would drive it if I went back. Not too muddy. For four quick hikers and a dog, it took us 3 hours and we clocked almost 8 miles (we walked the gravel road to the trailhead, adding about 3 miles)

Nice trail but too crowded. The waterfall is worth it!

Easy trail/road that connects with alot of other trails on the mountain. it is a gradual up hill. I would call this more easy than moderate. Beautiful views of the mountain.

If you want to hop off your tour bus and see some easy waterfalls then you will enjoy. if you want to hike to the bottom of the falls and escape the tour buses then you will not enjoy. The hike to the bottom is just a viewing platform, you are not able to get very close to the water unfortunately.

Lots of parking and people.

great hike. Wife is a beginner but had great time. Lush wood made for cool hiking

The trail in many areas needs repair attention. The bright orange markings provide a good warning to bike riders. Beware of cinders and rough gravel at some road crossings. We will definitely ride this trail again.

Awesome!

Amazingly not much crowd at 5 pm today ... wonderful trail !!

Nice run... nice and peaceful trail. Some of the parts were narrow and I had to wait for bicyclist to go through, but that is really not anything to complain about. My biggest complaint was that I heard many small caliber gunshots at the very beginning of the trail. I no longer heard any closer to the falls, just at the beginning of the trail. Based off of the name, I was expecting a nice run to a beautiful waterfall… But that’s not the case. The “falls“ were so small that it is possible to even miss it. I heard some running water hiked down a baby trail and saw it. If you are looking for a nice waterfall, the nicest in the area is Tumwater Falls. If you are looking for a nice hike or trail run, this is the place.

Beautiful place

Went off hours, late afternoon on a weekday, and had the place almost to myself. Can get packed on weekends.

It was one of my favorite hikes

Short sweet hike with rewarding views at the top!

this trail is rated as moderate but it was pretty easy. it was nice and cool. The trail was surprisingly crowded, however you weren't nipping at one another's heels. It was BEAUTIFUL! At mile 2 the waterfall was amazing. Lots of dogs. Many off leash which was fine as my dog is well behaved.

One of our favorite hikes in the gorge. Well maintained, easy to moderate shaded ~3.5 Mile out and back with ~800’ vertical (according to my gps). Good for families and dogs. The falls are amazing with a great viewing area. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy!

The falls are beautiful.

But this used to be a place you could sit by the water at the end of the trail and have a picnic. now they have it all caged off.

This was lovely. The views were amazing. Fun to do with the kids. Would do it again!!

I hiked up toward the Margaret McKenny Campground and loop back around to the Mima Falls. Not much of a visual hike. The day before, there were horse events, so the trial was riddled with horse poo. It was hot and nasty that morning and the water fall was terrible. The only good thing about the hike was at the top you had a clear look at Mt. Rainier.

Trail in decent shape, dusty in mid-August. Trail is unrelentingly uphill, but beautiful at the top. Nice views of the river and Dog Mountain. The sacred nature of the space at the top was a nice surprise to me and made it more memorable than it might have otherwise been.

Trail is fine but can be steep.

It is an easy hike, which doesn’t take long with a beautiful waterfall you can sit in front of and enjoy. Most the trail is shaded, and it’s nice and cool by the waterfall!

Nice hike to a small waterfall. Also good for mountain biking.

Fine hike, but the falls were tiny and not a worthwhile endpoint. The “day use area” by the falls is little more than a picnic bench.

It was a very nice but there were no signs or warnings of the difficulty of hike. The way down was fine but the incline coming back up was horrible. If you’re not in shape or don’t have water with you I wouldn’t hike down. You can see the waterfall without doing the hike down.

Easy to navigate trail, extremely crowded on the weekends so if you’re not up to that then I suggest going on a weekday. The trail down to the water isn’t bad, but going back up may elevate your heart rate a bit! The water is beautiful and my boyfriend went swimming in there. Lots of people brought rafts or tubes.

Lovely waterfall, short hike
