Hi, can anyone give me more information about how i could be able to drive my jeep on off road trails. Because i heart that i have to take a test first, before goig there, is that true?

Easy trail. Road is pretty well maintained. Went half way up from Winthrop side. Good views and worth seeing the other side first if you need to turn back like us.

Good hike. Knocked it out in just under 3 hours carry 60 extra lbs. Flat for the first 2-ish miles but significant increase the last part. A little confusing toward Green Mt Vista. A lot of converging trails.

Had a great time! Didn't know there were so many things to do... will be heading back!

Great trail with easy routes. Took my leveled tundra crew max 4x4 thru with ease

Outstanding views.. fun easy off roading.. had a great time

Very difficult, misjudged the jump from moderate to hard on this app. Made it to the top but definitely not for the beginning hiker who thinks they are in shape. Would definitely go June-July when the snow is melted. Fell through the snow into the lake, pretty cold. But all in all breathtaking views of waterfalls and surrounding mountains. Will do again in July

Has a lot of side trails ranging in difficulty. The main trail is super easy and offers some great views.

The temperature was perfect and many flowers were in bloom. The walking is nice on the wide road/trails. We saw many birds and even a couple of horned lizards. The vistas are great. Bring lots of water and wear a hat(:

this hike was beautiful.
went on a monday and it was completely silent around us. its a great trail, does cross over atv trails but that is no biggie. the dogs loved this trail also.

The hike was decent through forests and clear cuts. Views were nice at the top and the falls we're great. Groups of ATV riders were considerate. The reason for the 3 star rating was due to the constant gunfire noise throughout the entire hike.

Great drive. A lot of snow made it interesting. There are a lot of side roads as well

wildcat trail starts at the wildcat trail head. This is a link of green mountain trail to a logging road that connects to the upper section of wildcat trail. but, still well worth it.

Went on a windy-rainy day, perfect hike with my pooch!

Nice hike with the dog! On a Sunday only saw 2 other people the whole time. A bit muddy in parts but not bad. Nice mix of scenery and terrain.

Had a blast wheeling my stock jku rubicon.

Not all that difficult. Understand the importance of throttle control and you shouldn’t have any issues. I typically go on the weekends and there is about 15+ rigs every time I go.. so if your in a bind somebody will usually help. Don’t let the people with 40’s and up in rubber scare you.. you don’t really need anything special to have fun in the snow. Just don’t bring your summer tires.. average speed as a group is between 5mph & 15mph although there are dickheads who think racing up/down the trail is fun when in some areas there’s only room for one vehicle

Great trails! Today when we went up it was pretty snowy and icy! I would make sure you have a 4by4 or all wheel drive or you won’t make it up! Great views once towards the top! Make sure your bring a map or GPS as there is no cell service and there is many trails you can get lost on!

Hiked late August. This is a trail clearly for ATVs and motorcycles. It's not fun to share a trail with motorized vehicles. It crosses several gravel roads as well. Not much to see, unless you like to see patches of logged terrain. Very dusty.

Great trail for most types of vehicles. Plenty of tougher trails along the route that lead to some beautiful quit locations.

If you are looking for a quiet trail then this is not for you! This is a popular off roading site with lots of gun fire mixed in. If you have a dog that is scared of fireworks then I strongly suggest you pick another trail. The site is sometimes closed to OHV due to fire conditions and you can check here before going.

http://www.oregon.gov/ODF/Recreation/pages/MotorizedTrails.aspx

I took the 11 miles hike starting at University fall and headed clock wise. The trails are fairly well indicated but do cross over the OHV trails at many points, in some cases a 6 way intersection. The were a series of bridges and hugged the creeks for portions of the hike that really made the hike special. Some of the fire buffer zones were logged which added some nice blooming groves to the hike. There was moderate elevations on the hike and had a nice over view of the mountains about half way through. There were several nice rest stops along the way with crudely made benches and nice rocked areas along the creek. I enjoyed the hike and under certain conditions can be a very nice hike. Thus the 4 stars

Please be aware there is no cell service so upload your maps before going. The start of the major trail heads has well indicated maps of the entire area.

Great place for built 4x4. There is staging area, bathrooms, Discovery Pass Required.
There are couple gates with rocks on the side which is used to check if your vehicle is good to go. If you make it around gates then you should be alright. Some Trails can get tough, but others are fine. I would suggest lift, rear lockers at the least, but have seen stock xj up there. Also be prepared to get scratchs and or dents, I would rate this medium to high for levels.
And like someone else said, dont know why it says hiking , its a orv park.
I wish i had pics still on phone but dont, love this place in fall or spring, wet and muddy.

This is actually not a hiking trail at all as the post suggests. Rather it is an OHV park. Yes you can hike it which I did since I ride dirtbikes and wanted to scout it out since I was already there, but if your hiking for the views and scenery, go somewhere else.

Got stranded here one night stuck in the snow! My favorite place to go... Great Views...been going here for a few years now, just stumbled upon it and has been my spot since.

Wildflowers were not blooming yet when I was there in early April but still enjoyed the views. Snow free but very windy. Wildlife tracks everywhere (elk, deer, coyote...) but I only saw a few elk in the distance. I started at the second gate (about 13.7 miles from Kittitas) and walked the dirt road down to the Rocky Coulee area at the bottom of the ravine and back (about 10.5 miles round trip) Stopped by the Wild Horse Wind and Solar facility on the way out and picked up a map at the visitor center which offers some info on the trails located there.

Liked it a lot. Lots of snow prevented us from going the whole way across to PA, but we explored all sorts of side roads. If you like your paint you may not like the side roads.
