BEAUTIFUL waterfall!

Great trail with lots of spectacular views. There are some leg busting sections but well worth it. Keep an eye out for mountain bikers.

Definitely worth the work for a short trip. Ice in quite a few spots still but easy to manage with just boots. Can't wait to try this one again after the snow and be able to get behind the falls.

Do not take dogs on this hike TICKS are EVERYWHERE. I found at least ten on my dogs and four on me. Otherwise the hike was really fun and quick. I would rate it a lot higher if it weren't for the ticks. WTA was clearing the trail when I went on it so poison oak was not an issue. Triple check yourself for ticks after this hike

Nice, but short and easy, walk along the Klickitat river...We spotted an huge River otter. Amazing creature, beautiful too watch. On a sunny day this trail be much more fun.

There were gorgeous views of the Gorge on this trail. Super windy when we were there. Beautiful wild flowers everywhere. Followed this with a walk up old scenic hiway trail which was also very scenic and easy.

Snow covered forest trail following the water and an amazing falls at the end. Beautiful!

Beautiful river of Klickitat, we had a great time hiking along you. Beautiful views and lots of green and flowers popping up. A Bald Eagle high in the sky, crows screaming for attention and only few people on this trail. Peacefull sunday...Could have been much worse today! Thank you.
Turn right just after the 1 mile sign...be careful.

It’s a nice 30 mins walk on a flat terrain with a great view of the river

Super pretty hike. The entire trail was covered in hard packed snow and some ice. Boots chains and poles for the win!

Went this weekend. It was amazing. 3/17/18 it was snowy still, slippery in some places. Be careful, but otherwise wonderful!

Short easy hike. Very crowded. Amazing waterfall. In order to enjoy this hike, snow spikes or hiking boots for icy and snowy surface is required. In my opinion, snowshoes are a little bit overkill.

Really a gorgeous hike. Snow was covering the trail so leave your nikes at home and hike with good traction shoes. Spectacular view at the end of this trail!

Did this one first day of March! Wildflowers are in early bloom. Spring is on its way! Trail is easy to follow. Great views! Would love to snowshoe in winter. Wouldn't recommend in summer for hot temperatures and rattles. Great for all ages! Would do again.

Absolutely gorgeous hike. Lots of great people and friendly pups along the way. Snow was covering the trail, good shoes with adequate traction or shoe spikes would be a wise choice. Not deep enough for snowshoes.

one of my favorite trails... just watch out for poison oak in the first climb, and then for rattlesnakes on the meadow areas in the rocks... Ive experienced both on this trail, but still a favorite! views are fantastic.

Great hike. Treacherous without traction. Snow melt bogs at some points, but can be walked around.

Ticks like you wouldn’t believe! Our dogs had ticks all over them!

Favorite waterfall in the Mt.Hood NF. Typically short easy trail

1/14/18-

First 1/4 mi of trail was clear with spots of thick very slick mud. 1/4 way in trail turns to solid black ice...spikes are needed!

Found pair of shoes at trailhead mens size 9. So if they are yours I have them!

Couldn’t complete because of the ice. Recommend spikes for your boots. Very dangerous with cliffs and ice. Will come back and try it with better traction.

Amazing hike I loved it. Some parts were treacherous because they were covered in ice and I did not have the right shoes on-- I had my converses. But I was determined to get to the falls and crawled my way through the hard parts. I suggest you bring some sort of traction for your feet you won't get far with out it!

I had two very painful falls coming back down, but did not have crampons. I went yesterday, definitely have the correct shoes with crampons!

Definitely grab your mini spikes for this one right now! The last mile and a half is practically an ice skating rink. It’s fun, but there are some precarious edges you wouldn’t want to slip and fall down.

Beautiful hike. The trail is not it marked very well. the group took the second entrance to the trail it was very steep and a little rocky. I took my dog off his leash because it was too difficult to hold him and climb up. we did cross a "bridge" that was just a board that was laid down across what looked like a flooded stream, it only supported one of us at a time, my dog didn't like it. Once we reached the top of the summit it was nice, not too windy and stunning views. we followed old ranch road trail back down which was easier then the first part of our hike. Lots of snow run off, so expect to get your feet wet! I would wait til late summer to do it again to make sure to miss ALL the snow run off.

Great winter hike (12/31/17). If you go on a day below freezing without recent snow cover, then crampons are your best friend. People without them were crawling and sliding as most of the trail is very icy.

This was an awesome hike (10/27/17). Mix of everything you could want in a short PNW trail. Waterfall was gorgeous; the rocks are very slippery and you need to climb a little, but you can get behind the falls too. A small landslide of rocks was in the middle, but you can easily get through it.

Absolutely beautiful!! Short and sweet. Easy river trail, with snow falling from the trees which made the view and experience spectacular. There were many snowshoers on the trail, but regular hiking boots worked just fine without spikes or crampons. Our dog loved this trail and there were many other friendly pups out! Naturally, it was icy closer to the falls so please approach with care.

One of the most breathtaking hikes I’ve ever done!! However it was very icy due in regular hiking boots with the recent snowfall last weekend (definitely wear crampons if you have them!) The waterfalls were crystal clear and beautiful. Totally worth the adrenaline rush while sliding around!! ☺️

Beautiful hike in the snow!! Lots of people with snowshoes but what you really need right now are some ice spikes!! My girlfriend and I did it in hiking boots but there were some sketchy parts and a fair amount of sliding. All worth it though, amazing fall at the end of it! We’ll do it again in the summer and get behind the fall and swim!

Not much snow or ice yet. I was fine with normal boots.
