Hiking

Outside of having to do some route finding the established trails are difficult to follow due to people creating their own trails around lakes/side trips to other lakes. Signage on FS trails are really poor. Lakes were alright, views were nice. Nothing super exciting but it was a good time.

Beautiful views. Did the loop clockwise and find that was less crowded. The trail disappears and becomes very difficult to follow a few miles in, but it was fun to explore and create you’re own path. Recommend this trail to those who don’t want to exert a ton of energy I would like to get out for most of the day.

The trail was longer than what it said it was supposed to. I don't know how the distance was calculated and being a longer distance, it took me longer than anticipated to finish the loop and not to mention I was drenched with rain. On the other hand, the weather report was strangely accurate. Note to self: trust the weather report next time. Overall, it was a good hike, best scenery I've seen in a hike so far.

This might be my fav hike! We did it clockwise. So many pretty lakes! Interesting rock formations! Not much vertical climbing! More places to have a picnic at than we had food! Pray for rain, as the forest is woefully dry. The pretty little brooks were all dried up :(

Beautiful hike! We made it to Hidden Lake and tried to find our way back along the path, but ended up scrambling over rocks. We had downloaded the maps, but it still was tricky. After John Lake, we just went straight down (over lots of rocks) and joined the Clyde Lake trail for the rest of the loop. We lost count, but there are more than 20 lakes.

Beautiful weather, crowds are starting to lessen. A good day for a hike! Taking the trail clockwise is the easier direction as the worst of the switchbacks are on the south side of the loop after twin lakes. The north side has a few switchbacks, and a couple short steep sections. The area is very dry, most of the streams have dried up. Fire restrictions are in place so do your part if camping and no fires! This is clearly marked at the trailhead sign.

We decided to do the loop backwards and climb the steep part first. It was great coming down more gradually.

Great trail. Temps were great, highs about 70-75, in the middle of the day. Moderate traffic. After Wall Lake, we didn't see as many people till after we passed Clyde Lake. Beautiful Views. Several great camping spots around Wall Lake and the lakes from Twin Lakes and on.

WalkingOff trail

Great trail with moderate elevation changes. Super doable. I did it in one day with a daypack but the majority of the people I saw there were camping. The lakes make the hike incredibly gorgeous and picturesque. The only thing is that the trail completely disappears after Clyde lake, you can still walk in that area and I did but it was confusing. I recommend skipping that portion and instead walking on a pathway around Clyde Lake that will take you to the next part of the loop.

The trail is in great condition, and very few insects to distract from the expansive views. Easy to navigate with beautiful lakes speckling the trail for miles and miles.

Beautiful area. We added lake ibantik and accidentally cut off the northwest corner of the hike above clyde lake, but it still turned out to be 12 miles so we weren’t too bummed. So many awesome lakes and great views. Great hike for dogs, especially if they like to swim. Not super strenuous, but still challenging enough. Good times!

Loved this trail. Coming from a flatlander it was not too difficult to climb the uphills. There are so many pretty views, lots of lakes for the dogs to cool off in, plenty of shaded areas for resting. We did have to use the gps once or twice because we somehow got off the main trail, but definitely worth it to make it to this trail. Trailhead is pretty crowded but thats because its right next to a busy lake. The trail itself was not crowded at all.

Beautiful, relatively easy trail. A bit of climbing/descending but very doable. Went on a Wed. Parking lot was full but not many people on the trail. (More towards the Wall Lake section). Still plenty of flowers. Did a little fishing here and there. Such a great way to spend the day!

It was an extremely beautiful hike with lots of lakes and there were a number of places that had incredible views of the valleys. There were a few steeper sections but overall a fairly moderate hike.

One of my favorite Utah hikes. Completed 7/25/20. We left early (7am) and were the only people hiking until 10am or so when campers by the lakes started getting moving. The lakes were beautifully still in the morning. We cut through in between the second and third divide lakes. We saw two Mountains goats beyond the Notch approaching Ibantik Lake. We also put our binoculars up and saw a goat on a ledge way up on Notch Mountain! And the wildflowers were in peak bloom - saw somewhere around 20 different species. Great views (whether of lakes or cliffs or mountains in the distance) most of the loop.

Spectacular Hike!! Did this one clockwise to end at Wall Lake to jump off the rocks into the water. Not very difficult, mostly flat. Pass by several lakes with a great view of the area around every corner. One of our favorite hikes ever. Packed some sandwiches and had a nice picnic around Clyde Lake. Great wildflowers and a well maintained trail. Parking at trailhead was fine on Monday about 11:30. There is a paystation and bathroom at the trailhead. Not many people on the trail at all.

Backpacking

I brought my 17-yr old daughter with me for an overnighter. It was her first time backpacking and this was a great trail for beginners. The trail wasn't really steep at all and it was clearly marked throughout. Went the clockwise route and am glad we did. Some of the spots going counter leading up to notch trailhead would have been much more difficult for her. Bugs weren't horrible and the fish were small, but all in all a great trip for both of us!
