Easy with kids! Wish we had packed a picnic!

Can’t give it 5 stars because of all the people and horse poo on the trail. Would not recommend the short cut after gunnison pass as rock slides are very easy to trigger. Good water source in valley right before the final climb to Kings. Shoulda got 2 liters there but only got 1.

The whole hike was excellent! the first few miles started easy then it gradually increase as you work your way up to the top. Going down from the top is a little scary so I suggest you take you steps carefully. It took me almost 4 hours from top to bottom (lower trail)

Beautiful place! Pack warm clothes. Can’t wait to return again!

Summited August 18th with my mom for her 50th birthday and four of my aunties! Fantastic hike, it was my second time summitting. Views were incredible both on the ascent and at the top. Bring at least 4 liters of water and research what to pack!

Enjoyed a beautiful day to take this trail. Have come here before back when the stream was pretty dry last summer 2017. Really enjoyed coming back, listening to the water run, and enjoying that waterfall was amazing!!

Great trail to the waterfall. Show up early and it's not bad.

Much more enjoyable than the zoo at Snoqualmie Falls.

Amazing views and a moderate hike. Would give 5 stars but the amount of people brings down the appeal a little bit. At 3pm on a Tuesday there were around 25 people at the top.

Wow! Those views! This trail took me 5.5 hours. It was hard but totally doable. I just took my time. Lots of shade. I highly recommend!

Been there on 2018/06/16 Saturday. Best hiking place. It is a package with nice lake at the base and very good views from the top. Very big parking lot. And nice picnic area at the lake. Good place for Kayaking in lake. Relatively near by and easily accessible from Issaquah and I-90.

Our favorite peak thus far in the 6 pack challenge. Not as difficult as we thought it would be - up and back 7 hours - including 2 hours at the top. The peak area was amazing -- so many beautiful, peaceful spots to explore. Shout out to our new friend - please join us for more hikes!

Good short hike. Good elevation to get your body working. Very heavily trafficked. We reached at 8:45 am and parking was starting to get full, and while coming back there were even more people going up.
The view from the top is spectacular, only problem being the high number of people. Overall a good hike.

Hard, but worth it in the end!

Very hard hike but so worth it! Boulder section was THE most challenging for me. Never ending. The climb to the top was hard but since I knew I was right there it was ok. Beautiful day!!!

Pretty hike! Way too many people...

Decided to do this with my brother in one day after doing a little research. We started from the trailhead at 3:45 AM and made quick work to dollar lake. We saw three different moose on our way up. We took the shortcut at Gunsight pass and bouldered up the mountain. The summit was hard as there is no defined trail through the boulders, but just keep making your way up and try and stay close to the ridge line. The one thing I would change would be not to take the chute down to try and save some mileage. The loose rocks sliding down the steep incline kept hitting my ankles and multiple times I had to sit down to try and stop myself. Finished the hike at 5:30 and was physically fine, but mentally drained from the long day.

Clear path up to dollar lake, but climbing up to peak isn’t so well marked but still not bad. Was still an amazing hike!

Took 5 Kids did great !! Recommended foot ware and pack snacks and plenty of hydration!! Pool is super cold takes your breath away but worth it !! A bit of steep rocky area to get down to main pool must be in decent shape and have stability with balance !!

Beautiful hike. Gradual elevation the whole way through. It really is 7.4 miles to the lakes for almost exactly 15 mile hike round trip. Totally worth it.

Epic High Sierra views on a moderate hike.

I can't imagine a more beautiful hike. Not so much of a workout at the pace we went, stopping so many times for photos and to enjoy the views, but worth every second. If you are at all considering this, do it. You'll be so glad you did. (But start out early, especially on the weekend--it will get crowded.)

Scenic views of waterfalls are plentiful on this hike. It didn't feel hard but one does need to be prepared for the distance. It was heavily trafficked on a midday Saturday – so don't expect a solitary experience – but that is to be expected. North Falls are worth the extra distance.

This review is important.
We planned to camp at dollar lake and made it easily up there in about 4 hours, the next day we summited and got altitude sickness but made it in about 11 hours to get back to camp.
What we should’ve done, hike near a lake after gunsite pass and had a shorter summit the next because that is the hardest part of the hike because about 90% of that day is bouldering. Good luck on this very difficult hike

Gorgeous views, nice trail, fairly gentle elevation gain overall, challenging though not crushing. Not on a level with Sierra passes, but great training for it, especially if you bring your pack. Get to the parking lot early, it was full by sunrise (slightly after 6:00am), though it was Saturday. Happy hiking!

No water at the waterfall but still a good hike! Very rocky, not meant to climb alone. Bring water! There’s no service on the trail.

Excellent trail for a first time backpacker with amazing views and a peaceful lake to top it all off. I highly recommend this hike, it's easy to get to the trailhead and the trail is well maintained throughout.

I just sigh er is the season of a good sqfor

One of the best hikes in Utah, or anywhere that I have ever been.

Completed the Cottonwood Loop yesterday (8-17-18). The Old Army Pass was a bit scary. Coming down New Army Pass was in much better condition. Breathtaking scenery! The weather was good. Did have some rain, which made the trip even more enjoyable. This trail is a must and will definitely expand our trip in to the Sequoia National Forest on our next trip!

It was challenging on the way up, especially with all my camera gear but the views are well worth it.
