Amazing view from the top but if you are afraid of heights then this trail may not be right for you. The last half mile you will need to hang on the steel chains and carefully watch your steps, the path is very narrow and steep, but once you got to the top, the breathtaking views are well worthy!!

It’s been snowing all week and the full hike (from beginning of Denny Creek rd) was just beautiful. The falls were half way frozen and it was great to experience. I went alone so it was nice to see a decent amount of people there.

Hiked it this morning 3/15/2018 maybe 10-15 people total until the hike back down. Started at 6 from the museum up to the top and back down to the museum by 11. This hike is not for those afraid of heights and is very fulfilling. I had major knee surgery last June and was able to do this hike with little to no pain even with all the hills, switchback and climbing involved.

Very crowded. Good mountain views and nice lake.

conquered it on 10/21/17.. Epic hike.. amazing.. words can't describe how beautiful it is up there.

Beautiful hike, think the distance was about 8.5 miles, but certainly didn't feel like that when there's beautiful waterfalls to see so frequently. Some parts of the trail were pretty muddy, so my waterproof hiking boots were appreciated (leave the runners at home)

It was an amazing hike with no snow until the DNR portion of the trail past Upper Falls.

Not breathtaking, but it's a fun day. My five year old was tired at the end but had so much fun. We will definitely do it again.

Nice easy trail (little muddy in spots). Appreciated the suspension bridge and the waterfall.

Fantastic trail. Hiked it with my kids. Super crowded because of Spring Break but still worth it.

Did this hike on March 10 - super clear day and great hike. The hike is ~50% packed snow, so I’d recommend micro spikes but definitely doable without. Great view on a clear day.

Excellent hike couldn't ask for more beautiful weather! Not for the faint of heart!

Super easy and quick trail w amazing views

My brother and I were excited to checkout the trees on the trail but M-90 was closed a couple of miles before the trail. I've looked on the National Forest website and didn't see any reason as to why it was closed but figured I'd post here so others don't miss out.

Absolutely loved it. One hell of a hike it is. People scared of heights should stay away from this!!!

Amazing nature walk. Cross a river, walk through a meadow, carve some gnarly paths and end up on a wide open beach! It's cold but worth it.

Got to the parking lot around 2:00 pm and found a spot right in the main lot. Weather was gorgeous and the hike was amazing. We hiked all the way to the upper falls. No snow anywhere and not a ton of people since we went later in the afternoon. Hiking beside the river part way was refreshing and all views of the falls were breathtaking! Definitely will be going back.

Love this place! So beautiful.

Beautiful day up there! A little muddy in places but not bad at all.

I love this hike. Me and my bf went on Friday. It was packed but all in all a nice hike. A LOT of switchbacks and all uphill

Beautiful hike! We started at 12:30, and had to park a half mile away from the parking lot (that’s what we get for sleeping in). Unusually warm day for March, so there wasn’t any snow to be seen. Pretty packed trail and there were lots of families and dogs. Beautiful forested views, with sounds from the falls as the day’s ambient noise. Worth the view when you get to the upper falls, but the lower falls view was actually our favorite.

Holy cow! What a beautiful hike. The suspension bridge was amazing! Falls were absolutely stunning!

Roads were closed on both sides. Ended up hiking a total of 8 gorgeous miles today. The wagon trail is not open, don't take that as a loop back as one of the signs suggests... you'll end up walking through very deep snow. TAKE ICE CLEATS! The whole main trail is compacted snow and ice. One hiker slid down the hill at the falls today but was able to get back up. The trail right at the water fall is steep and icy, be extremely cautious. GORGEOUS hike though!!!

I listened to the reviews and bought some micro spikes for my first time... I encourage everyone to do the same - you won't regret it!!

One of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen.

Amazing Sunday to hike, arrived at 945am and there were already 7 rows of cars parked. When they say this one is popular, they totally mean it. When I left around 330pm I saw there were cars parked even outside on the road. The first half of the trail is normal train but it’s a climb, you start going up right away. The second half I would highly recommend micro spikes. Those without looked nervous and had to go at beyond a snails pace and it didn’t look like they were having fun. The view at the top was totally worth the climb. 100% worth it. I didn’t tackle haystack but there was a ton of snow at the top and I was hiking solo. Will try again in the summer when the snow is clear but I head out way earlier in the morning.

Long drive from the Seattle area. Went in early March. The trail is 1/2-1 mile long downhill. When you get to the bottom there’s many different trails you can explore leading to different views of the caves and ocean. Trail was slightly muddy so boots would be advised unless you don’t care about getting your shoes dirty.

Did the trail with 4 adults & 5 young kids. So fun. About an hour to there and and hour back. Beautiful perfect family outing. $5 day use parking fee. Don’t be fooled by long country road, this is a heavily used trail. Might want to come early so you can find parking.

While many are saying the final views are spectacular, the experience is what made this a 5-star hike for me. It is both mentally and physically tough, so completing it was incredibly fulfilling. This hike is so unique. There’s nothing else like the journey to the summit.

The one drawback of this hike is how crowded it gets. There are points where I felt a little unsafe, waiting by a drop off along a very narrow path for others to pass. There are many places where only one-way traffic can pass, although there’s traffic in both ways. This hike is not for those with a fear of heights.

We did this hike in early February - the falls are amazing! Great viewpoints of the falls and nice walk through the forest
