This was a nice hike with the exception of the downed trees. Be careful climbing over and around. Its refreshing to be able to dip in the creek after the hike in the humidity!

Very easy hike but one of the families favorites. My 3 yr old and 6 yr old have no trouble with this hike and love climbing the rocks and playing in the water. The swimming hole at the upper falls is a great place to cool off.

Fun hike up and down to the last waterfall (don't stop halfway). Beautiful fall and swimming hole. Great place to cool off and take photos. Brief climb down from viewing platform to get in the water.

Moderate is definitely what I’d use to describe the hike. The views of the falls are definitely something to come for! Unfortunately, as some other reviewers mentioned, there is a bit of a littering problem at the base of the falls. Besides that, it was great exercise with some beautiful scenery! I’ll definitely be back and bring some less experienced friends with me so they can get into it and enjoy hiking like I do :)

This place isn't anything special. Its always crowded too.

Great if you just wanna cut right to it and see a gorgeous waterfall and enjoy a swim!

Helton Creek Falls has been a favorite of ours for over twenty years! We love the easy hike to a delightful and scenic swimming hole for an easy trip. We've taken kids and adults there, and it's always a hit.

Keep in mind there are no facilities of any sort. If you're swimming, be prepared to change in your car or put down a towel so you don't get your seats wet, unless you are confident you can find a secluded spot to change in the woods!

Great little park...took our 3 kids 2, 5, and 7 there and they easily did the loop.

Took the trail up and the stairs down. The trail was steeper than we expected even though its pretty short. I'd recommend doing the loop the opposite way we did. Love the falls! Was very crowded as expected on a Saturday. There are multiple elevations to park at so its very accessible even if you're not a hiker.

definitely the most beautiful I've ever seen, the stairs are a definite workout!!

While to waterfall was beautiful it was not a walk in the park. You have to climb down an unofficial trail to get to see the waterfall at all. Also it’s a loop style trail but everything past the rappelling wall was so overgrown it wasn’t possible to walk.

Very easy and scenic hike, great for all ages. Shaded trail makes for cool temps even in the late June weather. Free parking if you park near the Roswell Mills bridge, easy trail access, puts you at VC12. If you have younger children VC14 is a great area for the kiddies to play in the water, and VC16-17 is where the falls are and the best picture spots. When I went down to the base of the falls there was unfortunately a lot of trash, and even along that area of the trail it was littered with garbage.

I went early on a Thursday morning and did not encounter a single other hiker. Weekends are WAY busier, so I advise going as early as possible.

I love this place !

Great easy trail. A little hiking on the wildlife trail. I came across two Doe a deer, a female deer ... you know the rest

Nice little hike, get there early for some peace and quiet. However I started from the Chattahoochee NRA ($5 parking) and hiked to the Falls only to realize there was free parking right there at the Falls and tons of families taking pictures, picnicking, etc. Not really what I was picturing. This is more for exercise than hiking.

One of my in-town favorites. Parked in the lot off of Riverside and zigzagged through the trails on the south half of the park, which turned into 4.66 miles. Plan to do the same with the north half soon. Beautiful, peaceful, lots to see.

This trail was very nice, very rooty and rocky. Nice views

Beautiful! One of my favorite places in metro Atlanta.

The falls are great the hike was very challenging but we loved it!

Amazing and great!

The falls are VC-16 if it keeps the photo opers away from the rest of this beautiful trail.

The area around the falls is coincidentally the only area covered in garbage and blunt wrappers. Go figure

Also if you don’t want to pay the 5 bucks park up the road at the community pool and walk up

After walking the many steps downward. Taking in all the beauty of the falls. Got down to the bottom, went into the visitor center to inquire about the way up.
Options: stairs or trail.
Trail chosen. Many times the trail only included BIG rocks. Stopped to lean on trees.
Back to the lodge after about 2 hrs.
Felt great. Then I met a fella that had just completed the Appalachian trail. You see this is the end of the trail. He had been walking for 6 months.
I had a short lived victory. Oh well, so much for my 2 hours.
All in all, it was great!

love it

Nice walk and pretty Falls!

The stairs are strenuous, but in my opinion, it’s worth it. I loved getting to the top and seeing the waterfall from there. There were also a couple of other trails that you could hike... it’s easy to make a full day there!

A good run as long as you stay on the main trail; if you head toward the river too much, the trail gets rough and you find yourself going up and down muddy banks and crossing water on logs. The trail is well marked and, on the way back, I saw where I made the wrong turn. All in all a fun run, and I’ll do it again.

loved it!! beautiful scenery and a great workout

This might not be the trail for you if you’re looking for solitude. If you have a dog “do not take the steps up! It will be very painful on their paws! I’m referring to the metal grates in each stair-Please take the trails- there are two/ a western and an eastern loop. Not very difficult on trail.
