The trail was closed due to a pinebeetle infestation, so I was not able to complete it.

Very nice hike. You stay along the lake most of the hike.

Beautiful views. Good trail. Pretty streams

Great trail. Both waterfalls on the entry trail are worth seeing. (Lots of steps to get down to the waterfalls) After coming back up the steps, you have to cross the canyon and walk along the far side of the canyon before the loop trail begins. The best pictures/views are from the far side. The loop trail is around 2 miles and is relatively flat. The path goes through the woods and runs along the other side of the mountain.

moderate (loop). waterfall section was busy but rest of the well marked trail we had all to our selves. The old growth pines are amazing.

Awesome trail. Definitely do it clockwise. It’s great to end it with the falls and walks over the streams. Easy to moderate rating. 2 out of shape adults and an energetic dog and 8 year old did it in about 4 to 4.5 hours.

Great trail by the water for a bit.

It had rained a lot the week before so I thought that it would be a good idea to go somewhere with lots of granite so I'd not be walking in as much mud...which was absurd when you think about the fact that granite isn't permeable so there were a whole lot of giant puddles and muddy spots. Still, it was a really nice afternoon out. I went here and did these trails and then walked over to the mountain view trail. I could take or leave the mountain view trail, but these two trails were really nice. The Forest Trail had a lot of precariously balanced dead trees that were fun to look at and there were areas where it skirted bald-granite areas and old quarry sites that looked like I was skirting some disaster area.

There's a short (about .1 miles) detour on the Forest Trail to the grave of someone named Mary Wade that had some really cool granite outcroppings, though the grave itself is nearly in someone's backyard and, it being winter, the foliage was thinned out enough that it felt a little awkward going to it. And the grave itself wasn't that interesting.

The Mile Rock Trail is really cool: it's not much unlike going up Arabia Mountain or Stone Mountain except that it's flat, there are a ton of frogs, and a lot of ruins. It reminded me of a set from the original Doctor Who series. I generally favor more challenging trails and was surprised at how much I enjoyed these two. I'll definitely go back when I want to stay close to the city or don't have the energy for something more strenuous.

Busy trails, but well worth it.

Very nice views and easy to follow trails. We visited after Thanksgiving and it was very busy.

West Rim trail is a great overlook trail . We started at the parking lot closer to the cabins in Cloudland Canyon National park. This route took us directly to the views. There are many outcroppings with great views. They do have railings. Great trail for all ages. Once you cross the bridge at checkpoint 3 there is a clearly marked trail map telling you where you can go from there. You can head to Hemlock and Cherokee Falls from there. (Highly recommended.) this route will also leads to SITTON GULCH TRAIL. Which I highly recommend. See my review.

There are cabins all along this route that have easy access to the most scenic part of the trail (closest to Canyon). Trail even has cabin numbers marked for easy navigation.

Great trail for the family

Great hike, deeper canyon than I expected. You go a mile before you start the actual loop. If you choose to go left to start the loop it’s a little boring at first but the views pick up quickly. We were on the trail by 8:30 and by the time we were coming back in there were several starting so it’s a popular trail. Highly recommend an early start.

Beautiful hike along a lake with many hills.

Easy and fun. The area is cool and it’s fun to explore. We came out late Sunday afternoon with our beagle and it was a perfect way to end the week. Not much required besides decent shoes and some water. Will definitely do again.

I agree with those who said this the easy rating on this full loop is not accurate. Fair warning, I met a few beginners on the trail who said "It seems more like an obstacle course" compared to other easy trails they had been on.

The trail has beautiful scenery throughout the loop, with fantastic mountain views on the west and most of the falls on the east. There are a few spots near falls and on flat rocks to stop and rest, and lots of moving water for pups to cool off in. There are also some areas with slick rocks, rock steps, and water (or mud) over the trails if the weather has been right for it. Highly recommend!

I have the loop in my recordings on my profile, but I both logged it under the wrong trail and accidentally paused it for part of the trail.

Hiked 11/4/17: Went with a group of girls from work and took the pup. It was a great hike! Beautiful color change on the leaves and lots of overlooks into the canyon. All in all, a great hike! Plus, it was really neat watching the fog roll out by mid-morning.
Recommend driving an extra 30 minutes to Chattanooga for Taco Mamacita post hike (vegan & vegetarian friendly, if that's your thing).

One of my favorites

Beautiful waterfalls! Great hiking

Blazes on yellow are a tad sparse, but overall an easy trail and a great dog walk.

We did this in April of 2016. It was a good length trail that followed the rim trail. Great views of the floor below, true sense of the elevation. The trail was well maintained and clearly marked. Definitely worth it if you’re in the area.

I would not rate this trail as easy. It has some beautiful waterfalls and with Cascade Waterfall as one for a great place to have a snack or picnic.

This trail was closed due to foot bridge needing repair and a Southern Pine Beetle outbreak.

Great views of canyon on rim trail. No sure about it being on any top 10 list but it was nice. Trail is heavily trafficked and show signs of wear and tear in a few locations. Nice area altogether though. .

Completed this hike yesterday before I downloaded this app as a suggestion from a hiker I met along the trail. Not an overly difficult hike however not sure I would rate it as easy for everyone. It took me 2.5 hours to complete at a fairly moderate pace. The plan is to complete a couple sections of this trail leading up the complete trail later this month. I would imagine the Pine Trail can be completed in a day but maybe a little enjoyable to spend a night out.

Not a difficult hike at all, pretty cool views.
