Beautiful hike!

Perfect place to run. First experience ran the loop, it's a little under 7 miles. Switched the shoes and went horse trail running and found a cool fox hole near the top of round mountain (see photos). The horse trails were well cut, a few overgrown weeds but nothing unmanageable. I didn't use any bug spray no ticks or chiggers. only downfall is that horse trail was unclear going up round mountain but overall a great experience.

Nice trail. Trees and lake view. The damn is neat. Got lost past the damn. Very pretty.

Nice trail. Took us about an hour and a half to do the loop. End of September and all the Creeks were dried up. East end of the lake and dam area were the nicest stretch.

Nice hike, little challenging in spots with tree roots, hills and crossing some small steams. Lost the trail for a little bit in the river bed past the damn. Very awesome view from old damn. Saw a snake near the water that spooked some of my fellow hikers, many spider webs across the trail as I was the 1st hiker of the day. Got one of my feet soaked crossing a stream. Overall enjoyed the hike.

The trail to the top of the ridge goes off to the right just before the first sign. We somehow missed it so we did the lower portion of the trail first, essentially backward. The upper portion definitely has a few spots where you really have to watch your step, so be careful. But we went just a day after heavy rains, with dogs, and it was fine.

Ended up finding a nice trail at leatherwood lake that went all the way around the lake and across the dam. The only problem is it isn't called leatherwood trail, it is called Beachum trail. Never saw a sign for leatherwood trail until we were done and it went away from the lake. it rained alot the night before so the trail was like a creek much of the time. Also had to cross a couple creeks on the trail. There was a waterfall off the dam that was very pretty. I would rate the tail a 5 but it wasnt the trail listed and described.

Very pretty area. Large variety of wild flowers.

Have been many times. After the first steep part, the top is pretty level. You meet some nice folks but not usually a place to go for solitude. I have never been asked for my hunting/fishing license but looks like others have had to pay fines. For seniors, you can get a lifetime hunting/fishing license for a one-time fee; a lot cheaper than paying a fine.

This trail is so beautiful! On the west side of the lake anyways. In hindsight and if I ever go again, I will hike up the west side of the trail to the bridge then turn around and come back. The west side has all the beautiful views of the lake, and the bridge is worth walking across for great panorama pictures. The east side however, was a much more difficult hike (which doesn’t deter me but it may for some) without much to look at. You can’t see the lake most of the time on the east side. I went in early September in the afternoon, and for whatever reason the bugs were heavier on this side of the lake. It felt like I spent the whole back half of the hike trying to fight the horse flies. West side of lake: 5 stars. Easy side: 1.5 stars

Great views at the dam, good trail

Nice trail with some good ups and downs, but not well marked, especially at the top. I expected more views of the river, but there were only a couple. We both got bad chigger bites in spite of using bug spray. You definitely need a hunting/fishing/conservation pass. We got approached by a ranger.

Peaceful trail. Wear appropriate shoes as the trail is mainly loose rocks with intersecting root systems.

This is my favorite trail in the area. It is well maintained and highly trafficked. There is a hidden waterfall if you explore the outer trails. When walking it takes about two hours and I wouldn’t plan on resting. If you are there after dusk, don’t park in the fenced in area, it gets locked. There are food trucks near and bikes/skates work well on this trail too. You can also rent a paddle boat for going out onto the water.

Good incline and a good way to get your heart rate up while hiking. The overall trail was a bit overgrown and someone built a house at the end. I was hoping there was an overlook but the trees were to thick. Probably hiking in winter/late fall would be the prettiest. Pretty trail, though.

Had a wonderful visit to Pea Ridge. Was warned by the staff that the hiking trails were very active with ticks and chiggers, so I opted to mostly stay on the paved trail. Anxious to go back later in the year and try the hiking trail. Lots of information on the battlefield and in the Visitors Center.

From Indiana, always enjoy walking new trails. this is a beautiful trail taking into consideration where it's located. A nice mix of wooded trail, open preservation areas. and then throw in the lake all in 5+ miles. Great job Springdale.

Great trail, beautiful views. we saw several deer and lots of squirrels. Took us about 3 hrs to do the full 5 miles.

Trail was ok, but nothing too interesting. that being said, it was a lot better than just staying home and watching TV.

Beautiful trail!

beautiful hike especially during mid spring. If you plan to complete the entire trail dont forget water and possibly energy bars or snacks. Its a great hike and a great accomplishment

pretty sweet, cool mixture of scenery, definitely needs more blazing but its usually got it when you need it and doesn't have any when you don't.
recent rain has put lots of debris on the trail, cows have torn up a good bit of trail and made it stinky
my GPS came out at 4.1miles not 4.9

but overall ill probably be doing it again

Just biked this trail for the 1st time and loved it!We’re beginners(3rd ride), so was probably more challenging for us and our 11 yr. old than most people. I see us going back weekly and riding this trail, because we enjoyed it so much.

A little steep in a couple of places, but very pretty. my phone said 4.9 miles, not 3.9. At the very end I ran into a gigantic bunch of seed ticks though.

beautiful overlook of the Kings River. easy to set up camp near the rim

We only had an hour to hike so we couldn’t do the whole trail but what we saw was beautiful.

Really love this little loop. Pretty easy path through lots of woods. A few exposed stretches. Only real complaint is that it's so close to the road in some places.

Did this trail in July of 2017. Loved it!!! Bring snacks, extra water and watch for rattlesnakes in the rocky area.

Beautiful view but the trail was not well marked.

Beautiful trail and our dogs were worn out afterwards.
