So much to explore!

Easy trail with asphalt surface. Red trail indicated is only 2.5 miles

Excellent trail that has few people as South Manitou is proffered by boat tourists. We did a mix of kayaking the perimeter of the island and hiking the trail in the afternoons and evening. Nice rustic tenting options too.

Walked it many times. Some ups but great.

Great hike out to the sea caves. About 1.8 miles out with 0.7 miles on easy to traverse wood planks.

Beautiful sight! Love the South Shore and looking forward to doing it again.

loved this place! east bluff trail was great and the Devils Doorway was awesome!

Excellent moderate hike. There are a lot of small hills which is why this is considered a “moderate.” In some cases it’s almost easier to just walk alongside some of the stairs that have been built. There were a lot of families on this hike who seemed to be managing just fine. The views at the end at spectacular. Keep a close eye on younger hikers at the end of the trail.

Easy couple hour hike. Amazing views of the shorelines and caves. Fun trail and lots of places to set up a hammock to relax along the way.

Beautiful views. Easy trails

Great views that take into downtown Green Bay.

Great hike, awesome views!

Spent about 3 hours on the more/most difficult trails. Definitely challenging in some areas and a little confusing at times, but plenty of maps and markers. so peaceful and didn’t see another person the whole time! Saw a few deer. Well maintained trails.

If your kayak trip gets canceled or postponed, this a good hike even in the rain!

This is probably one of my favorites. Family is from central Illinois found this trail on this website and tried it out! Great trails, beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Well mark trails. The parking lot is easy to access and close to the trail. I highly recommend this trail. Kinda muddy in some spots but it has just rained. Also when it did start down pour raining there was so many trees to that sheltered us from the down pour!

Side note: If you have kids that want to swim in the lake there is a part of the trail that takes you there! Take towels :)

Great trail close to home

My puppy and I have been up and down most of the trail. Has some hill incline areas, but always a good cardio workout!

This trip was as good as it gets. Trail was well maintained, getting water is very easy being that your on a island. Did this loop ten days ago and didnt pull out the bug spray once. Gorgeous views every night at camp, the best part is once you are off the boat and on the trail you dont run into anyone. I would highly recommend backpacking the NMI loop.

Gorgeous views from the bottom of the falls but difficult to understand where the trail is supposed to be. Lots of places to explore though!!

If you are looking to spend time in the sleeping bear dunes area with some degree of seclusion, this is the place for you! Four days was just enough time to hike the trail and enjoy all there is to offer from the island. The other reviews stand true and cover most of the bases. I highly recommend NMI!

I loved the path this trail took around the lake. The viewpoints were beautiful. The cool air was refreshing. The trail was beautiful.
Unfortunately, the path is being paved over so it can be hard on the knees and ankles. Also, the trail does not allow overnight campers so allow time and energy to do it in one day. Also there were $41 in camp and park entrance fees. In addition to all that, the trail and campsite were crowded with loud families. I expected this loop to feel more like a backpacking trip and less like a family vacation tourist trap.

I suppose I should have researched more.

Great hike-go past the bowls to see the rest of the coastline-out and back 5 miles!

Cool, bring your walking stick for your old knees

Awesome trip! We stayed 2 nights. Our favorite part was hiking to the west Side of the island near crescent dock and camping there the first night. The sunset was unbelievably beautiful and being on the beach was awesome. You won’t be alone though. There were about 14 others around. The night sky was filled with stars.

Other things to note:
- Black flies were biting on the beach.
- trip cost about $100 for Park and ferry passes and parking.
- ferry took about 90min one way

Beauty beyond imagination! Native Wisconsin prairie was my favorite part of the park. Monarchs were hatching everywhere!

disappointed waterfall and creek dried up and not sure how to follow the trail

Great fun trail! Definitely coming back.

We hiked this trail a few days ago. Most of the trail was under a tree canopy and about the first mile was boardwalk. After that, there were some ups and downs and parts of the trail were rocky. When the trees opened so we could view Lake Superior and the sea caves, it was incredible. We went only a little bit past the caves for a total round trip of about 3.5 miles.

Lovely trails. Would be helpful to have more signage!
