Great hike. The trail can be a little confusing but you should not get lost. We saw a moose.

Great hike but very crowded and a lot of dogs (poop).

My husband and I completed this hike on August 18. We chose it because its short and flat.... perfect to do in my knee brace.

This is a nice, quick hike that's close to town! It's flat and covered in wood chips the entire way. It has some nice views of the Wasatch Front (and even a bench to sit on to enjoy the view), as well as some informational plaques about the local plants, geology, etc. There is zero shade, so bring plenty of water!

Good family trail

Just a quick walk but a beautiful little spot.

July 2018 - The trail is in two parts, there is the paved trail along the bottom caynon next to Provo River. Well maintained as part of the Provo river trail, many parking lots, and food trucks. The trail to go up the to the mid-point of the falls is pretty skech in places. Very narrow in many parts, and loose shale rock everywhere. There are a few places where the the trail has clearly been wiped out by rock slides and is a little puckering for the less then fleet of footed. There is also another option to get to the mid-point, climb the falls themselves, lots of loose shale rock, water, and steep.

Went on a Saturday in August with my family of four, including a four-year-old and seven-year-old. We got there at 6 AM, so we got on the trail before anyone else, but on the way down it was like a conga line going up to the falls. The trail was beautiful and the falls were pretty. We didn’t let the kids do the scramble up to the top off the falls although I did and enjoyed that little challenge at the end of the trail. The rest of the trail was great for both of my kids.

Obviously an easy hike. Didn’t do it though. Must park in parking lot and there is a $7 fee.

Beautiful trail leading to beautiful falls! This is a good choice for kids and inexperienced hikers.

Decided to do this hike with my two boys (8 and 10) after camping at the Spruces the night before. The boys complained about the incline going up from Brighton, but overall it really wasn't bad and was a great hike that I knew my boys could survive.

Delightful hike through the aspen trees.

amazing trail, moderately trafficked but not too bad, the landscape and veiws/forests are beautiful, no complaints!

It's steep, but the cave is beautiful. Great hike

great hike a little difficult for a beginner like me had to stop quite a bit to catch my breath and i also forgot the bug spray if you hike this Trail you're definitely going to need bug spray for all the mosquitoes... But once we reach the lake it was all worth it so beautiful up there

Really crowded which makes sense because it's not too strenuous or long so kids can come.

very very muddy right now. We didn't want to slip so we didn't climb down the rock to see the falls. Really pretty hike and worth it for sure.

Just visited today, hike is pretty easy until the steep part right before the lake as others have mentioned. The GPS location I got from AllTrails kept trying to make us take a private road on someone's property so I recommend stopping at the parking lot at the top of Guardsman Pass. Out of the 6 of us who swam in the lake only 1 found a leech on them so enter at your own risk!

Gorgeous water, beautiful wildflowers!

It's very easy hike. My two year old loved every minute of it. It's pretty and we loved the water fall.

It’s 1.5 miles straight up hill. No gradual rises but totally doable. Went with my sons 5th grade Fieldtrip and had a great time!

bring water shoes!

We ended up picking a really hot day to do this one and it was a little miserable at parts; I'd like to come back on a cooler day, probably it'd get a better rating after that. Looking at other reviews, I guess we didn't make it past the first stage of the hike, but we were looking for something wheelchair accessible so we might not have been able to enjoy the nicer parts anyway. We did see some wildlife--birds and butterflies, mostly. Pretty high traffic, there were even cars driving on the trail.

This was a good hike! Not too steep not too difficult! Gorgeous views and we saw a moose right next to the trail.

It was a great trail for my kids and us to walk. Did explore a lot around the lake and a ton of rocky areas my kids climbed the afternoon away.

The view is amazing. Anyone that says differently is taking it for granted. Bring lots of water because it gets hot and it’s uphill the whole way up. Make reservations ahead of time and bring a jacket for the caves because it can get fairly cold inside the caves. Loved it!!

Nice short hike to the falls. Trail is shadded well and not super rocky but it gets over crowded real quick, so go early to avoid the crowd and to have the falls all to your self.

Saw 5 different moose, a porcupine, and lots of deer! We started at the trail head at 530 AM ! Got to the top around 630 AM and watched the sunrise ! This is my favorite hike ever! So beautiful! Accurately labeled moderate!

Nice, easy and relaxing walk thru the woods.

a fun and easy trail

Short and easy hike. The only tough part was climbing the rocks to get a better view of the falls at the top. Saw a moose (!!!!) and tons of chipmunks along the way. I went on a Sunday around 11am and it was pretty crowded, but there were still plenty of parking spots on big cottonwood canyon road. From there I walked the .75ish miles on the paved road (FR019) to the trailhead.
