love it

This trail is absolutely gorgeous. The changing leaves are beautiful right now and the lake is beautiful. We accidentally found ourselves between a Bull moose and cow moose. The cow moose was only about 10 feet away from us so it took us an extra 20 minutes to get down since we decided to backtrack a bit to be safe and wait for the moose to move. I've seen a lot of moose up here. They are such neat animals. Just be careful!

This trail is a zoo up to Lake Mary, crowded and not super pretty with a view of the dam until you get up to Lake Mary. Lake Mary is a pretty lake. As is typical, once you get past 0.5 miles all of the crowds go away. After that it was beautiful, nice view down to Martha and then beautiful at Catherine. This is an easy hike overall. Fall colors are amazing. Oh and it hailed last night. Walk down and sunset colors were amazing. 5 for the natural beauty, 2 for the crowds to Mary.

Really nice hike...saw a bunch of deer around sunset when we went...saw a few people on the way there and back but didn’t feel crowded at all.

Beautiful hike. Steady incline, but not too bad. My GPS clocked me at 8.0 miles round trip. Took a total of 5 hrs (spent some time at the lake). We missed most of the fall leaves, but the hike was still nice. Ran into a few bikers and a hand full of trail runners. No wildlife :(

Great trail / climb! Amazing views of Catherine’s Lake and Cecret Lake up to Brighton.

The view draws the eye over to Mt Superior and across to Twin Peaks and beyond to Timp and Nebo ...

This is probably one of my favorite trails to run down !

went early morning hardly no one around and saw lots of wild life. It got very busy around 9am.

Just did an overnight backpack trip at red pine, and summited pfeifferhorn at sunrise the next morning. Definitely a challenging one, but It is gorgeous right now. Highly recommend. Also, if you happen to see my grey, kids, RVCA hat the fell off my pack on the hike, I'd love you forever for getting it back to me!

Great hike, easy to moderate. With the weather being so dry for so long, not much of a lake. Did run into a deer and moose along the way, it was a lot of fun. Next time we will hike on to Twin Lakes.

Much busier than any other trail I've done in the Wasatch, but gorgeous. Only problem is staying on the trail, as there are "false" tributaries all over the place. We kept losing the trail after Red Pine (Though never straying too far). The final ascent up the Pfeiff looks intimidating from afar but is easy once you're on it. The spine to get there is a little spicier, especially if you're afraid of heights, but it, too, is pretty straightforward. I never felt nervous.

Beautiful scenic hike overlooking the Little Cottonwood Canyon, yellow aspens were vibrant. A consistent uphill not any switchbacks that I can remember. Lots of rocks! Will hike this again

Sooo incredible. Perfect temps, great scenery, pretty easy hike too. Took the whole fam and kids had no trouble making the hike carrying their own packs. Their ages range from 7 to 12. Also had some fun little trails for us to explore in the morning around the lake too.

Absolutely beautiful. Great hike. Incredible lake and mountain views. Not too hard. 6 year old did it with his own pack. Try to take family backpacking and camping up here at least once a year.

This was a wonderful hike. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow. I did use the app to make sure we chose the right trail at one point. We were with a couple who wanted a shorter hike and this delivered but still offered an amazing view at the top. Parking can sometimes we tough but we happened to get one of the last spots. Parking on the road is not allowed. I’ve hiked in this area a lot and this is one of my favorite hikes because of the views. They are beautiful all along the way and especially on top of the peak! Highly recommended if you aren’t looking for something too strenuous.

Sunny trail. Beautiful scenery. The lake was beautiful, even if it was low. I would, however, say this trail is more than “lightly traveled”. On a Wednesday morning (around 10), I saw dozens of hikers and bikers.

The view was amazing, the hike was very nice We started at 8:15 and back at 1:, plus we spent time at the lake and ate lunch.

Not busy. Pretty rocky in spots. Stay to the right on the board walk to find trail head. Lots of shade. Enjoyable, relatively easy hike

The views are as good as it gets! We hiked on Labor Day, so lots of hikers and dogs. Not terribly strenuous and only took a few hours. The water at the lake above was cold and refreshing to swim in. I’ll definitely hike again with my dog.

Great hike. Amazing views of the entire Wasatch range, including Timpanogos to the south. A word to the wise: pay attention once you summit. I ended up going down the west side of the mountain and got stranded and had to be airlifted out. Also start early. I’m sure I could have hiked out of the next canyon if I had enough light, but after dark I wasn’t taking any chances. Stay safe my friends.

Tough hike but so very worth it for the views!

Great hike. Beautiful relaxing spot when you get to Lake Mary.

Gorgeous trail. Fall leaves beginning - probably a couple weeks to peak. Few people on the trail although 10 or so eating at the lake. Hiked with a 9 yo who was awestruck by the views and had no trouble with the uphills, the rocky areas nor the gravel downhills.

is nice place

Our first hike as a young family in the Wasatch Range, and we loved it! Perfect for folks looking for an easier hike. My wife and I were able to take our 5-month old on the entire trek using a Bjorn baby carrier without any trouble. She loved the mountain air!

Beautiful stop on the way to lake Catherine.

I live in Layton, but I will drive 45 minutes for this hike. BeaUTAHful views all the way up, with not to many people on the trail. Clear trail but it is up hill most of the way. Very shady and nice and windy around this time. A few bikers so keep an eye out. I ran down today and it was glorious!!! The lake is amazing too.

Pretty steep until you get to the first lake, but it’s worth it!

Ok so it was great and I saw chipmunks, black squirrels, and A MOOSE! But once I got over 9,000 feet, I couldn’t breathe LOL. I grew up in Florida and lived there all my life, so I’m not used to high elevations and I couldn’t breathe worth a damn once we got to 9,000 feet. But it was cool! Would totally go again. Lots of sliding rocks though, be careful coming back down from hiking!!! It’s easy to twist an ankle or fall.
