Nice trail around a pretty lake that can be run several times for distance if desired...trail is partially gravel and partially dirt which makes a nice combo for a flat trail run

everything was great until we reached the service road. It took a while but we finally found where the trail continued. It was hot so we didn't see any wildlife and only a few other people

I came to do some Geocaching in the preserve. Once you got off the short access trail from the trailhead by the ballfields, the trails were nice and wide and well maintained. Most trails were numbered but I did not have a map to help me know one trail from another. The elevation change in the area was quite unique for Florida. I later discovered that this area used to be phosphate mines which helped explain the topography. Mostly under tree cover except the north area along the railroad tracks. I did about 10 miles in the park and found it quite enjoyable on a mild October day.

on River Bend Trail Loop

Went mid morning for a nature walk. Was a nice and easy trail. Only draw back was once you crossed the service road on way back, the trail wasn’t very apparent so had to turn back and go back the way I came. But was overall a nice trail.

this was a nice paved trail. Great for urban geocaching.

Short and sweet. It is a nice evening walk with the kids.

Very well maintained, lots of scenery, good hike with access to side trails. Plenty of wildlife available to see! (I nearly stepped on a 3-Foot Corn Snake). 2 visible lakes, one with a covered patio area (Came in handy on the way back).

I hiked this trail on 10/06/2018 and the southern part of trail on your way back (roughly 2.7 miles into this trail around the larger lake) was swamped through and too muddy to get through without proper gear. However, nearly ALL of the rest of the trail was cleared and dried up.

There are a few runs in this trail that are VERY soft sand pits, stick to the edges of the trails in these areas and watch your footing.

lots of shade covering most of trail, good direction using the app, decent amount of trail markers, clear path, only ran into other trail goers every 10-15 min, saw a few deer, luckily did not see any gators though I'm sure they're in there, trails could easily flood so don't go right after any heavy rainstorms

beautiful Wildlife ,great paved and dirt trails, plenty of water facilities along the trail ...my favorite one so far

The view was amazing and I saw 3 deer.

Good short run. Nice trails. Can get 6-7miles with interest by varying route

the road around the park is real smooth, I saw a wild turkey and two blue birds

A nice trail—sadly it was flooded because of the lake was too high. Luckily there were fire roads that allowed for walking instead. Saw two gopher tortoise burrows one with a resident home for the day. Was a bit hot as there is basically no shade. But we managed to take a few rests so the dogs could cool off. There’s a pavilion, but no facilities.

Paved, easy to ride, run or walk. mostly shaded with a variety of scenery.

I remember going here as a child to walk the trail with my parents. Made some lasting memories here and hope to eventually bring my kiddo here as well :)

went the mid morning after rain the evening before and it was flooded out. trail unkept.

Perfect for a long run. Flat and paved.

Quiet break in the middle of town

We took our kids here last week for a nature walk and were pleased to find a good combination of wilderness and easy walking trails! The trailhead is a good walk away from the parking area. Walk down the road to the sidewalk and then go a ways down the sidewalk. You will be able to see a boardwalk through the brush before you can see the trail entrance. There is a map on the bulletin board and I would suggest snapping a photo of it before you go! We missed the blue blaze in the beginning and ended up going on the wrong trail, but all in all it was a fun hike!
