Easy and quick out and back. Not much to take pictures of and the big sign warning of bears at the beginning made it a less than relaxing hike. There are better trails in Sedona.

Excellent day trip for those in great shape! Steep uphills going through Yosemite Slide, but you will appreciate the NPS trail crews for all their work over the years to keep this trails accessible! The Marker can be found on El Cap. You just need to walk slowly down the rock. It's close to where the climbers make their final assent! :-) It's interesting to observe the reactions of the climbers when they reach the summit. Many of them are laughing tears of joy!

This is nice but heavily travelled with A LOT of people. If you can get to the 'Horse Trail' aka John Muir Trail, you can avoid the long lines going up the Mist Trail. These trails are the 'gateway' to Little Yosemite. Once in Little Yosemite, you can head up Half Dome or Cloud's Rest.

Some trails are boring because of way too many switchbacks. This is one of them. HOWEVER, once you reach Glacier Point the views are well worth the effort! It would have gotten 5 stars if those switchbacks weren't so dizzying! Bring water and watch out for those who are running DOWN those crazy switchbacks.

Well worth the hike! Once you make it to the top you've got a nice flat area to walk along Yosemite Creek before making a left hand turn to hike to Eagle Peak (Near the summit of El Capitan). A great view of the valley floor and if you walk a little further up the trail you can see the reaction of the rock climbers who make it to the top of El Capitan! Very worthwhile experience! (There's a spring hidden in the granite along the rock slide area of the upper Yosemite Falls trail) Few find it but the water is fantastic!

A great day hike if you’re up for the challenge! I highly recommend. The trail got icy and really snowy but we plowed through to enjoy some of the best views I’ve ever scene.

Did this hike in mid December and it was great- some icy patches along the way at the time but navigable in hiking shoes alone. Beautiful view from the top of the falls!

The whole trail is amazing. This hike has scenic views the entire way up and down which made it special.Priceless!
Whole trip took almost 6 hours round trip, including breaks to strip off clothings layers, lunch, take pics, take a time at the overlook. Things I would recommend bringing, specialy in winter: a good pair of boots and micro-spikes. It gets icy at the top! he last 1.5 miles of the switchbacks are covered in snow and ice.

We did this trail on January 18th. The trail got snowy(up to about 3/4 ft) when you got all the way to the top, but most of it had no snow. The views at the top as well as the entire way up are absolutely breathtaking. Was quite challenging for the average hiker but a million times worth it.

Amazing view, totally worth the trip!

We did this hike January 11th and were astonished with how warm it was! We brought MANY layers ready for chilly weather but we ended up stripping down to a single layer of pants and t-shirt! If you start from 7-9AM you are going to be in direct sunlight for the entire trip up with little intervals of shade. With that said, we were so happy to feel the suns warmth (hot!!) because we were coming from freezing Boston weather. This hike had scenic views the entire way up and down which made it really special. The half dome is perfectly visible throughout the first 2 miles of the hike or so. Then the views switch to the falls! Gorgeous. Perfect introduction to Yosemite. Took us about 6 hours because we had breaks of taking off layers.

—WARNING—

The last 1.5 miles of the switchbacks are covered in snow and ice. We brought spikes for our shoes and we cruised along but we saw MANY fall hard. To enjoy the entirety of the hike, definitely buy shoe spikes!

This was my favorite hike of all time. The difficult hike up is totally worth it because of the amazing views. Did this hike in the middle of December, and there was only a little bit of ice towards the top.

This is a good hike, but be prepared. we hiked yesterday (8/1/18). We started at 1am and I would recommend starting between 12-1am (especially if you are planning on hiking at a 10 hour or slower pace!). The views are amazing and hiking with the moon is really cool. The way the weather is I would recommend leaving the top by 10. The 3.5 miles on the crest take a while and is dangerous when the storm starts. The last water is on switch back 23ish. It's good clean water right from a spring. If it rains the trail rivals any major water park. The trail will become a river. It rained while we were on the switch backs and you will get wet. The puddles are unavoidable. I had fun hiking and splashing on the way down in the rain. I loved this hike and would do it again.
This mountain is not a joke, if you are hiking do research, train before you go, and bring all the proper gear (a good rain coat) Be Safe and have fun.

The perfect walk to start your trip into the Sequoias. Within this hour you’ll learn everything you need to know to spot young or old sequoias, what type of environment is most suitable for growth, and a little history about the park. It’s perfect for all ages and super easy to complete.

The trail is in perfect condition and provides a scenic, easy in and out hike through lush greenery with spectacular views of the red rocks that Sedona is famous for.

We went up to Nevada falls via the Mist Trail and then looped back down the John Muir switchbacks. If you like to hike you must do this - it’s beautiful and rewarding. I love this hike. We went when the falls were just thundering and we were soaked so be prepared for that possibility depending on how Vernal falls is running. If you’re in Yosemite and have not done this hike just do it you will not regret it! Spectacular views.

Amazing, challenging hike with breathtaking views of the valley from Cloud's Rest. The climb at the beginning is a bit of a gut buster and I had a little trouble following the trail when I got to one of the boulder fields on the way up, but not on the way down. The reason to do this hike, though, is for the final half mile or so up the narrow spine of rock to Cloud's Rest, with a 2,000+ foot drop on either side of a trail just a few feet wide. Once at the peak, it is pretty incredible to look down upon Half Dome and Yosemite Valley.

Nice and easy dog friendly hike with beautiful views!! Highly recommend the last scramble up the rocks to see the view!! 2 miles round trip!

Hard Core with excellent views hiking up and at the summit! Coming down...tough on the knees.

JM trail was closed so we couldn't do the loop in mid october. Ended up doing out and back on the mist, still a great hike. Definitely one of the more popular trails in the valley, so be prepared for lots of traffic on trail.

We did this hike in mid-December. While cold on the valley floor, we quickly warmed up with both the elevation gain and increased exposure to the sun. Really busy at the base of the hike but thins out as different path options are made available. Beautiful views of the valley and two legendary waterfalls. Great places to stop for lunch or enjoy a beer. Easy to follow, although we weren't able to do the full loop due to trail closures from rockfall risk.

Challenging hike but the views are worth it. I'd definitely like to check it out in the Spring. Trail got pretty busy on the way down so start early.

Did with my 60 year old parents at the end of November. Some snow on upper part (past lookout point). Amazing views. Using poles and frequent breaks it took us all day.

Great in winter to get to Glacier Point. Also amazing views throughout multiple valleys.

Heavy snowfall made this hike very enjoyable on NY day.

Awesome trail that is almost completely uphill out and downhill back. This is a do not miss hike when in Yosemite. The views get better and better as you go. Completed it over New Years so it was a little icy on the stairs by the top of the falls but there is a little side route to avoid the ice if you need.

Great views! LOTS of hard switchbacks straight up. Take more water than you think you’ll need and trail running shoes are a must. This is definitely the hardest trail I’ve done, also be sure to leave early!

Went to the end of trail and the hike just started. Carry forward up the mountain along the trail for another half mile or so. Awesome sites

The most rewarding part is the last half mile! Really gets your heart going and the view was phenomenal. Cell service was also surprisingly great since I was able to facetime my parents at the top lol

Awesome trail!!! If you plan well, go during a full moon. The light of the moon reflects off the granite mountains and lights up the entire area. For the most part the trail is well distinguished however there are two spots where the trial is on granite rocks with no trial marks. Walked trail late September and there was minimal water running in streams so bring plenty of you plan on hiking at that time. But plenty of water at end of hike at the lakes.
