We went to West Fork in August. This trail is definitely shaded by all the beautiful pines so you don't have to worry too much about the sun and heat. Having all the creeks to cross definitely was refreshing and nice to cool your feet off. The water wasn't very high. We saw so many people with bathing suits on thinking they were going to swim but the water is definitely not high enough. The hike was very picturesque but definitely not a favorite. I kept wondering when the trail was done so we could go back. We did go all the way to the end to see the canyons everyone was talking about but it wasn't that impressive. All in all it was still a super nice day trip and relaxing being out in nature but I'm not sure I'd opt to do west fork again.

great views, but extremely busy. We went early and were able to beat the crowds a bit. I'd recommend going at sunrise instead of sunset to avoid glares in photos.

Started at around 8 am Saturday morning and got there just as some of the early birds were finishing so got a great parking spot!
beautiful hike and I would say definitely moderate ( some parts pretty easy and more challenging near the top)
my Fitbit clocked it at 3.75 km up so 7.5 km total. would do again but hopefully get there for sunrise next time

Considerable amount of snow up here on 10/19. Bring poles or an ice ax and wear boots with crampons/microspikes. Post-holed quite a bit near the summit so snowshoes should also be a consideration depending on weather conditions. High winds on the ridge the last mile or so. Hike was 10 miles roundtrip and the views were incredible. I could see both the Grand Canyon and Sedona from the summit. Also, AMS is real. If you’re coming from low elevation spend at least a night in Flagstaff to acclimate. You’ll feel better the day of your hike if you do.

Couldn't make it to summit due to snow and wind but will return soon. One of the best games that I ever had.

I enjoyed the entire hike in and out. the canyon and falls are beautiful and nice to see in person.

First time hiking Humphreys and did it on 10/20 and the trail was covered in snow and thigh deep past the saddle. It took 4 hours to get to the top and 3 to get back down. Definitely bring layers, a face mask for the wind, and lots of snacks. The winds were around 30 mph at the top. This hike is really satisfying to complete and you will feel accomplished afterwords! My fit bit said it was 14 miles. It was a long hike either way be prepared. I would do this again but maybe once the snow melts.

Best trail in Sedona

Hike to the water isn’t bad- I’d recommend not going in hot summer months. (Don’t forget your parking permit.) hike up after swimming all day was brutal/ brings lots of water. Also may not be the best hike for a dog.

A little overrated in my opinion. Just a nice nature walk through a cool geological phenomenon, nothing spectacular or “worth the effort” at the end. Not good for seclusion as it’s extremely busy.

Really good hike and I would say it is moderate. You get the up hill part done first, so that's nice. There are really great views for being in Phoenix. I would definitely go again.

Hiked with our 8 and 13 year olds and they did just fine. We did go off path to find the secret cave and that was quite an adventure. Definitely a good choice for a moderate hike and beautiful views.

Fun little quick hike with some scrambling at the end near the cave. We were surprised how big the cave was. Beautiful area!

This my was dogs first hike! She loved it! She was climbing up the rocks and had the biggest smile on her face with her tongue out :) It was beautiful to watch the sunset. Super easy, but climbing the higher parts was fun!

Best hike ever! Totally breathtaking and worth it. But good gear and it will be all smiles.

Great hike until the last few hundred feet, it becomes a little steep. Great views from top and very rewarding

Took about an hour and fifteen minutes just keeping a brisk walking pace. Got in and out just before sunset. Really rocky in most parts of the trail so look where you are going. Not too much elevation but it’s a good quick hike.

It’s a little congested, however very scenic.

All age ranges were on the trail, and I noticed how very polite people were.

I liked all the stream crossings, and the canyon walls curl over you at times which was awesome.

Have fun!

Does anyone want to buy my reservation? Oct 21-23 weather isn’t looking good and I’m not willing to take any chances. Did this hike last year and was reallly looking forward to it. 4802905744

Holy crap this hike was awesome! The lottery system keeps crowds down to 20 people per day, which you really appreciate when you arrive.

It was beautiful! I loved it. It is on the Navajo land. You must go with a tour guide. In the past there have been deaths here due to flash flood. So I decided to go with a guide from Dixie tour. The guide Melaney was great and friendly. I highly recommend going there early to avoid the crowd. Book in advance and follow all the instructions. It cost me $50 but it was worth every penny. Don’t recommend it if you are claustrophobic.

one of my favorite hikes. easy to moderate then the last 500 feet is difficult.

Do not drive this road in rain unless you have 4WD. Listen to the ranger.

Great experience! Must do!

Went after the storm, the creek was running and the hiking was a completely different experience. Highly recommend before the creek dries up

Went on a Sunday and saw maybe 2 other groups on the trail . It’s an incredibly easy hike - the end is sandy but still easy. If you get there before 8am no entrance fee! Amazing views!

As good as it gets. Well worth the effort to the top. Strava clocked it at about 10.5 miles. Trail is well marked...it was covered in snow yesterday. Lots of it. Definitely wear sunblock. Drank about 2L of water. Bring salty snacks. Dress in layers... you'll go from cold to hot the entire hike. This hike won't disappoint...I'll be back again soon.

Great hike with many wonderful views.
