Beautiful hike. Hardly saw anyone else on trail. A bit confusing when you get closer to the waterfall but we were able to find a nice shady spot near the water.

Beautiful wild flowers, though here are definitely less as this point in the season. The lake is fun too. If the ski lift is running, you can take it down the mountain for free! Busy hike

Great hike. Many trails, easy to get off on a different path

Awesome hike with low traffic even late morning on a Sunday. The trail markings are awful though! You take Timanookee trail for about a mile and a half, cross a stream, and take a left at the fork right after. Shortly after that you will start climbing rocks that get steeper towards the top and then you are there! I took a 4.5 and 6 year old with me and I don’t think I’d do that again with those rocks. The falls are very small right now. Overall nice, pretty hike!

Great trail. Steep at the beginning, but it levels out and you get some nice meadow views of Timp.

We took our 9 and 11 year old girls, they did just fine with a few stops for water; we hit the trail at noon in mid-August, it was dry and hot, but lots of sections of the trail had shade, which our kids liked.

Great trail for biking or walking. Pretty flat.

Falls are only a bit more than a trickle this time of year. Steeper hike than you'd think

LOVED this hike. Took about 2.5 hours round trip and it was so worth it.

This is an awesome trail for a quick hike.

Anyone giving this a bad review probably just has a bad attitude.

The falls are beautiful, and there are some great views.

Sunday afternoon was a great time to do this. I only ran into a few people.

Nicely paved clean walking trail. Great for strollers! Kind of busy in the evenings and the occasional asshole biker

did this hike today. very steep in places very beautiful wooded hike with the sound of the river always near and the falls at the end was amazing. well worth the hike.

great hike with great views!! made for a nice escape from the smokey valley too. there is one spot that was a bit sketchy, but our dog did it no problem. you basically climb up some trees roots hanging over the trail. the falls were so cold, so I don't recommend standing under them. ;) and the flowers were beautiful too!!! I'd definitely do this one again.

There are several ways to get here, but the outdoors hiking group I went with started from the bottom and hiked our way up: 5 miles round trip. We started our trail behind Albion Grill and slowly worked our way up. Along the trail, you'll see wildflowers, deer, a hidden restaurant, tons of hikers, stunning green foliage, and be greeted at the end with a lake. I didn't see any moose on the trail, but others have seen them in the past.

If you're not up for hiking 5 miles, you can pay $6.00 to park closer going 1.5 or 3 miles round trip instead.

Pictures doesn't do any justice for Cecret Lake. You actually have to be there and experience the views yourself. Hopefully my pictures show how peaceful this place can be with tons of hikers around! Just gotta find that sweet spot that no one will be around to photobomb your lake!

on Sunset Peak Trail

Really nice hike. I usually go up to Catherine Pass from the Brighton side, going by all the lakes, but the Albion Basin side is nice too. The trail is a mile shorter if you are able to park right at the Catherine Pass trailhead. On the Albion Basin side you are going to have to deal with the entry fee and the limited parking unless you go early in the morning. Right now, you are also going to have to deal with road construction as well.

I have seen lots of moose and deer on this trail, but not today. And the wildflowers are pretty much out of bloom, but it's still very pretty. The views were not great this morning, because of all the forest fire smoke right now. The smoke probably doesn't help with the breathing at high altitude either.

From Catherine Pass you can go up to Sunset Peak on a very easy to follow trail, or you can go over to a high point that looks down on the top of the Supreme lift at Alta. The trail to Sunset Peak is fine, with a few steep sandy stretches which make me nervous coming down, but are really not a problem. If you go in the other direction at Catherine Pass, you are heading up to Mount Tuscarora and Mount Wolverine, which is more challenging.

I’ve done this hike twice this summer. Once on an early Sunday and once more the following Wednesday after court for my speeding ticket in the town of Alta. Make sure you slow down as the speed limit changes from 40 to 25.

I parked at the Alta ski resort and hiked from there. You can drive up further to an upper parking lot, which shortens the hike substantially.

This was a great trail run with amazing views and plenty of room to pass others hiking. My total elevation gained was 1,119ft and took me 1:07 a total distance of 4.8 miles.

Most of the 3 miles is on the paved Provo canyon trail so we just parked at the upper falls park and went from there.
There is a side trail that leads to 3 additional water falls if you're up for the adventure.

Beautiful! So so beautiful!!! But hard to find. Really should call it Hidden Falls. Wednesday I tried finding it but was confused by the map also I was thinking it was the upper part of Bridal Veil. Two different trails. So Saturday late afternoon/ early evening and after researching I was able to find the trail. Lot of people down where it is paved but very few on the trail. It is steep but doable even for a 5 year old. A lot of it is shaded. Once at the bottom of the Falls my daughters (17 and 5) and I decided to see if we could find the trail to take us up to the next part of the Falls. It was hard to find and it took my 17 climbing up part of the rock face to find the trail for us. The trail was narrow and if you are afraid of heights the bottom of the Falls is great. But the real treat is going higher. So so incredible!

Not a bad hike. About 1.75 miles up from the main trailhead. Took me roughly 30 min to the lake with a mixture of trail running and hiking. I would give this hike a 4* if it weren’t for the road access. I would rather hike to a lake that has only one way to it...foot. Also, the total ascent was only 886 from the trailhead. Total time 1:03. Oh and there was a dead horse on the trail.

The wildflower did bloom early this year. However, if you explore some of the shady area by the river there are still some beautiful flowers in bloom. Albion basin is always beautiful no matter the season. However, on the weekends during the summer it does get a little crowded.

Beautiful hike! Everything was green and lush on the trail. Lots of people coming down from seeing the sunrise on Timp but the trail wasn't too crowded. When we got to the falls there was only one other small group there so we got some peace and quiet and cooled off next to the water. Our little dog loved it too! Good hike for families and people of all ages!

This was a really fun hike. The scenery is excellent with a good mix of open meadows with wildflowers to more dense tree cover. The lake was a great reward at the end and a fun place to relax for a bit. Not the most strenuous hike, but I’m glad we did it.

We loved this trail! I went with my brother and 6 month baby in a carrier. We tried it once in the heat of the day and couldn’t make it with my daughter but tried again in the morning and it was perfect for all of us. Make sure you to take the right at the first fork. There is a part where you have to climb up some tree roots but it was not too bad. There were several elderly people who were hiking it just fine. In total it was about 2-2.5 hours round trip. (With lots of time enjoying the falls.)

Fun hike! We went mid-day and we're grateful to have some occasional shade. I would recommend doing this hike in the morning when it is not as hot. The waterfall is definitely worth it when you get there!

It was a pretty boring trail until you hit the creek which was a lot more fun. Pretty view of bridal veil but nothing you can’t see from the highway. No one else on the trail which was nice. The stone couch was a nice place for a picnic.

Beautiful scenery.

The wildflowers were still in bloom, the views spectacular and a relatively easy hike for such a beautiful view.

Incredible views! Stunning evening hike, beautiful all around, with the perfect amount of challenge!

We were up July 26 and were probably a good 2 or 3 weeks past wildflower peak. Still plenty of flowers in bloom but vast majority have come and gone. I think the Wildflower Festival is this weekend. Going to be some disappointed peepers. Need to adjust schedule for climate change.
