This trail has it all- hills in and out of the trees, a fantastic view at the top, off-paths for bicycles, and runs right by the river. It’s a local favorite.

Great for a level run or walk, but they need to expand it further up and downstream. Lots of bicyclists

Very convenient location and it does give ya a good elevation hike for a short distance trail. One negative is the interstate noise. Otherwise it’s a nice green zone full of trees and a variety of ozark highlands and river bottoms. I hope they connect the park with others up and downstream. This place can’t match Castlewood, but it has a nice vibe considering you are in the shadow of I-270 and I-44. It’s also right next door to the last Lemp mansion (private property unfortunately!)

Great for starters!

Great views all the way through, I would recommend this hike. Prepare yourself for the armada of mosquitoes though haha!

My first time hiking and I thought it was not only easy enough but beautiful. I saw the bluffs with the river view and a creek bed. Lots of great photo opportunities

I'm a local to this Park it's a favorite camping place of mine. the trail is a nice walk in the mornings. they reopened the restaurant and winery, good food at a decent price and they started renting small boats again. Camping, fishing and a good walk in the wilderness.

I loved this trail!

This is my favorite trail!!! Always clean. Everyone is so friendly. Almost everyone has their dogs there! Beautiful scenery, great spots for pictures!!!

Quick hike; good hill factor and the views from the top are soooooo worth it!

It was a beautiful trail, but poorly and confusingly marked. Even using the map here on Alltrails, somehow I wound up only going 2.3 miles. I suspect I missed a turn somewhere. More flashes, like in the state parks, would be helpful--

I enjoyed the rocky terrain of the trail. I didn’t care for the busy road noise right next to the trail.

Definitely would recommend, trail can get confusing. Easy to walk and even good if you wanted to run it!

Nice trail!

Great trail on the edge of the suburbs! Very active park, there was a trail race event going on while I was there, but still I had plenty of room to hike this route comfortably. There's some good bits of elevation gain and fabulous bluff views along the South edge. Most of the trail has plenty of room to let mountain bikers pass, but do keep aware for them coming around corners.

I was amazed by the wildlife. Deer were grazing by the side of the road as I drove into the park, as if it was a zoo, and I encountered another one which let me get within 20 feet before casually trotting away. Lots of birds flying around. I was VERY glad I brought bug spray, so don't forget yours!

Only reason it's not 5 stars is the vehicle and train traffic noise you can't really get away from. Not bad, but always there.

Good Little hidden gem of a trail for the area. Decent little climb considering this area is flatter than a pancake.

Great intensity!

great trail. well maintained. liked the different terrains. very quiet and peaceful.

Pretty easy trail for the loop that goes up to the glades. Can get through it in about 25 minutes if you have a moderate pace.

easy to follow..friendly...beautiful scenery..genius additions

Lovely hike for a mid-summer hike! The trail was balanced with both hills and flat areas. The trail is gravel/dirt and narrow with overgrown brush in areas. Most of the trail is shaded. We saw countless elk, deer, and turkey along the trail. At times we had to take an alternate route to avoid disturbing the wildlife on the trail. We inspected ourselves after the hike and found we were covered in hundreds of seed ticks on us despite DEET insect repellent. We drove through the bison area but didn’t have any sightings. We will return again soon!

Fun trail to run. A couple of those hills are just plain evil which is always a plus. The trail is marked pretty well and was maintained for the most part. There was a small overgrown section and a downed tree on the path. I'll definitely come back to this one again.

Very beautiful and shaded. There were a lot of dirt trails that went all over the place and were hard to follow. The main path was paved.

Nice walking trail. Saw some butterflies and enjoyed the little signs describing the plants.
