Want to Hike Map

Great hike. Good mix of up and down, rock climbing formations and easy to walk terrain.

Scenic and quiet!

Great trail, the kids loved it!! Mostly in shaded area, beautiful scenery and versatile.
If walking with small children MUST behave carefully around cliff view.

Gorgeous view! Great short loop to take dogs on, especially if they like to swim! Most dogs are off-leash and friendly.

Fun and challenging hike. Great views.

Good hill and forest hike with shortcuts through for lazy days. and fun place to see and feed the chickadees!

A great and flat trail. This trai is also good for running (no all the way).
I parked there without any issue.

I did the Acton/Limehouse side of the trail and there are a few things you should know.

1) The access point is very hard to find!! I was not able to find the access in Limehouse on Fifth Line, and it may no longer exist. There is an access point on Fourth Line just pass the quarry fence. You will see an orange blaze painted on a wooden post - head up that hill to find the start. There is a second access point on Glen Lawson road. You will notice an orange blaze painted on a 60km/h road sign. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the trail continues past here towards Guelph.

2) There is no parking lot. I left my car on the side of the road. But at least it's free.

3) The trail was very poorly marked! The blazes were sparse and hard to follow. There are lots of crossing paths and it was difficult to know which one to take. I got lost and had to double back more than once.

4) The trail was certainly challenging, as advertised. The path was narrow and overgrown at parts. There were steep hills. The trail is mostly sand. The only other person I encountered on the trail was a dirt biker. There are lots of tire tracks through the forest so it seems like it is used by them often. It is not a place I'd bring children or a dog.

Overall, a fun trail but really poorly marked and maintained. I'd appreciate if locals had any better insight.

Southern part of the loop is poorly maintained. One section of it have to walk in waist high weeds

Easy trail with nice forest path to the falls. Took about 30-40 minutes to reach the falls with frequent stops and leisurely walk. When you reach the falls, there is a wooden stairs to go down and take nice photos. Its a family friendly hike!

I hiked this trail with my dog in May. We started the trail around 2pm. It took us about 3.5 hours in total with stops along the way. The trail wasn't too overcrowded since it was a week before the May long weekend.
It's a beautiful trail, and the view at the top definitely makes the climb worth it! It can be tough climbing some of the larger rocks along the route, and it isn't always clear where the trail is. There are lots of places to stop and take in the views along the route. Would definitely recommend this trail!

Great hiking trail through forest and a good workout!

Trail ran it on a beautiful sunny day. Thin trails with most areas under tree cover. Nice offshoot just over half way where you can duck down and chill by the river.

It registered 9.3km for our hike out and back and was a great hike - part of it even goes through a cattle pasture! Lots of free parking. Park at the model railway museum or behind the home hardware store.

Amazing views! Make sure to wear good tread hiking shoes/boots. Rocks can be slippery to climb on when wet.

Great trail. Suggest going right from the trailhead to begin the loop. This makes it easier to manoeuvre the cave section at the end. (Easier climbing up the cave section than down)

Enjoyable trail with the highlight of hiking through the caves.
A few rocky climbs which could be slippery if wet.
Some deep holes to watch out for if hiking with small kids. Ours loved it.

Great trail for a day hike with beautiful scenery.
must have: good hiking boots, comfortable backpack, plenty of water and food. My hiking boots were good but not THAT good, near the end of the 10km my feet were a little tender.
I definitely recommend this trail as a Medium in difficulty.

This trail has beautiful look out spots.
The terrain is extremely difficult, lots of long, steep inclines. Bring lots of water and snacks. It took us a little over 4 hours to complete with few stops.

Great trail - enough of a challenge and beautiful views!

Awesome trail. I went with my parents (64years old) and it took us 6 hours to complete. The trail was slippy because of dramatic rainfall and we did stop and rest a lot.
My mom regretted the trail, I would do it again. Lovely views, it had all I wished for!
