I don't usually review trails, but this one is pretty great! We went a little later, so it wasn't as busy. But we got to a point in the trail where a moose and her baby were on the trail. We had to wander off the trail but it was an awesome experience. The scenery is also beautiful. It's 4 miles but it's very casual.

Great hike, say a lot of wildlife, moose, deer, elk. Fishing wasn't to great, but what can you expect since it's almost November.

Great hike with breathtaking views. Saw lots of chipmunks but no bears! Had bear spray just in case. My husband and I really enjoyed this hike.

Great hike! Plenty of good views and not too difficult. We didn’t see any, but watch for bears and moose as they are active in the area!

Awesome scenery

Great longer hike around the lake. We started near the jenny lake overlook and went to the right (looking at the lake). We were the only people in the trail until the intersection trailhead. Continued into hidden falls as a nice side trip before finishing the loop. Went past moose pond, did not see any moose or wildlife. It was snowing dueing our hike so the view of the mountains wasnt good, however the snow was pretty.

very well maintained trail with a lot of spectacular scenery to photograph.

Very beautiful around the lake!

We did this the week of the total solar eclipse and caught a glimpse of a moose.

A great backpacking trail with nice lake views at the top. Be sure to take a water filter if you are planning to camp at the top.

Easy trail- we hiked early this morning when it was sprinkling. No moose, no bears and only met other hikers when we were leaving. Enjoyed the quiet. Later saw 5 moose off Moose-Wilson road and hwy 22 in Jackson. LOL.

Really pretty. Did the trail with wife and three kids. First part, to Taggart Lake, was lead by a park ranger, which was awesome. Great variety of scenery along the trail, with fantastic views of Grand Teton throughout.

Enjoyable hike completed over 2 early mornings. First from east boat station to west side of lake, hidden falls and lower inspiration point. We took boat back to east side($9ea. 10 min ride). Afternoon spent on moose pond loop accessible from main trail. Next morning hiked from east boat station over north route to west boat dock. Saw many deer. Great views of Jenny lake and feed waters from string lake at the northern panhandle. The trail detours here from lake shore to foot bridge across upper panhandle (Portasans at nearby parking lot). Again reached hidden falls trail head and took boat back to east shore. Wife did not duck low enough under fallen pine blocking trail resulting in bloody scalp wound. Wasn’t clear about length or difficulty of entire lake trail in one hike but in hindsight it is doable for a couple of sixty somethings taking their time over mix of flat/ rocky/ hilly terrain. Watch out for fallen trees ha.

Great early fall day. This trail is beautiful and very accessible as well. We did the full seven mile loop around the lake without straining. The 700 foot elevation change is mostly in the first mile or so. The rest was just a great walk in the woods. Saw what we believe was a mink, a ptarmigan and even a bear. Fantastic trail!

Beautiful hike! BRING BEAR SPRAY! We were growled at as we switchbacked down the lake. You can read more about it here: https://practicalvagabonds.com/caution-bears-in-the-area/

Pretty trail...rated Moderate but an easy moderate

One of our absolute favorite hikes!! It’s long, but not a hard hike with lots of beautiful views!

Easy to moderate.

Hiked moose pond loop early afternoon. Observed/ photoed bull moose feeding in pond. Later thru meadow area, was surprised by and photoed another bull moose emerging from brush. Few mid sept hikers on full loop, most stop at pond and return to hidden falls trail. Meadow trail unmarked can be challenging to follow at times although not far from parking has a remote feeling about it and look of good bear habitat. Very enjoyable hike. Bear spray raises comfort level w this trail.

Easy warm up trail with a preview from the rangers in the Rockefeller Center. Reminds you of the great legacy the family left for the public to enjoy

Easy, afternoon ramble through conifer forests to a glacial lake of aqua and blue. Do the trail going counter-clockwise - the elevation gain is much more gradual and you get rewarded instantly with a beautiful cascading creek flanked by golden birch trees. It is very windy on this trail, so bring a jacket - cool in the forest, blazing in the open fields. After leaving the lake, the hike takes you up to the summit of a butte/hill covered in pine trees. Get a glimpse of Taggart Lake from here - it's amazing. Continue on another 0.25 mile and you'll be rewarded with an expansive view of the park looking south. Once downhill, the trail becomes a means to an end (parking lot) - not a lot to see other than a flat plain and some dense pines. Def worth a few hours and great opportunity to take some great pictures. Enjoy!

Upper Lake was great.Leg burner for the last quarter mile. Don't look for campsites by the lake but pick your birds nest north of the lake by abandoned outhouse. Plenty of knobs to choose from.

If you like trails that allow you to be shaded from conifers, well trafficked, but sometimes rocky trails, refreshing streams and falls for a good .5 mile of a ~4 mile hike and vistas that include lakes and mountains, then this hike is for you. We hiked this after driving in from South Dakota and it was a perfect way to stretch our legs. The Fall colors are an added bonus. No wildlife, although the idea of bears kept me on alert!

Definitely add the Bradly Lake loop to get the beat views of Taggert Lake! So gorgeous!! Great views of the tetons and the water. We were pressed for time so cut our loop short and still had an amazing hike! Would definitely do again!!

A fabulous trail that can be adjusted to meet your needs and time.

We hiked the full circle today with side trips to Inspiration Point and Hidden Falls. Hidden Falls is a GEM of a waterfall and very easy to get to. You can hike from the south Jenny Ranger Station, or from the north from the String Lake parking or even right a boat to the base of the falls and just hike up the gorge 1/4 mile. Take your pick.

Ok, here is my list.
1. The circle is 7.7 miles but the side routes adds another 1.2 miles
2. Western side of the lake trail has a moderate climb up to the falls. Otherwise the trail is very easy and well maintained
3. The Western side has two trails coming from the Ranger Station. The lower trail is closed for restoration.
4. Get to the parking lot early otherwise you will be doing a hike before you start your hike
5. The Eastern side of the lake trail is virtually flat and dirt with an occasional rock or root. Very easy
6. The only treacherous part of the trail is a rock slide area on the west side before you arrive at the falls. The rocks are loose and sharp.
7. We had deer on the trail with us for over a mile and only left the trail when we arrived at the String Lake creek
8. The burn area on the west side is sun exposed but offers a lot of diversity in plants which are giving good color right now
9. The trail is crowded from the southern parking lot to the falls on the west side
10. Runners use the eastern side

And Hidden Falls is flowing very very very well. It is worth every step of the trip

loved it!

The beauty is amazing and I did see a big black bear about 50 yards away.

I’m not sure why they would call this moderate difficulty as it has no vertical movement at all.

The views are a must. Highly recommended.

Nice trail with great views. Follows stream most of the way to the lake. Uphill and rocky but worth the trip.
