I am addicted to this place. Eagle heaven. A lovely walk and an amazing spot to see eagles.Bring binoculars.

A beautiful trail with the most insane fern forest!!! It is. a nice winter walk but much nicer the rest of the year because the ferns die out a bit.

I would consider this on the more difficult side of moderate only because of the incline. The views from the top make all the effort getting there worth it.
There were tree trunks and quite a few rocks on the trail but other than that doable. I saw many dogs and young kids so anyone can do this hike.

This was one was a surprise for me. I had no idea it was here. Great amount of hills. Pretty little creek. Nice forest/canyon setting. Decent amount of distance. Although it was longer than advertised. My biggest complaint is that it is not the most secluded. You can still here cars and construction equipment. Decent signage throughout. Easy to follow trail. Dog loves this one.

Nice little hike with good views of the sound at the end. very easy difficulty, recommended for kids and dogs. it is a little muddy so probabaly no tennis shoes.

I loved this trail down to the water. Perfect for a quick little walk.

can be slippery in spots and muddy. Just depends on what time of year you go.
You can walk under the waterfall. If you dont want to get soaked from the mist of the falls, make sure you are wearing rain gear. Fun place to cool down in the summer

great trail lots of water crossings, some fairly deep full height hiking boots, but some great views and sounds of the river rushing by.

Love this trail. Takes us an hour 45 to go up and down, we run most of the way down. There are logs down over the trail currently just FYI!

Lots of downed trees but very hikeable and busy Sunday morning. Clouds in the valley looked great!

Great trail, constant gain in elevation! This trail gives you no breaks. We went left at the Y and it seemed everyone we passed did as well. It was snowing and once you reached the Y it started accumulating. By the time we reached the summit it was several feet deep. Gators and micro spikes a must. You could use snow shoes, but would be till you nearly reached top. This is a very tight trail with lots of obstacles. Also, thanks to whoever installed the orange ribbons, it was a lifesaver in the snow!

about as fun as walking through a golf course could be...

Went around 1030am on a Friday and there wasn’t much of a crowd. The trail is well maintained and you can feel the slight incline going up but it’s not overly challenging. Beautiful views at the top and a good spot to take a break with a snack before heading down. Took a little under two and half hours in total.

One of my all time favorite trails. The view is beautiful and I went on a clear day so you could see for miles and miles. We brought lunch to eat once we got up to the top as well.

Loved this hike, would suggest to start really early to avoid the crowds on your way up.

Pretty steep decline right off the bat. Features an awesome waterfall and lake. The way back kicks your butt!

Beautiful! You are able to get very close to this waterfall. It’s kid friendly, and dog friendly. It does get super cold the closer you get to the waterfall. There’s a small cave near the waterfall to see as well. Some areas are muddy. Definitely watch your step so you don’t fall.

Nice hike in mostly flat terrain except for the beginning and the end. The river is gorgeous and there are some down trees but you can get around them.

The dog, the boy(11 years old) and I hikes this on Saturday 1/19/19. The trail is very muddy, not impossible but boots you don't mind ruining are a must. The trail itself is very flat, not a lot of hills hence the easy rating. No trail head markings or signage along the way. We missed the "Ghost Town" entirely and ended up walking along the river until we hit a road(about 5 miles). Then we turned around and came back. Lots of nice views of the river and beautiful forest. We saw 4 elk in a small group. A good time was had, but I don't know about the ghost town aspect.

So... I get to the parking lot and it's DUMPING rain. I'm determined to hike today, so I go for it. I'm quickly reminded that Mt Rose makes you earn every step; the switchback before the fork are never ending. About a 1/4 mile past the fork (I went left) I needed spikes. Luckily a hiker before me was wearing snowshoes and packed the trail down pretty good. I deviated from the trail at one point and sunk up to my crotch; the snow is fresh and deep. Anyhow, made it to the summit, but of course as I'm relishing in my victory, the snow and wind really kick up. I headed down and found some cover on a snowy look out, made some hot soup and took a power nap. Despite the elements, it was a great hike; I'll be back again.

This is an easy family friendly trail for year round use.

Quick day hike leaving from the visitor center parking lot. Trail was fine for a while but about half a mile in there were trees across the trail. Some were easy to go around, other places were more difficult. I would not recommend going until it has been cleaned up a bit.

OK trail. Great for being so close to home. The north side has more bridges and water crossings that make for great photo opportunities. The south side is a better workout. Not too many people on the trail during the week. Wet and muddy, but not bad considering the time of year. Trail between two bird viewing areas is closed. Looks like a mud slide took a footing of the bridge out. Hikers are creating their own detour.

We really enjoyed this trail. First hike of 2019 and we needed an easy trail to start out with. Great picture opportunity along the way.

Challenging but making it to the lookout is worth it. Rest of the trail is very pretty and well-maintained. Great for dogs.

This was my 2nd time coming here. I love it. I hated outmaneuver underneath the fallen logs from the storm not to long ago. If you have bad knees yes this will be awkwardly painful. Other than that at the ledge it was super windy and cold. Took my group of ladies about 3 hours to finish. The sunset was pretty <3

Went at 1:15pm. Very crowded in parts of the trail but was able to run some on the way up and down. Beautiful views! Worth every bit of traffic!

From 9 to 11 am there was one other person on trail. Very well kept. there's two rather large downed trees in the path, however they're highly easy to maneuver.

Not too strenuous and no views going up. Views at the three ledges aren’t as good as surrounding national parks.
