Great loop walk. Paths are well marked and generally in good shape. There were a few muddy areas but nothing bad. Very enjoyable!

The trail was good. My big disappointment was that a lot of it was beside the motorway and the constant sound of the traffic was really annoying.

Hiking

Took a different route following paved bog road from Sally Gap. After 2km it turns to bog. There isn’t much of a path, not after heavy rain yesterday. Very wet in places. Difficult in the conditions but still worth a go if looking for a different route.

HikingGreat!

Easy enough terrain, well marked out with lovely views and lots of additional trails through the forrest. Beautiful purple heather in flower in August.

A short enough, pleasant walk. Make sure to park in the correct car park otherwise you're walking on a road for about 1/1.5km

handy enough walk. Nice views over Dublin. Good for night hikes but have a decent head torch and spare batteries.

Quite good loop when extending it. Poor signage at times why the map is very helpful. Plenty of paths around to choose from. Very nice views of the waterfall. Did nearly ten km with kids aged 5, 6 and 8.

Walking

Well trodden path for suitable for almost all (including buggies and children) except the short upwards connection between the river and the upper paths which is very steep, is in reality off trail and requires scrambling. Don’t attempt unless you enjoy climbing! You can easily just follow the path and join the road later on. Woodland only, few clear views of the river.

Fantastic views however heavy rain the past day or two left the trail very muddy, trail also brings you through marshland close to the mast, fine with the right footwear.

The views are fantastic ! this route brings you from Glenmacnass to Kanturk to knocknacloghoge... over summits ,through forests and over rivers. Word of Caution , descending to the forest line from just past the Kanturk ridge & Ascending knocknacloghoge are treacherous. This has at parts no visible trail with heavy hip high vegetation which hide many rocky holes. You may spend most of your time watching the ground.
