This hike was absolutely gorgeous! But disclaimer: I was too chicken to finish the hike because a cow charged at me. That was scary af. I was getting so hyped because the drive up from the Bay Area was beautiful by itself. They're no entrance fee to enter into Point Reyes National Seashore and I arrived at the trailhead parking lot at about 8:30 AM on Saturday. There was only one other car in the parking lot and the parking lot was pretty big. I've never seen such interesting and beautiful wild flowers and plants on a trail like this before. I took so many pictures! I also saw multiple groups of quail, deer, a gopher, and tons of cows. Per my disclaimer, a cow kind of ran at me (I was trying to keep my distance, but maybe I was too close), but I threw my hands up, said "Whoa!", and it stopped. I don't know what that was about, but it scared me enough to turn back and cut the hike short. I'm sad I didn't get to the trail's end, but maybe I'll try again another time. It was windy and cold though so make sure to bring layers. And a lunch! There weren't really any obvious market stores close by. Overall, a beautiful hike along the water and through grassy cow pastures.

Great trail running around the outside of the reservoir. Fire roads. Lots of ups and downs to vary the terrain.

HikingGreat!

Lightly traveled except right at Castle Rock. Mostly on old logging trails, as such well defined and a moderate grade.

57 degrees but felt wonderful w t-shirt and layering. A trip for all ages. Clean restrooms and good folks, lots of Beach stop to eat your lunch or snack. 6.7 miles or do a half trip ~3.5 through the pace Lichen trail.

Skipped some of the loops due to closure of trails, but overall was a beautiful walk/hike! Lots of baby harbor seals with mommas right now, cormorants, trail lizards and gorgeous views!

HikingGreat!

We did ohlone trail mid week morning and it was gorgeous! Only saw two other hikers ( plus farmers working in the field as we were passing by). Views are magnificent. Path to Strawberry beach was beautiful and on the beach itself we were able to watch ( from the distance of course) some seals.

This is a lovely hike with lots of variety. We saw some open meadows, some waterfalls, some redwoods, and the start of some wildflowers. Plenty of parking at 8:30 on a Saturday, pretty full but not completely packed when we left at 12:30. We went clockwise to hit the falls first before the crowds, and it seems like it was a gentler grade going downhill and steeper uphill, which I prefer. AllTrails seems to have changed the route and the mileage within the last few weeks, but we did the original (ish) loop. Instead of hiking alongside the reservoir on Kent Trail once we hit the reservoir from the Cataract/Helen Mark trail, we turned right on the Kent Trail and made our way back on Kent Trail and Lagoon Fire Road to make an 8.8 mile loop instead of the full 11.6. This is the other reason we chose to go clockwise, so we could bail out and do a shorter loop rather than starting counterclockwise and going the full 11.6, and I would recommend doing it this way, since I predict the falls get pretty crowded later in the day.

One of the best hikes we’ve ever done! Lost the trail a few times but easily got back on - just make sure to download the trail before you lose service.

Overall, great hike. Started on the Sunset trail to avoid traffic at the beginning of the Lakeside and Rim trails. Detoured a bit down to the Lakeside trail before heading back up to the rim trail. Not much shade so be prepared for that. Some gravely areas made it a bit tricky up and down but still doable. Lots of dips and inclines so you will certainly get a work out in.

Amazing hike! 6+ miles. Kid friendly. Long enough to be a workout, but easy enough for the kids as long as they have plenty of snacks. Finding parking was a little challenging on a Saturday morning, but we found a spot. Tons of parking spots on PCH. Color of the water is absolutely breathtaking!!! Second time doing this hike and I can’t wait to hike it again. Plenty of restrooms throughout the hike. Well marked.

Great Hike! The shortcut is marked the a rock arrow on the ground. Lots of poison oak right now so beware- also if you go in that way be prepared fir a steep ascent and loose rocks- it’s worth it to see the upper falls though! Lots of green right now and beautiful flowers! Must see!
