want to go Map

Both trails are extremely maintained, very tourist driven and heavily trafficked (for good reasons, the gorge is amazing)
You pay $8 to park
The gorge trail has lots of stairs so I found it better to start the loop by hiking up the Indian trail, and take the gorge trail back down so you aren’t climbing stairs the whole way up.
Plus, there are more rewarding views on the gorge trail, so save the best for last.

Rained pretty steady for several hours yesterday and drove in from Cleveland to get to it. Great flow. Easy hike that you won't break a sweat on.

Always a nice hike, 3.8mi if you hike back on the road while the rest of the party hikes to the store for ice cream :)

Great hike! Easily one of our top favorites in CVNP. A must see!!

Amazing place every corner turn was awe inspiring. Lots of foot traffic with great reason because of the amazing views! Although there were lots of people, even on a misty day it didn’t take away from the experience. Lots of stairs, so if your traveling with younger children this could be a challenge for them. It’s a short hike but the steps and incline makes it feel like it’s a longer hike it maybe a bit of a challenge but totally doable. I’m so glad I finally got to go here it’s an amazing place to see! Totally recommended.

Absolutely breathtaking. Will go again

Very crowded and but great views and a good hike. Lots of picturesque spots

Great trail. Only takes about 25 minutes. Trails are marked. ONE SQUARE = STRAIGHT. TWO SQUARES= what ever side the top square is, that’s the way the trail goes. (Left top square, go left, right top square go right) 3 SQUARES= either way

Fun trail! Very confusing to get to the falls but hike back was super easy! You do cross the creek and can be slippery, highly recommend waterproof hiking boots with great traction.

I enjoyed this route. we ended up hiking down the stream most of the way and made this a loop by finding a rdige trail that met up with the buckeye trail to get back to blue hen. was a lovely hike.

Easy hike! Great for an afternoon away!

Love this trail, made it to the buttermilk falls off the trail.

if u go off trail there is another waterfall

Go beyond the end of trail sign and check out buttermilk falls... The trail isn't hard but it's full of roots and several stream crossing but easy to find your way. So much fun and the dogs love it because they have to think as well. Worth the adventure

The gorge is beautiful but the hike itself is a tourist trap. You don’t feel like you’re escaping in nature but just part of another tourist attraction.

Highly recommend this trail. Walked further than the 2.1 miles. Other trails to explore beyond this. Best this time of year. First day of fall!

nice but busy. and very easy.

Fantastic trail for both a hike and bouldering!

waterfall dried up :(

Nice 2 hour ish hike around the loop, there are a ton of trails connecting each other and it gets confusing because some of the yellow markings take you off the more worn paths which make it easy to miss. The trail is marked with different names, glad I took gps to double check route. Now to find out where all these other trails go....

Gorgeous views and great climb down, be prepared or climb back up. Have went previously and water was flowing steadily. Flame is brightly lit. Great photo op. Magical place will go again for sure!

River Trail and Boulder Trail are a must see! So is Whirlpool Trail leading through rocks. Be prepared for solid climbing but also amazing views you've never seen before.

Absolutely beautiful. Definitely more touristy then I thought but surprisingly didn’t effect my experience. We took a ton of great pictures

Beautiful trail but waterfall has dried up

The gorge and 3 waterfalls are spectacular features of this trail. The trail however is often too close to the main park road and not well marked especially in those spots where you need guidance.

no water flowing on the falls the day I was there, but still breath taking views. definitely going back after a good rainfall to see water going down the falls. flame was burning real good

Very nice hike! It is like a scene from Lord of the Rings.

Worth the trip! The trails could be marked better, but it was so beautiful we didn't mind.

Gorge trail is a gorgeous one and must do!
