37” tires 5”lift
sliders. Used it all That trail doesn’t disappoint hard-core

This is a beautiful trail . Have been running it since the late 70s . Three times this year , most recently with my Daughter. It changes each year, some years worse than others. if your rig is sound you can do it in a day . But it should be done in a minimum of 4 days to really enjoy the area . Should plan on staying at buck for 2 days , hike the waterfall for a beautiful reward.

Great drive

The last 9.5 miles of the road is in the Glen Canyon Recreations Area and roads are rougher. Recommend a 4 wheel drive or high clearance vehicle for the last 10 miles. About 4 miles from the Hole in the Rock (HITR) you can find a 1957 plaque recognizing the San Juan mission of the Mormons. Ir can be found on the north face of the rock near the drilling site and equipment. ~5 miles from HITR you will find the Reflection Canyon TH. Given this is a BLM land managed area of the park system, there is little development and signage, but lots of wilderness areas and side hikes including slot canyons and arches. Recommend anyone visiting this area to invest in the National Geographic Trails Illustrated topographic map "Canyons of the Escalante" map 710. High ranking for the history, sheer number of hikes, and variety in landscapes.

Scenic driving. Not an Offroad trail. Pretty though.

You cannot do this trail in a stock jeep without lots of careful wheel placement, lockers, rock stacking and even then there are large portions of the trail that a stock JK or JL couldn’t do with out body damage or mechanical damage. It’s a super cool trail with lots of traffic during events. With heavy traffic it can easily take you 8hrs to drive from loon lake to rubicon springs and back.

Awesome drive

Road is easy but the washboard condition make it not worth it. Just beats you to death!

Difficult and demanding trail.

This was a bucket list trail for me. I went with Modern Jeeper Adventures (Metalcloak) and Jeepers Jamboree. It was an amazing experience. Rock rails and skid plates are a must. THey will be used.

over the years it's got a little easier, there's still points that are challenging even with more advance drivers and built rigs. 33" tires can do the trail with a good spotter 35" tires and a locker would be advisable. great trail AMAZING views.

Spectacular! One of my all time favorites, challenging, fun, breath taking and a great experience....glad I accomplished can’t wait to go back!

This was listed as a moderate trail. The sign we encountered at the trail head gave warnings of the high level of difficulty. We made it maybe a 1/2 mile. Not sure why the disconnect

Amazing

I have ridden my horse on the trail. No problem and a whole lot faster than driving.

Road was very rough and unclear in my opinion about specific whereabouts of trails and what not. Pretty great scenery and hikes along the way though.

Absolutely one of the worst roads I have ever been on. Plan on going either under 10 mph, or over 45 mph if your daring (this allows you to skim over the small bumps in the road). Pathetic road conditions.Giving three stars because of the incredible scenery and hikes along the way. Would give less.

If you're in a rental, enjoy the drive! If you're in your own car, it will probably never be the same again unless you're careful.

We, Rawbanannie, started our adventure midday in Colorado Springs. We took Hwy 24 to Hwy 67 in Divide and drove to Cripple Creek. In Cripple Creek we found our way to Shelf Road. From there we experienced a wonderful and beautiful ride through the canyon all the way to Canyon City. Our usual late lunch stop in Canyon is The Owl Cigar Bar. They have hamburgers and beer only. Problem with today is they are closed on Sunday. We made a phone call to an ex Canyon City dweller and were directed to get on Hwy 115 out of Canyon City towards Florence. There is a place called Steele Smokin' BBQ Restaurant and Bar. Mostly Restaurant. They make the best Hamburger I have had in a long time. Beer was from Colorado Springs. We left Colorado Springs around 11:30 am and returned home by 4:00 pm. Check the pictures out. They tell the story.

Hi all, I know this isn't strictly mountain chat. However, we were camping in Holy Cross City last night, right outside the Holy Cross Wilderness border. Around 830/9pm our puppy Kiera bolted when she heard a coyote very near. We have not heard or seen her since. She is a 9 month old retriever/border collie with a white patch on her chest. When she ran, she was wearing this pack. She has a collar with our numbers on it and she responds to her name, so if any of you are in that area this weekend, please keep an eye out for her. Thank you very much.

Really easy trail, road was washed out on the shoulders from the rains a few places. Beware of cars flying around the corners, they didn't like meeting my Superduty.
