Hiking

Can go to the lip of the falls if you want, though probably not smart. It's also possible to get to the bottom of the falls if you backtrack a bit from the upper viewpoints, getting down isn't that much harder than the rest of the trail, the path I took had just one slightly tricky spot right as you leave the rock and get onto the dirt trail to the falls. The area at the bottom of the falls is swampy and I'd imagine the bugs would not be pleasant in the warmer months, late March there were a few flies but not too bad. More challenging trail and not as nice as the Lower Falls but still quite nice and a decent chance to have the bottom of the falls to yourself I think.

HikingClosed

The road was closed. Even though it was clear and not snowy, so we were not expecting that. We will come back to hike when the road is open. (The sign said it’s closed till May 15th)

Hiking

Beautiful day. Icier in some spots, but the parts that get sun are fairly stable. Beware dive-bombing, yet oddly friendly chickadees

This is an absolutely beautiful trail to do on a Monday morning. I saw maybe 5 other people. Most of the time I was completely alone, and there wasn’t a single other sound. The snow was completely iced over so spikes were necessary the whole way. Great workout — took about 4 hours total.

HikingGreat!Rocky

fantastic! a hidden gem right across from Bridal's Veil. It's steep and rocky which I loved. When arriving at waterfall there are a couple more smaller ones just above on the right side. if you do that it is expected to do some rock surfing when coming down from them, being careful it us fun!

You’re gonna need spikes! Me and my friend hiked it without spikes and struggled quite a bit up to the top. A hiking pole will help if you have it. It was quite the workout hiking through lots of snow! We enjoyed a nice hot meal at the top and took a nap in hammocks. Definitely would recommend!

Beautiful trail and a lot of fun! As others have mentioned about the last half mile is a little icy. I was glad to have spikes.

The biggest heads up is that the road is closed 1.5 miles before the trailhead until May 15th (according to the sign on the gate)! We parked at the gate and headed up the road by foot. It was a nice walk up through the canyon. The trail itself was either mud or snow as we hiked along. Very slippery at some points. Our kids were able to navigate it with only a couple slips, except for our four year old who had to be carried through many sections of the trail. The waterfall and grotto area is very cool. We plan to come back when the trail dries out more.

loved the vary in terrain and the option to either walk up to the falls or climb up some trees roots to get there. Also, you can follow a smaller trail off to the left next to the falls. it will snake you around to a small waterfall named Mistress Falls for whatever reason. Watch your footing if you proceed.

Super tough trail! Steep incline and pretty icy/slushy towards the latter half. Had spikes though and was fine. Saw some people sliding and falling. Be careful! And don’t miss the trail to the falls. There’s just a cedar post where you turn left after going up a steep part covered with ice. Sign must’ve been ripped off or something. Enjoy!

(4/9/21) upper 1/4 of the trail to the waterfall is still icy/slushie. Just for grins take you micro spikes in your sling bag. I toughed it out with a pair of Merrels and grabbing scrub on the way down. But it was dicey. This is a good little hike. The first third is quite busy as it also leads to a small lake that many people frequent. Once you get past that then the trail is less busy. There are several points where you get to enjoy walking near or crossing the stream flowing down the mountain. The canyon is very scenic and the waterfall is cool. Although, the volume of water is not very big and I think barely qualifies as a waterfall. But scenic nonetheless.
