Thank you to the previous hikers who posted about where to park! Parts of the trail were washed out- but the scenery is well worth the walk! Bring bug spray! What a gem

Beautiful park!

I don't know why everyone keeps posting here that you cannot park on Marion Avenue...you most certainly can!
The 'trailhead' consists of the about 10 feet of dirt area at the front up to the large boulder - not the whole street.
As long as you don't block driveways, feel free to park on Marion Ave...the police have already said it's a city street and parking is allowed.
Residents park on the street all the time.

Absolutely awesome trail! We took Bemis Trail and rejoined the Arethusa Falls trail, but came back down Arethusa and I highly recommend this route. After seeing the two smaller waterfalls on Bemis and heading up, it is a very steep climb, but we successfully completed it with a 4, 8, and 9 year old. It was challenging for someone a tad out of shape, but well worth it. As others have stated, I think coming down Bemis would need to be slow going.

Really beautiful walk in the woods. The waterfalls are worth a 100 pictures. Great lunch spot. We are blessed to have such beauty close to home!

Awesome place to explore! While there is not much hiking, there is a lot of natural beauty, and cool tidbits of info along the paths. There is something for everyone there :)

Does anyone know if the road to the trailhead is open?
Thank you

Quick hike with a couple of steep areas. Nice to do with kids. The views are very nice at the top and there’s a marker that shows you the surrounding mountains which was nice since I’m not from the area.

Small hike to the waterfalls along a beautiful creek. Since it was raining till morning it’s a bit muddy but the weather added beauty to the views. Easy hike for kids. Loved the falls. You can walk all the way to the falls.

Great little hike and nice spots for picnics on the pond. Only heard the call of the loons. Meditative.

Great trail for a quick hike! Three females in our late 20s - we found the moderate rating accurate considering some parts of this trail are very steep but very manageable for us three. We are all in decent shape and had to stop twice to sip some water and catch our breath after the steep sections. There is the Bemis trail that rejoins the Arethusa Falls trail - Bemis was much steeper than Arethusa and it also included a section where you have to climb up tree roots about ~15 feet. I would NOT recommend going DOWN Bemis. (We hiked up Bemis and down Arethusa). It took 1 hour to get to Arethusa Falls including our stops. We also stopped for a minute or so at two different smaller falls that were just as beautiful as the large waterfall. We ate lunch by the large falls and spent about 20 minutes there. It was fairly crowded at Arethusa Falls with all the hikers basking in this natural beauty. This was on a Wednesday the first week of August. About 40 minutes back down to the trail head, so about 2 hours total including lunch. Will be hiking here again!

This trail was a bit difficult to find. GPS will take you to a dead end residential neighborhood where you cannot park. We parked at ymca and backtracked to trailhead on foot. Walking through a private neighborhood seemed odd but worth it when we found a fairy village living in a tree :) must be some creative people in that neighborhood. The trail was pretty short but super fun. The last part trying to get to the falls was a bit steep and muddy but so very worth it. There’s tons of bugs because you’re surrounded by water so bring bug spray. The waterfall was completely accessible we stood under the falls and enjoyed looking at the thin shiny rocks. This trail is definitely one of my favorites.

We took the Bremis trail going up and we totally enjoyed the 3 smaller Falls on the way. But we were unprepared for the steep hike up to join the Arethusa Falls trail and the long way still to go to get to the Falls. As older hikers and photographers, we took our time and were rewarded with the most awesome of waterfalls. Well worth the aches and pains. FYI- Sat morning- to afternoon, the Falls / trail were extremely crowded with kids dogs etc., maybe because it was the first sunny day in a long time.

In my opinion a great short hike for an amazing view of great mountains is worth it. Along the way you can just experience nature and beautiful trees and plants. Oh and bring your dog if you have one.

Super short hike but the views on three sides were great. Trees blocked the other. Nice spot to go up and read a book. Dog enjoyed climbing the rocks.

Loved this hike. Very remote. Off the beaten path. Hiked it just after it rained so some spots were slippery but overall really enjoyed. Not too difficult

A great walk through the woods to a terrific waterfall. There was a bit of foot traffic, but nothing to dampen the enjoyment (and everyone was very friendly). Finding the trailhead was definitely easier thanks to the advice from Sarah Coelho (it is not well marked at the YMCA).

Great hike, but definitely a moderate rating. Very busy at mid-day Saturday. I took the Bemis Brook "Yellow" trail going in, and the folks behind me were similarly mistaken: we both thought it was easiest for dogs. There is a decent rock-scramble that will kick your butt. I would say I'm on the slower side and took us round trip about 3-4 hours that's with stopping once on the way up to feed a baby, and a good rest at the falls. Well worth it, absolutely stunning falls. I cant wait to go back in the fall. I did see small children doing this trail, and they were doing a lot better than me!

Super short hike right behind the Dollar General. The trail isn't very well marked, but just walk towards the small bald and you'll be able to get to the top. Did this hike in the rain and expected it to be much more slippery than it was, so that's a plus! The sculpture at the top is very cool, as were the views-- definitely worth the 10 minutes it takes to walk up to the top.

nice easy hike, do it semi-often. Did it alone in an hour and 45 up recently. halfway down heard what I can only describe as two monkeys calling to each other...

Took the blue trail up to the falls and the yellow trail back. The waterfalls were wonderful. However this is not an easy to do trail. Very steep in areas and the trails go up the whole time. Great trail if you really take your time and bring water, some people did not have water. The yellow trail was like climbing down a cliff. Water was very cold but felt so good on sore muscles. This one totally kicked my butt.

Trail wasn’t marked very well. But the view from the top was worth it

Beautiful view at the top. An easy morning hike to start the day. My dog managed on leash very well.

Hiked this trail many times during my childhood and it was the perfect challenge for my 11-year-old daughter and me to hike together. On a clear summer day, the views are amazing. The lodge has a great menu too.

Loved this park. Awesome park ranger to five a tour for free with some history included. Worth the time to take the tour. Amazing view lf the old quarry, it's truly unbelievable!

Nice quick hike. Busy. Some trail work on bridges - there is a make-shift bridge right past the one that is being reset. Lot of people out there without water - which amazes me because it is still a hike and mainly uphill on the way to the falls. The falls are a great surprise at the end.

Steady but moderate incline trail with a few steeper sections. Rocky, but well maintained. Worth the views and the trip up the war memorial tower at the summit.

Great hike to beautiful falls! Trails are pretty rocky but clearly marked. Very crowded on a Saturday. Bemis trail has a very steep section, but multiple very nice falls to stop and swim or picnic. Overall beautiful hike! Took about 2 hours in and out with pretty active group taking breaks / crowded trail.

It’s to easy I do it to much

Tough, rocky, fairly well maintained.
Not too buggy, mostly shady.
Worth the walk for the falls.
Crowded on weekends with good weather.
Water is quite cold!
Bring a towel and a lunch!
