We hiked the trail on August 15th. We found the trail to be very well marked and moderately busy. The trail is wide and accommodates traffic in both directions. We didn't notice any horses on trail or any evidence that they had been on the trail recently. The falls are beautiful and make for some nice pictures of our trip to share with others.

the view at the top is well worth the hike

Trail is a steep incline but the relatively short distance to walk for a great view make this a great trail

Tons of falls and trail. A nice 6.5 in out. Great woodland views. Water all along the mileage.

My husband and I did this trail on July 1 early in the morning and it was phenomenal. It had rained the week before, so the multiple falls had a nice flow. You travel along the river the whole time, with multiple chances to get down to the water, which is great on a hot day to cool off. The trail was slightly rocky and a bit steep, but nothing terribly challenging. If you’re lookin to add a bit more distance, you can keep walking along the river on the Rose River Loop Trail. Great short, photogenic hike!

Not as easy as some state. I am 29 and in good shape but saw many trying the trail and turning around. its not ling but the climb in elecation is fairly quick. It is 100% worth it if you can make it up!

Easy hike going down. Pretty steep coming up.

Nice hike. Not as hard as I thought, it's a pretty gentle slope. Great views from the top!

After heading down the trail (which, due to being a bit steep at times, was a little rough on the knees ... but otherwise enjoyable) we took time to sit and listen to the cascading waterfall at the bottom of the trail. (Along with about a billion other people ... okay, not really that many, but when you're trying to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature ... it kinda looked and sounded like it.

My Wolfpack and I conquered this trail... The river runs down beside the trail the entire way to the waterfall, are you strong enough to join my Wolfpack?

we visited with old aged parents. was a bit nervous but it was easy. There were many chairs on the way for people to relax. This is as easy as it can be.

In every season this trail is absolutely stunning. I enjoy this trail the most during Autumn season.

I went through on a Monday morning around 6:30 am. No one around until I was on my way out. Nice loop. Beautiful scenery and sounds of the falls.

very easy trail. nice filler. good for beginners. has an offshoot to other trails.

well traveled hike. a lot of foot traffic. easy down. moderate up.

This is such a beautiful hike. Its fun going down it and it only takes like 15-20mins but once you’re ready to head back up its a bit of a climb. However it is really beautiful. The water fall goes all the way to the bottom right before the Rose River trail starts. Its a must see.

The hike up is short but if wet (as it was for us) it would be slippery coming back down. We elected to take the alternate route back. It is worth the detour. Beautiful hike in the woods crisscrossing several streams. The view from humpback is awesome! It was a bit crowded but nothing unusual for other good hikes in August.

Great hike for young children. Trail is strenuous but short. Great view at the top.

Very easy walking trail. It is flat with a gravel path and benches. We saw deer out here and we were able to get some great photos. You can connect to the Cresent Rock Trail from here. Cresent Rock is a 1.1 mike uphill climb which will take you to Skyline Drive. Cross the road to reach the Cresent Rock Overlook parking area and see the view.

The falls are lovely but this is a highly trafficked trail and many people go down this trail to see the falls and struggle hard to get back up. It won’t be a problem If you’re in good shape/hike a lot and it is definitely worth seeing. If you are taking small children, older family members or injured hikers with you, consider going to the lower falls via the horse trail. It is much easier with a pretty flat trail in and out. The lower falls are quite as spectacular but still pretty and much easier to access.

Very popular trail. Pretty short, I did it in an hour and a half. Good for beginners in good health. The water was very pretty all the way down and there was even a small pool of water at the bottom that you could swim in. Long drive to get to the trail head but there are several other trails to fill in the rest of your day.

The views from the top are really nice. An easy trail as well. I wasn't a fan of the trail leading up though. There were a lot of gravel sections, which aren't a favorite to hike on. A few falls from loose rocks on the way down.

Nice trail. It was the only trail we hiked with a packed parking lot. We did this trail after a morning on Marys Rock. The view of the falls from the bottom is really nice (with people everywhere). The trek back up was fine, even after a fall from the day before.

Did the full loop on the AT, it's about 6.5miles. Went clockwise to get the AT finished first. Went after a few days of rain so all the falls we're beautiful. You do have to cross some steams and wet areas, best to wear good traction shoes.

The trail is more gradual than the lower hawksbill and a really enjoyable hike. Walk through the woods was awesome and so peaceful, then getting to the summit was amazing. I'm not in great shape so it took me an hour to get to the summit and 40 minuets to come back down.

Perfect hike for anyone looking to take in some beautiful scenery, diverse landscape and breathtaking views from the top!

Beautiful hike, good workout on the way back up!
