Amazing view at Summitt

it was rainy so had no view at the top, but the woods were absolutely beautiful to hike through. I would definitely do this one again.

Nice river walk, payoff is nice with a closed in pond and waterfall

What a nice place to hike. I was surprised by the abundance of different mushrooms in that forest. They grow in many colors and different sizes.
Luckily we used bug repellent so the mosquitoes didn't bother us too much.

Great walking trail.

Buggy way to buddy

Nice hike. Some erosion damage on the trail and some jerk flattened the cairn at the top. Cairn fixed and hope the jerk that took it apart gets poison ivy in some horrible places. The views were awe inspiring and could not have been better weather! Our kids handled it without issue.

the trail has potential but I have attempted this trail 2 times now and both times it was very muddy and the trail was washed out and I had no choice but to turn back. The trail is mostly at flood level and there are multiple spots of large puddles that you have to attempt to navigate around. plenty of

From Tripoli Road to Osceola Summit and back to Tripoli Rd. Parking lot. Started early at 7 am and were back at the car just before noon. Great hike. Like others have said watch footing because there are many rocks in the first half of the hike up. The rest of the way was slick wet rock. Awesome view at the top. Highly recommend for anyone looking for another crazy but still fun. Good for family hike.

A pleasant hike. Previous reviews are correct, rocky terrain early on, and great views of the lakes near the summit. Recent rains made the early trail section muddy and buggy, but not enough to be a consideration.

I did from the Tripoli road out to East Osceola and back. I’m almost halfway with my NH 48, and would say this was (sorry for some) one of my easier hikes. Out to Osceola itself was pretty tame, although not fast. You have to pick your way among the rocks for footing. East Osceola was a fun trek, with some steeper sections including the chimney. There were some muddy pieces, but nothing you can’t pick through. I have a short steady stride, but still made it in about 5.5 hours total. Views were nice, but I hike for the work out. Not bad for a 4000 footer!

Omg the views are gorgeous but this trail is very hard. I’m never doing this trail again. Loved it but hated it

Good hike, some really good views along the way. The trails are very poorly blazed and found myself having to refer to my GPS very often which was annoying. Italian Trail would be the easier route up if you plan on doing this as a loop. I went up Italian Trail and took Shaw mountain trail down. Overall it was 7.3 miles and a very good workout.

One of my favorite hikes in the area. Great views! The ascent to south baldface has lots of ledges, I personally would not attempt it in wet weather. We took our time and went for a swim and it took us about 7 hours

Trail is clearly used mostly for dirt bikes. I don’t think there was a single vehicle without a trailer for towing and a bike/ATV. Smell of gasoline hung heavy in the air. I’m sure it’s great for taking motorized vehicles out on the trail but did not seem friendly to hikers.

Amazing view, even on the second time around! Took the other side up the mountain this time, got to see the Falls, and encountered some wildlife...

Great hike with great views! And it was awesome to dive into the emerald pool at the end of the hike!

I did a run around the ring trail, goose foot, cedar trail, vulture’s view, back to ring trail. The trails are in good shape and I got a nice workout.

Beautiful forest! BUT! Who ever rated this as easy has to rethink their standards. This is a fairly short but intense hike. 75% is steep. I had my son in a pack and am a moderately healthy and fit 45 year old man. I was able to power through without a serious break but it was definitely demanding. I would rate this as a moderate hike with some fairly challenging sections. Not for novice hikers looking for a quick jaunt. Bring water and a carb snack. Too bad fire tower is locked. Incredible views from top of tower. I’d do it again.

Had a scary moose encounter before sunrise that made us have to turnaround and walk back to the car, luckily we had just started. Once we waited about 10min we restarted and no further encounters. Hike was ok, going up the North Slide and down the South Slide was a good call. Both suck in their own unique way and we were thankful to have dry conditions. I would not want to do either after or during any rain. It is just frustrating because a lot of it is loose gravel and shocking to see some of these huge rocks be equally unreliable. Not the worse hike but glad to have crossed them off.

This trail is relentless. False summit almost got me, quit a steep decline after that but kicks back up when you get close to the top. The view was limited but from what you can see boy it’s beautiful. I really enjoyed the hike, it’s as foresty as it gets. Smells like a Christmas tree the whole way. They say this is easy but I didn’t find it easy, I found it quite steep and strenuous. Left at 6:45am landed back at my car at 12:20.

Nice early morning hike to the top and some great views.

Good hike. Pretty difficult to start. Steep - climbing almost 2,000 feet within a mile, but in a stair-master kind of way. The river and waterfalls are along side you this whole time, so it's not too bad.

Afterwards, you're trekking in the trees with sporadic views, up until the last 500 ft of the hike where you get a nice 360.

Careful going down. Expect it to take you about the same amount of time as going up.

great hike, waterfalls where really nice. We had recently got rain so they had a nice amount of water. Varied terrain, ups, downs, rocks and roots.

Great hike with my 7 year old. Just enough challenge and beautiful views from the top.

There are beautiful views of the waterfalls on this trail. The rocks and stairs do get extremely slippery so I would recommend bringing hiking poles to help keep your balance. I don't normally hike with poles but figured I might need them on this trail and I don't think I would've made it down in one piece without them. Going down does take much longer than going up so make sure you factor that into your hike time. Overall it's a great challenging hike to a gorgeous summit.

The scrambles up and down are a lot of fun but pretty strenuous! The views are gorgeous while hiking the slides but the top provides limited views. After the long flat section in the beginning the trail is slightly overgrown before hitting the slide - be aware, I got some poison ivy likely from this hike. :)

The hike itself is quite lovely, but you'll definitely want to go a little bit past the summit in order to get any views. Keep following the trail past the summit, hang a left at the split, and you'll find some lovely views of the lake within a quarter of a mile.

The road getting there is definitely rough, but, as long as you have an all-wheel-drive vehicle, you should be fine. To get back, I really recommend retracing your steps onto Sandwich Notch Rd/Dale Rd, instead of following the road all the way to Lincoln Rd. I made that mistake and I won't soon repeat it.

I went last week and it was great! nice little view!
