Great views of mountains and city, did not expect that being right in the middle of the city setting.
It was nice to get a quick/challenging hike in, then go to lunch, then get grocery shopping done all in one trip!

We hiked this in the snow today and the compacted snow trail was easy to follow. Great views all the way around and the elevation changes added some challenge. The herd of deer was fun to see.

amazing winter hike. snow was loosely packed, not icy. I hiked in just boots with good grip. get out here when the snow is fresh, it's stunning!

Excellent hike!

1/10/19 The Rim Rock section was dry and easy to navigate. Creek bottom has lots of muddy spots and black ice. I took trekking poles and my heavy duty hiking boots and still fell. Be careful coming down the stairs near the dam. They have black ice with a dusting of dirt. I fell down several on the way down.
Saw lots of deer and turkeys on the rim rock trail. It was a pretty hike just beware of the icy spots and mud on the creek bottom side.

Hiked this trail 4 days ago. It was icy with light snow coverage. I used micros which helped a great deal. The frozen waterfall was beautiful!! A great winter hike. I look forward to doing this hike in the spring.

Nice hike! Pretty scenery.

Went on a late morning hike here, setting out around 11am. Trail was mostly clear with a few sections of packed, slippery ice where micro spikes came in handy. Beautiful views all around the loop st the top, with plenty of spots to sit, rest, and enjoy the view. All around a pleasant, family-friendly hike, great for all ages and levels.

Great easy hike with our 6 year old. A bit of ice, snow, and mud in areas but not bad at all for January! The weather was in the 50’s and we wore short sleeve in the sun on top of the rim and winter jackets below in the inner rim in the shade. This hike must be absolutely gorgeous in the warmer months and we will definitely do it again!

Lots of horse poop but a nice hike for the kids to walk.

If you can get off the beaten path in this area of Rocky, this is pretty close. Join up with hikes to other lakes and make a day of it. Beautiful!

Easy hike near Denver. Falls aren't awesome. Worth a trip to get some Vitamin N.

Moderate is right. Excellent hike.
Beautiful covered shaded sections. Dec 30 the trails were clear but snow. Sunny skies. Happy Dogs all along trail.

The trail had patches of snow so we were glad we wore proper hiking shoes. This trail is gorgeous! AllTrails rates it moderate but I’d say it’s in between easy and slightly moderate. We will definitely be hiking this trail multiple times next year. There are many lookout points with picnic tables in tucked away places and near the edge and offers amazing views. We plan on coming back when the weather is warmer and having a picnic. There was no ice today because it got up to 50 degrees and it wasn’t windy. 12/30/18

Beautiful trail, but it’s really easy to miss the falls. Look for the sign!

Light snow on trail, very quiet, the ice of the falls had a blue hue. Great short hike through tall pines sprinkled with snow.

Hiked on Christmas Day and maybe encountered a dozen other people total. The hike is simply beautiful and challenging enough to make me feel really satisfied! The trail is very icy (dirt covered) in many places but other than that, it was clear. The falls were incredible and I’d recommend the hike!

Super easy hike and we would give it five stars but all the horse sh*t on the entire trail was a little rough. Why are dog owners expected to clean up after their dogs but horses can open up the poop chute whenever and their owners can disregard it? It’s poop, people. If it comes out of a butthole, I don’t want to step in it...I don’t care what the animal ate.

Anyway! Great Christmas Day hike! We will be back!

Good hike, on the shorter side but still a good workout on the way up. Nice views. Went 12/23, some snow but not too much. Lake was completely frozen over which was pretty cool.

I wish I had brought my micros so I could walk up the frozen river/streams but wouldn’t have needed them for the trail today.

Great run from Cabelas into Bluffs on the East West Regional. Some tough hills no matter which direction you choose. Good views and plenty of wildlife in the morning.

Nice trails. Easy walk with lovely views. Lots of folks on horses but no bikes which is great we did a 6 mile loop

Frozen waterfall was cool.. A couple slick spots but didn't need yakkies today. Would be interested to see this in spring. No big vistas.

Did the big loop, climbed on rocks and in trees. Parts of trail were muddy and slushy, but overall beautiful and a ton of fun.

If you’re going to go off the beaten path like we did, keep an eye out for cacti

I didn’t manage to include the overlook/old mill back side to this hike, but I did loop over to Chimney Rock and down to Elk Falls. With that short loop, it still came out to 11.5 miles in total. This one is not a particularly difficult hike in terms of elevation, but the distance definitely adds up. With that being said, this is one of my favorites within Staunton state park. All of the trails are well marked and well maintained, and I always encounter lots of deer along the way.

Nice hike, we took the stairs up and it was a good incline up. Great views from the top. Short hike!

Love this trail. A good steady incline up, beautiful buttery downhill to a nice creek flow off of the falls. Beautiful in winter, can’t wait to head back in the spring.
