I take parts of this trail daily it’s easy & pretty. Ive spotted lots of deer, shore birds, whales and bald eagles depending on the season.

I love how the hike is short, and intense. The view was breathtaking but the bugs were out there and WILD. The majority of the view was covered with smoke from the wild fire but it was still beautiful. I love how for this trial you get 360 view all around you.

Trail was in perfect condition, pretty busy from 1-3pm. Lots of families and dogs. A few more flies than anticipated but a wonderful day hike!

Tough hike but worth the effort.

8/6/18
Hiked windy ridge to abraham flats (this trail is very narrow for the most part on slippery sand and on a ridge. Watch your footing. The stairs were the scariest part for me going both up and down, they are really steep and slippery...the sand will just fall from under your feet. pretty trail with a lot of interesting bugs I've never seen before and the grass hoppers are super loud here! couple of steep parts when your crossing dry creeks in the hills before you get to the plains.) to loowit trail (I thought I could get to the falls this way instead of having to go back down abraham trail, but it was a no go... the loowit trail is basically non existant when you get to the last lava field at the base of the mountain. I could see trail markers at every lava field except the last one. I attempted what i thought was the trail from the se side and feared I would get hurt, so I scrambled back down. I would not recommend doing the loop. I then backtracked. this trail connects with june lake and ape canyon. Make sure your wearing good gripping hiking boots or shoes. the sand is very slick and this trail can have some really steep parts. Started this hike at 6am and saw no one else on the trail till my descent back down around 10am and they were on the windy ridge trail.

Beautiful views and falls. Well marked and paved. Was bummed the trail was closed at the bridge. Still worth seeing the falls. Parking was a breeze because we went early.

Beautiful falls and lush green forest. A short and easy two miles, but definitely worth doing! More people than I would like to have around. Hike early to get a parking spot and less peope traffic.

Moderate, but on the lighter side. On a good day you can see Rainier, St Adams & Mt Hood at the same time if you take the short trail extension at the top,

Very easy but nice trail to hike. I enjoyed this one very much. It has a little bit of everything here. I will go back in the winter to check out the higher water levels.

Love Beacon Rock, it’s in our “backyard” and we grew up hiking it many times. We took our kids for the first time last week. It’s straight up via switch backs all the way up, but there are many viewing points where you could stop for a rest. (Our five year old complained quite a bit and wanted frequent rests). The top viewing area is very small, not many people will fit together up there. But it’s worth the hike for the view! And the downhill is fairly easy. Love that there are restrooms at the trailhead. You will need a Discover Pass to park here.

The trail is in good shape. Starting off from the parking area you have beautiful views of Mt. St. Helens for a short stretch, then you’re in the trees for a good three and a half miles before it opens up near the timberline. The last mile to the Loo Wit Trail is much more of an incline than the first three miles, so be prepared for a more strenuous finish. About a quarter mile from the intersection with Loo Wit the trail hooks sharply to the right, but if you’re not paying attention you can easily continue up a dry creek bed and lose the trail. If you’re ever hiking in the creek bed, you’re off trail. Other than that, the views on top are spectacular, even with all the smoke still in the air. Have fun!

Such a good trail! Definitely expect to be climbing, lots of switchbacks, but it’s well maintained and the view was stunning at the top. Stopped by a small picnic table on the way back down to give my pup a short rest and eat a snack. Very dog friendly but i’d recommend your dog be in pretty good shape because it’s all straight uphill with almost no flat spaces to recover on.

Beautiful hike all the way up. Definitely tough with the quick elevation but the views make it totally worth it. Bugs are an awful but as long as you’re moving they aren’t too bad. Very seep ledge and no flat surfaces at the top, I would not feel comfortable bringing younger children. I saw some people in flip flops walking up and that is just a disaster waiting to happen.

The falls are beautiful. The hike was easy but not a lot to see along the way which made it more difficult in my mind. Would probably hike from PCT if I were to go to Ramona again.

Many options in the arboretum trail system and connects to the Wildwood Trail for many miles of hiking. Best in spring for flowers, but then can be muddy. Fall colors also can be spectacular. Parking can be a problem on a nice day.

Lovely place. The view was so worth it, would highly recommend hiking here!

Our family of 4 completed this hike today and loved it (about 3.5 hours including a 20 min lunch). It wasn't very difficult, very pretty and the return trail on the lollipop was definitely our favorite. The falls have a unique look which was very nice. The round trip distance with my GPS watch was 6.87 miles from the trailhead. Also you must get a day pass from town, you can't get it at the trailhead. Loved it!

I can't imagine a more beautiful hike. Not so much of a workout at the pace we went, stopping so many times for photos and to enjoy the views, but worth every second. If you are at all considering this, do it. You'll be so glad you did. (But start out early, especially on the weekend--it will get crowded.)

Scenic views of waterfalls are plentiful on this hike. It didn't feel hard but one does need to be prepared for the distance. It was heavily trafficked on a midday Saturday – so don't expect a solitary experience – but that is to be expected. North Falls are worth the extra distance.

This is a difficult but fun trek up to a beautiful summit. The last bit is a challenge but the 360 degree view is incredible and well worth it. We saw a lot of wild flowers, berries and fungi along the way and made several photo stops as the view is spectacular at several points along the way. Bring water and sunblock, there’s a good portion out from under the trees.

Fun hike. Great for kids and puppies

Was great for swimming and hiking, I did it with 3 kids 14, 8, 6, water was beautiful and clear. Got there early and the parking lot was half full after we got back it was jam packed. Overall it was a really great hike.

Well paved and easy walk up to the bridge. Well maintained.

Love this area. Shaded, not a flat trail in all areas but plenty. Has some gentle hills to work on the heart rate. Beautiful place to put in a few miles.

Prepare to get wet! Fantastic hike along and in a creek. Beautiful scenery as you hike through a canyon, climb over a huge log jam and wade through the water to reach a cascading waterfall at the end of your hike. Highly recommend!

Great hike! GO EARLY if you want peace, quiet, and tranquility. We encountered a lot of large loud groups on our way out late morning. Trail is moderately easy but do recommend good shoes as it is long. Forest is stunning and the water crystal clear!

Easy trail, well paved, quite a bit of incline. The river that flows into the waterfall at the top is very fun to play in. The water is nice and cold to cool you off after the hike.

Almost didn’t do this trail but so happy I did. You think you’re getting the best view about a mile from the top but I promise the last push is worth it. From the summit, you have a great view of Helens, Hood, and Adams. Pretty exposed trail but the views are worth it.
