we enjoyed this trail. It was still covered in snow from an earlier snow storm which just added to the enjoyment.

Great short hike. I went in January. Lots of ice. I was fine in hiking boots. My pup loved it.

Highly recommend this trail, even in winter. In January, the view at the top was less stunning because all the trees are dead. But, it's a very green trail with lots of bright green moss and tons of streams and tiny waterfalls. There is an Appalachian Trail shelter with some camping spots and a port-o-potty near the start of the trail. As another reviewer recommended, I would turn left at the fork to avoid going up the steeper way. Lightly trafficked, at least this time of year, as we only ran into about 5 people during the hike.

Traffic wasn’t too bad. Not a lot of parking though. Very muddy at some points. My GPS tracked 4.07 miles.

Follow the blue blazes of the Tuscarora Trail. After an uphill saunter, you will be rewarded with several panaramic views.

Great trail, well maintained but may be muddy at the start. The parking lot is small so get there early & you’ll be awarded not only a parking spot but solitude on the rocks. We think this hike is probably best in winter as you get many more views than you would with leaves on the trees.

Very muddy so bring some boots!

Love this trail. Its my bestie and I’s favorite spot. Lots of photo ops on this one. I highly recommend the ridge too, don’t stop & enjoy the views.

Went out hiking today and section A of the Billy Goat Trail is closed due to flooding. Hoping to come back this summer and experience the full trail as we were looking forward to climbing over the rocks in that section.

Went in July with friends. Did it’s backwards beginning with C. B was the best part because it wasn’t as clogged as A with a bottle neck effect occurring at the steep rock face.

Clearly marked trail, nice incline, beautiful view, and easy to find! Great afternoon hike.

Very nice New Year’s Day hike after a rainy New Year’s Eve day.

Nice quiet trail. Easy walking. Go only when weather is dry & has been for a while. This trail can get very muddy.

Nice easy day out in late December. Not too wet a day after rain, a little soggy but no flooding. We had the view from chimney rocks all to ourselves.

I loved it. Great views. Therapeutic.

great hike. had a little difficulty finding the trail to begin with, but once we found it, all was great. took our dog too. great views from black rock overlook.

An excellent late afternoon hike with an amazing view.

Great hike, the first part offers a nice set of switchbacks t get to the ridge. The view Friday from Big Schloss is awesome.

If you don't mind traveling through lots of mud I highly recommend this trail. I will not be hiking this trail again.

It is not to hard even for me and I’m 10 years old I want to find one a little harder

I definitely recommend this trail if you are in area. the first half mile or so is a steep incline but after that it's smooth sailing. great views of both Virginia and West Virginia. I only saw one or two other groups while on my hike. the parking lot was easy to find and there were restrooms (no sink though)

Great way to see Great Falls and views above the Potomac River.

Had a total blast on this, also some super fun climbing spots just off the trail

Easy trail. The falls are crowded in the summer. When you loop back, you see some nice boulders.

11-18, Took us 2hr 40 mins to complete. Spectacular views along the Potomac. I think I’ve have given it a 5-star rating if it was an out and back but I didn’t love the 2nd half (away from the water). Overall a really nice hike. Not too much elevation gain.

Love it! Just keep an eye out for the markers, you may miss one and have to backtrack if you're not vigilant.

Convenient hike to get out of the city and into nature. A pretty popular trail but you can avoid the crowds by going early in the morning or late near twilight. Overall pretty easy hike open to all levels.
