Parts of it were absolutely beautiful. But it was hard to tell how to stay on the trail at times- and it went through a campground part way which was strange.

Absolutely serene, gorgeous, and amazing. Great trail, lots to see, songbirds, and amazing water sights and sounds.

First of all it was really busy. Much busier than expected as it’s described as moderately trafficked. It was really confusing figuring out where the trail started as you walk right down into the waterfall from Alsea Falls. We ended up doing the Green Peaks Trail which was okay. The signage was better once on the trails but overall we didn’t enough it near as much as most others.

One of my favorites. Gorgeous view

I’ve done this twice now! It is a beautiful one to keep coming back to. Pack bug spray!!

This was a great short hike, easy for all

Beautiful!

Really enjoyed this hike! There were two or three different waterfalls that were pretty neat. The last mile up to the falls is a little bit of a butt kicker but the waterfall is worth it. You can also continue a mile past the falls and head to Vivian Lake. The shore was a little muddy but it was great for a swim to cool down! The way back is all downhill and fairly shaded. Beautiful hike. I would suggest getting there by 10 am to beat the crowds. This time of year it was dried up quite a bit so the waterfàlls don't look as powerful. Next time I will go at the very beginning of Sumner.

nice easy hike. fun for the whole family

This place is GORGEOUS! We will definitely be going back. We were warned about the bad roads Google maps wants to take us, so here are the directions we found that were much better. From Eugene, drive 33 miles west on Hwy 126. Between milepost 26 and 27 turn at the Whittaker Creek Rec area sign. After 1.6 miles turn right and cross a bridge. Drive 1.5 miles and fork left onto Dunn Ridge Road and continue 7 miles to a T-shaped junction which marks the end of pavement. Turn left onto Knowles Creek Rd for 2.7 miles and then turn right onto paved Road 23 for another 1.6 miles. Finally turn right onto paved Rd 919 for 2.8 miles to the trail head parking area on your right.

Went on both trails with my wife and 3 teenagers. 5 stars well worth it. Interesting history also.

One of my favorite hikes, especially in the Fall.

The map displayed in the homestead trailhead suggests that after reaching Sweet Creek Falls one can go east and get to Beaver Creek falls. The trick is that in order to get there, one should cross the creek in Sweet Falls area and take the trail uphill. Of course, one can simply drive south and hike to Beaver Falls from the bridge.

Quite a drive! wasn't awesome in a Toyota Corolla. Definitely follow the Forest Service directions to actually find it. Beautiful! I've been there twice.

This is one of our favorite trails. We have visited Sweet Creek in every season and it is beautiful every time. Fun to see the water a bit lower so we could explore on the rocks. Parking is limited so arrive before 10:30 am on the weekend.

the mapping for this trail is severely incorrect and my daughter and I ended up on a BLM logging trail, and very disappointing. if you attempt to locate, please stop before you hit the BLM roads.

Great hike for the family even on a hot summer day. Lots of places to cool off in the water. Bring $3 for parking. We parked at the falls parking lot instead of the trailhead. There’s a lot more parking there and you can access all the trails.

It’s a great easy hike. Takes about an hour to get to the trailhead from Cottage Grove and about about 30 minutes to get to the waterfall and back. Combined with some other trails in the area and it’s a decent day.

Good family hike, fairly easy and not a ton of elevation gain. Easy for adults and very do able for kids

What a gem! Coming down the trail was a bit tricky and slippery due to loose dirt/rock, but overall a great time. One of the foot bridges are broken, but easily passable. We took a left at the at the path intersection and found the lower falls.

My friend and I hiked this trail today after a long day hiking Kentucky Falls and then on to the Florence for some RR! I must say that it has been years since we had visited this marvelous little wonder!! It’s funny the beauty you can miss with kids, dogs and too many people. Soooo glad we stopped on our way out!! What a great way to end our day!! It is definitely a “Must Go!!” Next time we will go out to picnic!!

Short, but beautiful hike. The falls are gorgeous. While the hike is short, the falls are pretty enough to spend a while taking in the view. Bring a book and a picnic, and hang out for a while. Dip your toes in the cool water.

Great hike for kids and also good for elderly although they might have stop a few times before they reach the waterfall. They’re are a lot of great view points and one of the best waterfalls is at the beginning of the hike. Definitely recommend

Peaceful easy hike. Great growth and shade at the start and new growth after last years fire towards the falls. Easy access and soft trail.

Well maintained and great for kids. My 5 and 8 year old nephews loved it and all the waterfalls!

Nice short hike to beautiful falls. Would be a lovely place for a picnic with young kids. Easy to get to,

pretty easy until it starts to go straight down. kind of a goat trail at that point. moderate danger level. Very beautiful. great pics!

We wanted a nice easy hike for my fiancé, our dog and I, and we got it! The trail was very clean and open, and although we didn't quite make it to Fern Falls, Deadline Falls was quite beautiful! The thing that stopped us was the poison oak on the trails since we were worried about our dog trying to get into it. Other than that, we can't wait to come back, maybe this time minus the dog.

This is our most frequented hiking spot, it's beautiful from beginning to end.
