Quick beautiful hike. Definitely check the weather before you go because doing this trail after/during rainfall would make it a lot more dangerous. I would also consider it to be more moderate than easy. A little strenuous at times, but so worth it when you make it to the top.

awesome trail! the peak of the trail has an awesome look out! did the trail in October, and it was a little chilly at the top but just plan accordingly for the weather.

I really liked this trail as an easy walk to escape the city. It is all paved, but there are some opportunities to go into the woods if you like (near Earthquake Park for example). It also has the outer planets of the Solar System trail that starts at downtown Anchorage which is very cute and educational. I got up to Neptune -- next time I will make it to Pluto (six hours from the sun in downtown - I started too late).

I like that it's more secluded that the airstrip hike and the greater elevation change.

There's lots of trail work going on so be careful you stay on track. This app helped a lot for that. Saw moose and lots of bear scat so be careful/ prepared while out and about.

Very pleasant boardwalk except for loud traffic and nearby shooting range. Ducks and salmon. Sept 8, 2018.

Beautiful in fall with all the red bunch berry (?) ! We walked this to get to and from Flattop Mtn.

Nice bike ride and easy trail. On a clear day you can see Mount Denali.

Great little walk! Easy to follow directions. The view at the end might be better once the leaves start falling- the foliage didn’t allow for much viewing of the river. But Anchorage in the distance was cool. Somewhere between easy and moderate walk altogether.

Loved this hike! Easy to get turned around with all the side paths but the views are breathtaking! We have a 3.5 year old walking it and wore the baby!

Love this trail for a quick walk! We only had about an hour to walk so it was perfect! We saw the salmon and lots of ducks! It was perfect for our toddler!

Great bike ride!

Very nice boardwalk, scenic view. Many birds, including bald eagle. Salmon in small stream. Some moose and bear sightings.

nice easy trail, gradual incline until it gets steep at the end. I did it as an out and back because I didn't see exactly where the loop was. good hike if you only have a few hours took me 2.5 hours

I absolutely loved this trail!!! I took my Bumbleride IndieTwin double stroller and my 20 MO twins along with my other children ranging 4 to 13. It was so easy for all of us once we figured out which way to go. There are plenty of little side trails. It is hard to not hike this hike and become addicted or crave going and exploring more of those side trails!! Saw a moose and her calf. Plenty of gorgeous flowers to see. I’m so ready to go back and hike the rest by myself!

This is a perfect hike/walk with small children!

Very pretty boardwalk...even saw a moose!

Nice walk starting near Anchorage downtown. excellent trail for biking and skateboarding.

Good easy hike, nothing too steep. If you do choose to go out on the spur at the eastern point of the loop you have the option to continue on several other trails. Reccomend keeping this app and your phone's location service on during the hike as a quick reference tool as there are a few forks where it isnt clear which way to go. Overall good time and great view of the city if you go out on the eastern spur.

Nice hike with beautiful mountain and city views. A very nice alternative to Flattop if you don’t want to do a big climb. Trail is hard find as there is not much signage to it and there are lots of side trails. Use the map inside this map to stay on track.

I biked the from the Russian river camp ground to the cooper trailhead. then snug harbor rd back to rrcg. no car shuttle. if coming the opposite way, it's a big climb up snug to the cooper trailhead. the trail was in great shape, except between apsen flats and ressurection. either super overgrown, washed out (some bits were super washed out. i was standing in the middle of the trail, at the bottom of the washout, and the actual trail was at chest level) or straight up mud pits. either ends of the trail were great though. It's super beary to begin with. and the overgrown-ness made it feel even more beary. trailhead to trailhead took 6-7 hours. I'd do it again, but before it can get overgrown. or maybe early fall when it starts to die back. the dispersed camp sites are big enough for 1 tent. I didn't see a single other person on the trail. aside from the people between the rrcg and rr falls trail.

The reason for 3 stars is the horrible gravel road you have to drive up to get to the trail head. Was definitely a one time thing for me. If you have a 4 wheel drive you'll be good. $5 for parking. Also as others mentioned this is more a moderate hike than easy.

Hiked this one on July 4, 2018. Wonderful views once you get up close to the top and there’s a couple different trail options you can take halfway up. Would definitely rate it moderate due to the incline. If you hike this one on a sunny day, there is no shade so keep that in mind. We brought our two dogs and had them on leashes, but it seemed that almost everyone else ignores those signs and we constantly had other dogs running up on ours. It didn’t seem like almost anyone else had their dogs on leashes up here, so if you have a dog that doesn’t play well with others this might not be the best place to bring them.

Such an awesome trail, great to have this app to help me keep on the right path.

great trail nice stuff to see

Did basically the loop outlined here. Well maintained, but felt pretty boring for the area. Nice if you just want a flat area to roam instead of all of the peaks nearby. We did cut into the air field at one point and came upon a moose, which was really cool.
